    The tanks are mounted in rubber mounts. You did a test drive on a 2002 Honda VT 600 C VLX with Cobra pipes on it too. They sounded great too. You also did one on a VLX 600 with Vance & Hines pipes. They just sound loud, not good.

    I had the same bike and it was a great beginner bike, but I felt like I had no power left at 70. I'm a big guy so I'm sure that is part of it, but 35hp is really low for 750cc. It was a nice bike though. Loved the look.

    • @MochiMotoPa
      @MochiMotoPa 2 года назад

      if yours only had 35HP i would recommend looking into why since there newer ones have 45-50HP but the same engine.

    • @brandon9715

      @@MochiMotoPa The Shadow Phantom of that era was heavily detuned, something Honda commonly does with their engines. I think they could have given it more power, but that’s their decision.

    Hey man, just came across your video. I have a HUGE question. I just bought a 2019 Phantom. it now has just shy of 600 miles on it. My question is, do phantoms have an engine click that just comes with the bike. What it would be idk. Timing chain or tensioner(?) Rod? Or should i take it in and have someone look at it. I also have a second question that relates to the first. My Phantom does NOT like doing over 65mph. She feels really high in rev, hard engine braking when letting off throttle. All the shadow video ive seen including yours, the bikes really seem to out perform my own. I am worried that my bike has a factory flaw, or its first service was somehow not done correctly. or my valves were out of spec and they did not fix it or tell me. My is not modded at all, bone stock, probably another reason, but that much? Idk and i dont really have the extra money to spend on diags that come up with things that are not the issue. or to be told there is nothing wrong. Thank you for any insight.

    • @Korsfestelse
      @Korsfestelse 5 лет назад +1

      Cory Robison The shadows are known as sewing machines which is from the valves (you can tell when they need adjusting because it will tick REALLY profoundly), plus the air filter makes a lot of noise too compared to other cruisers. 600mi is the break-in service if I remember correct, so it would need one in your case. Regarding the revs: these bikes are underpowered and should really have a 6th gear, so they do rev fairly high in top gear. But just think where your redline is (around 7k) and remember you're not gonna reach that. I can sit at 80mph no problem, so yours will do that, but the revs will never be low unless you're on something like a VTX1800.

    • @Static_Stormm
      @Static_Stormm 5 лет назад

      @@Korsfestelse I had the first service done at 300 miles because that's what the owners manual recommended.
      Guess i didn't mention that this is my very first street legal motorcycle. Maybe im just stressing but i work on cars so i hear cars. im not used to hearing things like ticks unless there is a real problem(except for 5.7 hemis on cold start). Alright, shadows tick. No big deal then unless it gets worse, like two spoons hitting each other i was told. Revs: I really could use a tac then, cause i have no idea how high red line is, ive ridden dirtbikes all my life, never a cruiser, which is why i bought one. I could afford this one. so i got it. that quick. dont judge, fyi... dont do it. buy used, i havent dropped mine or anything, but its not what i was expecting. or i have no idea how to properly ride one. was told dont rap it out. all the power is down low.( why i bought a cruiser and not sport. shoulda went naked) OK dont rev high. shift low. hit highway, wtf 55 and shes screaming... or not? but at 70 holy wow. am i just that culture shock that im just not clickin? as in that just how it rides and im so not used to it if feels wrong.
