Linda Ronstadt stunningly beautiful, powerhouse vocalist, absolute LEGEND from my childhood. This is one of those songs you just need to crank up. Instant pick me up. 55 now where does the time go 😮😮😮.
The quote's a play on words from Sweet Georgia Brown. "Fellas she can't get are fellas she ain't met." That quote has been used for many singers. Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Diana Krall. True, but well worn.
Donna Summer had the same quality: amazing volume of her voice, and crystal clear. Donna was 5 ft 7 or 170 cm and 132 lbs or 60 kg. A lot of training, but I think also a big part is natural born talent / gifted. @@chartwel
@@williamdrijver4141You can be naturally gifted, but you have to apply yourself and put the work in. Donna Summer first sang in church, that great training ground. She also starred in musicals in Germany. She paid her dues, that's the "big" part.
She sure could sing. Long Long Time is my favorite from her. She never dressed like she was selling her body instead of her voice. She didnt have to because she was talented. She proved it too.
I love that with musical acts of that time, if you took them off stage, directly to a pizza joint, they wouldn’t be over dressed for it. They were just natural, music loving people.
She picked the right song to remake exactly ten yesrs later when Linda sang this I couldnt get enough if hearing it because I was a 6yr old when Martha Reeves and the Vandellas sang it.
Wow. What a beautiful golden voice. Just flawless. The only thing I miss is that little falsetto flourish she does at the end of the song on the album version!
I'm 61. She captured me in yhe 70s. First time I saw this......Google "First Cut is the Deepest. " Amazing rendition and voice. Thank you, Linda Ronstadt ❤ Jeff.
I'm 61. Just love her, my goodness, her voice. And my favorites are from the 70s - raw and unpolished. Thank you Ms. Ronstadt! I recently read she did not like how she did this sing, embarrassed her. Lol. Not me, great stuff❤.
Thank you so much for uploading this! I learned about this from the Bob Lefsetz podcast, and I've actually listened to it twice. Bert Sugarman came across so well in the interview, that I had to play it for my wife in the car.
WOW!!! Linda Ronstadt...before every Female Show evvvver and forvvver all of them should say..."Thankyou Linda"...pure Angelic vocals...her 78th birthday is coming soon...such a nasty disease she has...prayers for Linda...amen
No faking. No lip sync. She belts it out live. True talent. ❤❤❤
NOBODY covers a song like Ronstadt......NOBODY!
every band before 80's
Martha and the vendettas sang that song Heatwave back in the 60s
@@ShaniTrahan-e2e Already knew that. You may want to learn what "cover" with respect to recording a song means.
Hardly any makeup, no plastic surgery, normal clothing. Just a great singer
and no tattooos!
and stunningly beautiful!

@@KendraAndTheLaw yes the only good thing about it is we are all in the same boat, time is sneaky and scary fast. Peace to yourself.......
9 months just went by.
I was 9 years old when I fell in love with her.....that face, that voice
Right there with you, and what a time to be alive.
Yes sir
Most sing what they think they can - Ronstadt sang what she wanted surrounded by great devoted players. Glorious pipes - any time, any tune...sigh.
Great players - Andrew (guitar), and I'm pretty sure Corky Laing on drums and Kenny Edwards on bass.
And Dan Dugmore on the other lead@@judmcc
Linda is the best. Beyond any doubt "The Queen of Rock"
Every single performance by Linda that I've seen or heard is always vocal perfection.
Every. Single. One.
Wow, a band really playing ! No tracks, no computers!
As Willie Nelson said: "There are two types of men in the world: those that love Linda Ronstadt, and those that never heard of her."
He was right. Good Lord!
The quote's a play on words from Sweet Georgia Brown. "Fellas she can't get are fellas she ain't met." That quote has been used for many singers. Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Diana Krall. True, but well worn.
I'm glad she stood her ground and didn't let record execs change or manipulate her. One of the greatest.
A Gorgeous Woman with a Gorgeous Voice!
Beautiful lady, beautiful voice.
Live performance. No auto tune nor lip syncing.
Are you kidding? That voice? She had such a strong and melodic voice, supreme talent like that needs nothing but just sit and watch her belt it.
Linda was the voice of the 70s.
She makes it look so effortless! Unbelievable talent.
I was going to write this, it's true! How does such a tiny body generate such power?

Guitar solo at 1:07 played by Andrew Gold of "Lonely Boy" and "Thank You for Being a Friend" fame 🎸
RIP Andrew
Yes. And he's the original guitarist for the lead solo on the studio recording for Ronstadt. Fantastic guitarist.
I think that also is Kenny Edwards on bass who performed a lot with Karla Bonoff.
@@DrummerDanVaYes, it is! Actually, Kenny, Andrew, Karla and Wendy Waldman formed a group called Bryndle.
Oh Linda, what a powerful, beautiful voice you had!!! Simply fantastic!!!
She picked the right song to remake exactly ten yesrs later when Linda sang this I couldnt get enough if hearing it because I was a 6yr old when Martha Reeves and the Vandellas sang it.
Amazing voice, nobody compares today.
what a remarkable talent. the range of her instrument was phenomenal, from torch singer to belter, one of the great ones.
The Voice! Best female singer ever.
Props to the lead guitarist.
Andrew Gold. He’s also a great songwriter. You’re familiar with his music if you’ve ever seen The Golden Girls.
@@pamcornelius9122 Andrew died in 2011.
I saw Linda live in concert in 1977, what a great show. She sounds great live. She is so talented, she could sing anything.
Saw Linda on this tour in NJ. She opened with this.
What a Goddess!
I've learned 4 Linda Ronstadt songs on guitar, this week, I love getting to jam out with her songs
Memories, sweet, sweet memories...
She had a powerful, soulful voice... hits you like a heatwave burning with desire. ❤️🔥
That band, though....
Thank you for sharing!
Linda and Elvis are the best live! Thank you for posting Midnight Special.
Studio or live, Linda was always flawless.
Wow. What a beautiful golden voice. Just flawless. The only thing I miss is that little falsetto flourish she does at the end of the song on the album version!
Linda is sooo great 😊
Beautiful and talented, talented and beautiful!
Yeah yeah...
Gives me goosebumps.
I saw Linda Rondstadt live at the famous Palomino Club in the ‘70’s. She was great!
Another great one from Linda. Thank You!

Love this band, especially the drummer
Drew Gold 🎸 Awesome take 🎶 Thanks Linda ✌
Real talent! I remember watching that.
Linda’s talent amazing, did not matter if she did a cover song or one of her own it was the best of the best and the band was great as well.
Wow 🤩
She is a great performer 🤓
what a voice
First heard her in 1969 at age 25 on the juke box in a bar called Maloney's in Margate NJ (Different Drums). Loved her voice ever since..
Ty ,Midnight Special for putting on amazing artist 🎉🎉
I can even understand what she is singing. Great voice and elecution. Love ya Linda.
Great! Great! And Great! Linda Ronstadt is the best. 💗
Amazing
I just love this!!
just wow

I had a crush on Linda Ronstadt back then at 13 yrs old 🤣 I watched this show every Friday night , WolfMan Jack was the Man 💪💥
clap for the wolfman

Somehow, I really believe Linda sings better live than in the studio.
Great to see the great Andrew Gold too!
It'd be cool if they listed all the players on these cuts.
Yes, please :)
I know for a fact that 2 of them are Andrew Gold (lead guitar) and her old buddy from her Stonepony days Kenny Edwards (bass)
Wow...❤
My crush when I was a sophomore in hugh school, I was still a virgin, smdh. She's the greatest crush.
Lovely Linda ❤
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Man, 70s chicks were the best most gorgeous of any other era.
The Midnight Special date shown above may be wrong. The song was released in September 1975.
Linda and the band are on fire here.Outstanding performance!
Wow, this seems like it could have been yesterday.
Linda is amazing! The lead guitar player thought he could do better than the studio version lead. He didn't come close.

Nice solo from Andrew Gold.
killing it

Every teenagers dream girl in the 70s , well at lest mine.
史上最高の女性ボーガリスト。リンダ❤
👍👍👍
0:43 ท่อน Yeah yeah นี้คือเหมือนฟ้าผ่า 2:12
surprised Waddy Wachtel wasn’t in the band on this appearance, that’s him singing with her on the record.
The drummer looks like the one with Sultans of Swing in London!
I had to come listen to this song to get cheered back up from listing to Long,Long Time
Damn…
Check out that elaborate drum kit!
😀
Hello, Linda… I think I love you 😅
Is that Andrew Gold on the guitar?
Yup
Andrew Gold
Marty Feldman on drums ?
I wanna be the drummer!!
What about Andy Gibb on The Midnight Special from 1977 and 1980 show? Please?!!!!!

Linda could sing the soft ballad then belt one out like Heat Wave.
Thin Lizzy please!
OM.G. The Boys Are Back in Town 🎶🎼🤗
It is projected in the near future..
I swear, Beverly Bivens of WE FIVE group and Linda SO favor each other, they could be sisters (even there two front teeth are alike !!!)
“Even there” is that high english or Shakespearean like “so be it “
Correction in spelling: it should be "their", or, keeping with the Shakespearean theme "as you like it"
No “autotune” needed!
They say without Linda there would be no Eagles, unbelievable right?
75년도에 린다가 이런노래를. wow. 기타누구야. 그렌 프라이보다 훨씬 잘하는데.
Help me out, I see Andrew gold on guitar but don't see skunk Baxter.
Like John Boylan said, she has a voice as big as a house..lol
Who was playing the drums?
Richie Hayward from Little Feat and Jeff skunk Baxter on congas
@@greggjarvis133looks like Dennis Wilson a bit! Thanks!
Is this a better version than Martha's? I'll let y'all be the judge of that
Enjoy them both!
Roger Daltrey on drums?
Looks more like 'Russ Abbott' to me 🤣
Andrew Gold on lead. Better days.
The drummer. ROFL.
Shame she's so hard to hear above the loudness of the music.
Dude didn’t get the guitar lead right.
The piano player is overplaying. Why? The song is so powerful as recorded. Andrew Gold was the real deal!
