Hi, thanks Luke, it was such a good 3 days riding in the Lake District. I have plans for other areas for next year. What areas do you ride in? Ride safe, Dave
@@thatblokeonamotorbike I am a bloke from china, riding all over tibet and xinjiang, which are hopelessly 2000 miles from my home on eastern seaboard. I have actually ride once in lake district passing windermere up to Carlile. I am planning to visit UK with my riding mate in the future. Thank you very much for the upload.
At 1m:42, I can see on the pump that you used 6.49 litres for 164 miles. That works out at 114 miles per gallon. That is in 125cc territory! I've just got my Classic 350 and have barely any miles on it, but that is phenomenal efficiency.
Really enjoying this tour. Although I know this part of the Lakes as I've cycled it a lot, it's lovely seeing it through your eyes and without the effort. September is an ideal time as the colours are magnificent. Calimoto app looks great. Thank you for the information. The view looking back down the Langdale valley made the hairs on the back of my neck shiver it was so beautiful. You chose a really nice version of the classic - restrained!
Hi, Calimoto is really good at finding the little back roads. Just out of interest I've re-watched a coupe of the videos and even though I filmed and edited it i was still sat here saying WOW. I have some of the routes saved on Calimoto, if you would like me to sent them let me know then you can have a look at where it was. Ride safe Dave
Hi Dave, if there's one benefit to enforced bikelessness(how's that for a word?) following my spinal procedure, it's that I've plenty of time to catch up on other channels, and this Lakeland adventure of yours is a real bonus. The Lakes has been an important destination for us since the early 70's and it's great to see it through your visor. You were fortunate with the traffic, as it's a nightmare in summer and even September can be a lot worse. It seems that my style is very much like yours Dave, which is both interesting and informative. It's early days yet, but it's feeling like the procedure's a success, so I'll be back up there very soon. Hope you're getting things sorted with your recovered bike. Cheers for these videos again, and stay safe. 👍😎
Hi Martin, I'm really glad yoou back surgery looks to be doing well. You will soon be out and about again on your bike. I've been catching up with all the work I have been putting off. No news yet abut the bike, I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see if they know anything. Cant' wait to get back out on it. When you get back on the road I feel a ride and a cuppa coming on. Stay safe, Dave
Hi Dave, sounds like a plan to me buddy. I just hope it doesn't take that long to get the Classic back and sorted. At least you have the BM to fall back on. Thanks again and stay safe. Martin.
Few weeks ago i did reverse of that route done it with my himalayan but cant believe how well 350 handled.. rode and climbed up .... they truly are the biz .cheers from dave.....
Hi there. Just found your channel and subscribed. I have recently bought a used Classic 350, 6 months old, nicely run-in and a little under 2,000 miles. I love it so far. I am going to look up your other videos and I am sure I will enjoy them too. I want to fit some luggage to mine and have seen a few options but yours look fantastic. I see they are `LOMO` bags but can you tell me the size and where you got them, please. Also, what have you mounted them to. Sorry for the long comment. Dave.
Hi Dave, thanks for the comment and subscription. The bags are the LOMO large bags. I've found then to be fantastic. I use the bike for commuting as well as pleasure riding. To give an idea of what you can fit in them I can get my laptop bag in one side. I mounted them to pannier racks bought from Hitchcock's. I supplemented the fitting with straps through the webbing back and around the frames. They have been 100% waterproof in some really filthy weather. I'm going to be doing a video about them and how I fitted them as soon as I can Ride safe
@@thatblokeonamotorbike Thank you so much for your detailed reply. Very helpful and I will almost certainly go for the same set-up. I have seen other videos saying that the canvas panniers from India, are as useless as they look. (My opinion). Looking forward to that video and all others from you. I have watched the 5 videos of the Lakes tour, very impressive. Cheers.
You have been riding through fantastic scenery and on a great sounding bike. So nice to have the road to yourself in places like that. What camera and mic system are you using, sounds great.
Hi Michael, thanks for the comment. The camera is a GoPro Hero 10 in a media mod. The mic is a Purple Panda mounted in front of the helmet. I made a wind cover for it from the finger of an old glove, I'm planning a video soon on the set-up and how I film rides. Ride safe Dave
british landscape, my favourite. thoroughly enjoyed this show.

Superb audio of the gentle hum and burble of the Classt350 single. In combination with the scenery... Heavenly 👌
Thanks!!!
The Classic just burbles along, great trip. 🙂

Lovely run. I did the same on my Interceptor a couple of months back, but didn’t do Hardknott, as I have done it loads of times. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent Dave 👌
