    I've very curious about the lens situation. I imagine you have to use a lens with a pretty big image circle to allow for movement - no x lenses ?

    • @DanBaileyPhoto
      @DanBaileyPhoto  5 лет назад

      The ACTUS-Mini is designed to be used with their own lenses. It does not allow for the use of the X Series lenses on the camera. Cambo does have a camera called the ACTUS B-8, which uses the Fujifilm X mount, and allows for the use of your existing Fuji lenses. You can see that model here: bhpho.to/2lGGJZh

    For Fuji X-T1, do we have any other option for a tilt shift ability? I am planning to get into Architecture Photography but I lately realize that Fuji doesn't have any plan for a tilt shift lense anytime soon.
    Post processing the image won't be an option because I don't see the image looks as good as the one with a tilt shift lense.
    Thank you Dan.

      I also see that Kipon made a tilt shift adapter for Fuji X where the lens will be Nikon Full Frame Glass.

      You could use a Nikon tilt shift lens on the X-T1 with a Fuji-Nikon mount adapter. It would obviously have a more narrow view angle on the Fuji, but I would imagine that you could still get the tilt shift effect.

      Geoff, I'm not sure. I think I got the music from Apple's iMovie audio library and then looped the piece to make it fit within the video length.

    • @DanBaileyPhoto
      @DanBaileyPhoto  5 лет назад

      The ACTUS-Mini system uses the dedicated CAMBO lenses that are specifically designed for this system. They offer a few different focal lengths. The ACTUS-B8 features the Fujifilm X mount, so you can use your own Fuji lenses. bhpho.to/2lGGJZh

    Very encouraging but I think I shall stick with Lensbaby for compactness, on the fly and variety. I love the compact xm1 and ax5 bodies with Lensbaby. To retain full-frame swirl effects with Lensbaby I use a turbo booster.

    • @DanBaileyPhoto
      @DanBaileyPhoto  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the comment, Barry. Yes, the Lensbaby is obviously way smaller and more compact, and more convenient and practical in most situations, especially when you're shooting on the fly. Which Lensbaby do you have?

      I think it costs around $2K for the complete bellows, rail and mount kit. You can find it here: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1131859-REG/cambo_99010708_actus_camerabody_black_fuji.html/BI/5871/KBID/6746/DFF/d10-v21-t1-x617260

      Rather rude delivery of a correct message. I wanted to say that same thing, so I"ll say it my way -- The point of using view camera movements seems to be of limited understanding in the general public, and even among many photographers. The ability to throw something out of focus so you get a vignette of defocused areas is but one application and -- to me -- the very easy and basic application of view camera movements. The real use of the movements, yet one that takes much more understanding and practice, including reading up on theory, is the ability to bring into focus areas that are normally not even possible with stopping down the aperture on the lens; managing parallel lines and correcting perspective; or introducing distortion creatively to emphasize or de-emphasize objects within a scene. If all I need to do is throw things out of focus, the easier and more efficient way to do it would be to use an editing application.
      I'd like to see a video on shooting architecture with this setup, or shooting landscapes that are pin-point sharp from front to back.

    Unfortunately, the shift is absolute shit. rather get a 4x5 field and its not that much bigger w/ the Fuji 4x5 adapter plate and its only a marginally bigger drag along.
    SO much cheaper, too _and_ you can shoot 4x5 negatives after the fact at a fraction of the cost.

    • @DanBaileyPhoto
      @DanBaileyPhoto  3 года назад

      Thanks for your comment. I appreciate the feedback, I’m not an expert at tilt shift and I’ve never used a 4x5 view camera. I’m sure there are huge advantages to that kind of setup. Here, I was simply reviewing a specific piece of gear and letting people know what it does. As you pointed out, there are always alternatives.

    • @pinkeye00
      @pinkeye00 3 года назад +1

      @@DanBaileyPhoto Not saying the setup isn't sexy. I think the limitation is the lack of 3-6 position shift options like what you'd get with the 4x5 camera adapted. Think Linholf or Graflex which honestly are like big box cameras with their movements and with a GFX body + a slide adapter, you can have a lens installed IN the camera and its totally better than this.
      It looks neat, and is probably well made to the hills - but is it really capable of massive movements like a 4x5? Just seems a little less thought out. I could be wrong. Im old and tired and full of gas. Time to find my cane and go die in the field.

    • @DanBaileyPhoto
      @DanBaileyPhoto  3 года назад

      You're not wrong. This will obviously not give the exact same look and experience you get with a real 4x5 camera, but it is a less expensive and more portable option for photographers, and it allows you to make use of all the creative and technical settings/features inside smaller mirrorless cameras. It's an option that opens up the tilt-shift world to those photographers who probably aren't going to buy a 4x5 camera.

    This is so bad! Terrible background music. Speaking too fast.
    Non information. Wrong information about the view camera.
    Where is the lens shade ? Where is the shade of the screen?
    A too light and too small tripod
    Any camera can be mounted ( with extra parts) at the Actus.
    Cambo is making a big mistake by denying my design
    to make the Cambo Actus an universal camera.
    ( Very frustrating being a Cambo photographer since 1965.
    It is all because of the new Cambo management)
