Call of Duty Multiplayer in infamous for the toxicity and bullshit that happens in matches.
Warzone is the recent attempt by the developers to cash in on Battle Royale popularity.

Warzone: Larger maps, more people, multiple teams, start with a pistol and pick up more/better gear, last team standing wins, the only time limit is a deadly zone closing in every so often making the playable area smaller, if you're dead your teammates have to buy you back and/or you have to beat a mini-game
Multiplayer: Smaller maps, less people, two teams, start with a full loadout each time you respawn, time limit and score determines the winners, if you die you just respawn
This is just generally speaking, there are different modes.

Easy!
MP: smaller maps, 2 teams, pick your loadout, action packed (in a nutshell. Don't even mention modes)
Warzone: Battle Royale, so bigger maps, multiple people or teams competing, start with pistol, lots of looting and lots of "oh sh*t! OH SH*T! Is that a sniper over there?! Oh... it's just a shadow from the tree. Thank G" BANG.

as someone that use to play cod, sbmm basically doesn't exist. it tried to work, but the system might as well be guessing. several games in a row where we butcher the other team, then one round where its close and back to sluaghtering the enemies.
Yes, Call of Duty and other franchises basically do what Overwatch did, except they charge full price and keep the servers up for each re-release until they decide to stop hosting them, pushing people to buy the new game.

On the topic of skill based matchmaking it sounds like a good idea in concept because it’s supposed to keep the good players and the not so good players separated.
However 2 major problems with this are that the good players will not be able to fully enjoy the games they get put in.
Because if everyone in a lobby is of similar skill level then the experience is basically get a kill die get a kill die get a kill die for the entire game pretty much. Which basically encourages camping because people obviously don’t want to die after every kill they get.
As for the not so good players the problem is that people can manipulate the matchmaking to get put in lobbies that are below there actual skill level and dominate all the not so good players.
Side note.
There’s good players but then there’s also players that are so unreasonably good that they can literally win an entire team deathmatch by themselves even against people that are above average skill level and they usually end up with around 100+ kills per game with barely any deaths.
So it’s basically impossible to balance a game with that much of a skill difference between the newer players and the pros.
It’s also why games usually have low rank only lobbies so new players physically can’t play against the good players until they rank up a good amount. But even then people will be such try hards that they will make new accounts so they can play against the newer players.
Plus players in general are unpredictable so you can’t guarantee that a good player will always do good the same way you can’t guarantee that a bad player won’t get better/lucky.
If you made it to the end and actually read all this then just know there’s so much more I could’ve talked about but I didn’t want this comment to get any longer so here’s a cookie for you as an apology for making you read all this.🍪 😂

Fair point, as a campaign only guy, I don't really understand the killstreak thing. It just let the good perform player even better and bad luck/not so good players get punished.
I think kill score reach to get those streak bonus and don't reset upon death will be more casual and more fun for everyone. Just saying.
@@k78906211 I’ve also had a similar thought to this because for example in real life you don’t call in an air strike if you’re already winning a fight.
So it actually does make more sense that kill/score streaks should actually be death streaks.

There's a reason why I muted in-game voice chat when I played COD and just talked to my friends on discord / vent/ teamspeak/ whatever was best at the time.

Brief explanation on the difference between Warzone and regular multiplayer (from someone who doesn’t play CoD but watches videos of it):
Warzone: a battle royale with a bunch of players (either teams of up to 4 or solo) on a giant map that shrinks overtime.
Regular multiplayer: Two teams compete head-to-head on a smaller map (basically think of any other fps game like TF2 or Overwatch).
Hope this clears things up (if you haven’t already been told the difference already😅)
Also, I’m pretty sure that they brought back public lobbies on some older CoD games (or maybe it was that they rereleased them on newer consoles, so they opened them on those). I could be wrong about that, though.😅

I could be wrong but the public lobbies for older games like the original mw2 for example.
I’m pretty sure was the fans restoring them themselves. But they got a cease and desist or something. Because I assume activision didn’t like the idea that people would rather play an older game than buy the newest one.
Also older cod games or just older games in general are literally unplayable sometimes because they are almost entirely populated by modders/hackers.
There was even one guy who got so mad that people weren’t playing a specific cod on the Xbox 360. That he made a whole post about how he wanted to donate a bunch of Xbox 360’s with only that one cod game installed on them to a children’s hospital.
So that he could play against all the sick and possibly dying children for his own enjoyment and even bragged about how he would basically treat the kids like they are bots or something.

I personally don’t really like battle royals because thanks to stuff like fortnight a lot of games are now specifically battle royal modes which means we have alot of people that don’t understand that battle royal mode is a separate thing to regular PvP multiplayer stuff like team deathmatch for example.
Plus thanks to the way battle royals work we now have a lot of people that think leaving a game (rage quitting) after one or two deaths is acceptable behaviour in regular PvP.
I’ve even unfortunately interacted with people that genuinely thought that stuff like gta online and red dead online were battle royals.

High rise does exist as a multiplayer map on modern cod. Also as a COD player, warzone is a battle royale game mode that has over 150 players on a large map or a smaller island map. This is done usually with teams (duo, quad) or solos. Multiplayer mode has smaller maps with 2 teams of 6 going head-to-head in TDM, domination, defusing a bomb, etc.
Also there isn’t friendly-fire in multiplayer or warzone although flashbangs still affect your teammates. Multiplayer has no gun friendly-fire… buuut Hardcore Multiplayer has no such weakness. My teammates have been known to drop dead in front of me as I killed an enemy. Completely unrelated.

MW2 Multiplayer is 5v5 on a small map. Warzone is a Battle Royale in a large map, starting with 100 players, either solos or teams, fighting to be that last ones standing.

Every time I play COD and do extremely well one match, killing people left right and center. Then for some strange reason the next day I play, I get absolutely destroyed.
1:11 That there is a character in Call of Duty: Cold War, but it actually isn't a character. It is a "Special" zombie that they call The Disciple. They have the ability to mind control regular Zombies into doing whatever they want them to do, and they usually have about 3 to 5 Zombies under his control. As the rounds progress, so do the number of Zombies they control. Hope this helps 👍

In cod it can only fire if lock on a target. But in real life you can still fire it without lock and if the target is too close it works like a normal missile launcher.

SBMM sounded great on paper, in actuality 90% of the matches were extremely sweaty and/or imbalanced and just not fun as a result. It also made matchmaking times longer, in MW2022 I remember waiting a full minute or more just to be in a match shooting my gun when it used to take mere seconds.
idk if they ever fully explained it but multiplayer is the classic 6v6 experience and warzone is the battle royale. u can also go back and play the multiplayer of any cod game. u can go play the og mw2 right now

4:00 Call of Duty(game series) made a spinoff from the main series called Warzone... you can play Warzone for free. its a battle royale version of the normal game. Call of Duty mainseries(Black Ops, Modern Warfare, WW2, Cold War...) are games with a optional story mode and a multiplayer in which you can do different game modes(but not Battle Royale since thats only for Warzone) but you can play:
team vs team
free for all
capture the point
(of the above there are also harder versions with more realistic damage)
party modes like:
One In The Chamber(you only have 1 bullet in your gun but the bullet is fatal, if you hit you get your bullet back and the other person is obviously dead if you are out of bullets you can use the knife to try to get someone)
Gun Game(very popular game mode in which you need to get a kill with 20 different weapons to win, if you however get knifed/knife killed you go back to the weapon you had before, so if you have 10 kills you would be at 11 but get knifed and you are back at 10 the weapon variety is very large but mostly starts with pistol at 15 or so you get snipers and 18/19 are rocket launchers and/or random weapons like a crossbow or something and the final weapon is a throwing knife there is however an option to change the setback amount in custom games)

There is a pvp (player vs. player), with different modes, such as team deathmatchz capture the flag, etc. Warzone has been added as a separate part of the game to promote it and launch it from there. Warzone is a battle royale, whereas the multi-player connected to the game wins through a point system (example being first team to 100 points)

About the online being discontinued or not, its not so much as the company themselves pulling the plug on the multiplayer, its more that cheaters start to infect the multiplayer to the point that you basically need to buy the new one to play a normal game.

Match I had on black ops 4 guy went off about the only reason we won was because I was camping with the microm had me wanting to say something because I was paying attention to the map and his team didn't seem to be doing the same they just traveled the map in a pack and along with that some of the time when I spawned back after they killed me they were very close so it's time to shred

The way CoD shuts down their old game servers is by leaving them up and just letting hackers destroy the old games. It keeps them from having to make such a “shoot self in foot” move, and also essentially forces players into the new game.

Multiplayer is single, smaller, self contained maps that don't connect to each other, with a relatively smaller number of players. Usually 16 maximum last I checked. There are no loot crates scattered around the map nor are you ever really allowed to go picking up weapons from the people you kill that aren't already part of the loadout you chose before hopping into a game.
Warzone is a completely separate Fortnite style battle royale game. There's a large map comprised of multiple zones which could all count as their own stand alone map in a normal multiplayer experience. There's also usually a lot more players. Anywhere from 60 to 100 or more. And there ARE loot crates around the map and you are always allowed to just kill someone and take their shit if you like it more. It's encouraged even, if they have better shit than you.
Basically, Multiplayer is a fighting game, and Warzone is Minecraft.😂
regular MP in MW newer series has ground war mode, which is 2 teams of 32 divided into 8 squads of 4 players each, on large maps with vehicles, in which you play regular MP modes.

This isn't a remake
MW 1-3 (2019, 2022, 2023) is the MW reboot series which are separate games from the classic MW 1-3 (2007 ,2009, 2011) series. MW remastered (2016) is COD 4 MW (2007) remade and MW2 campaign remastered (2019?) is MW2 (2009) remade. Although, they did not remake/remaster classic MW3 (2011).
They are both different games, if you want both Multiplayer and Br in cod then play CoDm
