These cars were a BIG part of my growing up years in So Cal. Each week I would call up Irwindale, Lions, and OCIR, to confirm my info from Drag News, etc. Just hearing Steve Evans on the track's outgoing message...."Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY"...was enough to make me beg my Dad to take me and my best friend to that weekend's races. And lucky for me...he did....and I drag race to this day. Thanks Pops!! ✌😎
I myself grew up with these cars ,my next door neighbor owned Pure Heaven 2.we probably seen each other at some of these tracks ,and yes I still drag race to this day.
Always a big fan of AA/FA. Mike Sullivan & of course Wild Willie. Didn't get to see them here on the east coast. Did see Willie's F/C with the rat motor.
Just great. Thank you. As badass as the AA/FD slingshots were the fuel altereds seemed otherworldly and hallucinatory. Visions from a nitro fever dream.
Go make the video yourself then! I literally made most of these videos on my phone on lunch break at work they are not the best I just figured people who enjoy dragracing as much as I do would love it! Sorry it’s not up to your standards!
Man, that last frame @2:28 of crankshaft salad under the car says it all. AA/FA - Baddest class in drag racing. Biggest balls of any drivers.
Such a badass video don't get any better than old school.
"Wild" Willie! You! One hand!
Tire melting, supercharged, nitro guzzling, short wheel-based monsters were some of the most exciting racing back in the sixties
Every Saturday night at Lions. What a great life in the 60 s for a 15 year old kid
This was the most entertaining, exciting & pioneering period in drag racing, before computer technology stepped in👍🏆😎.

Fuel Altereds, Factory Super Stockers, early Funny Cars, and gassers! Those were the days!
2min 16secs. Australian Jphn "Crazyman" Taylor...famed for his fire burnouts. In this instance, his goggles are still planted firmly on the helmet. 😄

Bring something like this to your local track today most kids would be totally amazed.
Just great. Thank you. As badass as the AA/FD slingshots were the fuel altereds seemed otherworldly and hallucinatory. Visions from a nitro fever dream.
Only one missing was My Uncle driving "The Bad News Coupe" Topolino. "Bob Sidebotham"
I’ll be sure to include it in part 2 lol
Dale Emory was one of the best drivers ever!
Dubbed idling didn't work for me!
First real drag racers had these type of cars
Fremont 4 Ever
When drag racing was great
