Better way to fix the fleetstar at the beginning is to just winch it to the service truck, attach it and fix it. And it's completely free!

yes what i did with the fleet star is use the maintenance trailer at the garage then find the fuel trailer near the farm to fully repair and refuel. free of charge. then i left the fuel trailer at a key point that i pass by frequently doing the first few missions that are easy enough without better tires

I drag the fleetstar over to the service trailer at the starting garage. No need to spend money on repairs

Wanted to add on some some of my own tips on some of your pointers you had on the video based on my experience starting off in hard mode:
1: DO NOT USE THE SERVICE TRAILER to fix the Fleetstar. You can save a bunch of repair points and spare tires by taking it into the garage first. Once there, use the Chevy to scout out the whole map and try to get all of the upgrades for the Fleetstar. Its better engine for example can be found on Black River. Once you have all of its upgrades, then go back to the garage and swap out the broken engine for the upgraded one. Since you also got the raised suspension upgrade, you will also probably get bigger tires and that will swap out the flats that were there from the start. In the end, you only have to repair the gearbox (IIRC) and the fuel tank which can then be fixed by the service trailer. You now saved yourself a bunch of repair points and spare tires that can be used to fix up the Kodiak later on.
2: DO NOT buy a scout fuel trailer. Yes it can save you a lot of time and give you better range in the beginning, but there are two FREE scout fuel trailers at Island Lake. It's a long journey yes, but you can make it. Once you get mostly done with Black River, take a truck with two service parts and winch up your scout to the back of the truck after you topped off its fuel tank. The service parts will be used for the rock slide mission next to the garage at Smithville dam (It's not required, but just wanting to be efficient with my time and fuel). Next, make the LONG journey to Island Lake. If you have the Offroad gearbox installed on your scout, just keep it on High Gear when going over dirt roads. It will save a bit on fuel. Once you made it to Island Lake through the tunnel in the South of Smithville Dam, make your way to the huge fuel tank that's in the middle of the map among the trees close to the tunnel entrance. Once you're topped off, start unlocking the towers. The scout fuel trailer can be found either in the South in the trailer store or in the South-Southwest area in front of a house. Both are already full. This will save you a lot of money that you may waste on buying a brand new scout fuel trailer that you still have to top off with gas.
Hope this helps out new Hard Mode players.

Hard mode makes the game much more interesting and rewarding. Now that it is available, my brother and I never went back. I just completed Kola Peninsula (safe for logginf, which I may or may not return to later) and boy oh boy was it tough. Not sure I'll do Amur though... :(

Thank you so much! I have been wanting to do a hardcore play but was almost discouraged. Great content. Subbed and liked. Also your voice is soothing and you don’t use vulgar language.

Appreciate the feedback @rockyjetproject1345 !! I was also skeptical of doing it hard mode as many folks said it just added tedium without any added enjoyment or anything - my experience has been the exact opposite. It's created real risk and reward for the game, along with more decision making a strategy - I can't imagine playing it any other way now.

Thank you great vid, I echo the same sentiments as @rockyjetproject1345 !!! ... & LoL 🤣, I thought of using the service truck to repair the fleetstar & without thinking further gave up on that idea because I could not hitch the service truck to the Chev CK1500, not thinking of winching it to each other instead 🤦‍♂ ...I know, stupid hey 😂🤪

I spent all of yesterday trying to get a start in Snowrunners hard mode, after having finished Mudrunner in the previous weeks (with the latter half of the map done in hardcore mode) and it was an extremely shitty experience because it's just so ridiculously punishing when you don't know yet what tasks to prioritize and more importantly, which ones to avoid. I mean, sure, I got the raised suspensions and engine upgrade for the scout and I got the engagable 4WD for the Fleetstar, but after that, things would invariably fall apart on me - and I tried for over 12 hours yesterday.
Going back with your recommendations now because apparently I'm a glutton for punishment.
Honestly, the devs decision to have just two modes with one having virtually no difficulty *and* giving you every DLC vehicle from the start and one that offers an actual progression but is almost impossibly difficult was just a completely awful one. Normal mode should've been called easy, hard mode sure can be called hard, but there should be some intermediate mode with actual progression that's not retardedly difficult and I'd argue that it should be the default choice for difficulty.

Hello, I have a question regarding hard mode. I want to play it in multiplayer with some friends, everybody fresh start. When recovering the fleet star, does everyone get one or only the host?

    • @andwmi

Only the host gets the vehicles for free. Everyone else keeps the experience level unlocks.
