This Can't Be Real!!!

- But it's DEFINITELY real! This snowblower throws 2.5 tons of snow per minute and hurls it over 40 feet! I've seen it throw 70 feet uphill with NO WIND! Couple that with 4 Wheel Drive, nearly 33 Horsepower and the ability to go almost anywhere! All while sitting in the comfortable air ride seat! Want even more comfort? Get the heated cab! Since I don't move snow commercially, and adding the cab changes the slope rating, it's just not something I've ever really needed.

I too am waiting. And waiting.... My Ventrac dealer assures me I won't need tire chains. I have the same KX setup as you with a similar hill on my driveway. What are your thoughts?
Years ago, I had chains made for my 4200. We lived in Northern Maine at the time and in addition to a lot of snow, we also had a lot of ice! They were a BIG help. We've been back in SE Pennsylvania for a few years now and there was a time or two where chains came in handy for the ice under the snow. I don't know if I'll use the Ventrac Narrow Tires w/ chains for snow events but I've used them in dual form for brush cutting steep banks and they are awesome!
Awesome. I have a question regarding which snow attachment(s) I should get. I live in Milford, MI (low-middle of state). We just got a small blizzard 10-12" last night. I habe the power bucket w/grapple which is what I used to clear driveway, turnaround, and our private street (approx. 300' long). It took me almost 4 hours last night. I'm debating getting the 72" plow with end pieces or the snow blower. Which do you recommend?
Any thoughts on the V-blade? I'm thinking the straight plow ia better than v-blade b/c it can be used year round for dozing.
Another thought I had was to get the 72" plow and power broom as an alternative to the snow blower. Again can use plow and bloom for other seasons and projects is my thinking. We don't get crazy amounts of snow here very often. The 10-12" in one night we haven't seen in over 10 years.
Brian, when I lived in Northern Maine, I was using the Slip Scoop to clear our gravel driveway which was over 500 feet long plus a parking area over 3,000 square feet between the house and barn. That took quite a while and I knew how much more efficient the blower would be! Pushing snow is WAY slower than using a good snow blower like the Ventrac has! Since you already have a way to push the snow, get the blower! You will NOT be disappointed, especially in deep snow events!
@Blue Cord Thanks Bradley! That's the push I needed. I love the slip scoop/power bucket, I agree it can be tedious and slow.
What are your thoughts on the power broom as well? Is it worth getting in addition to blower?
@@brianshively4746 The Broom is what I consider a specialty attachment. Not that most Ventrac attachments aren't specialty. What I mean is that I got by without a broom for nearly 20 years and sometimes wished I had once but nevertheless, used other attachments in its stead. However, for moving snow or debris down to the pavement, there is nothing better. As a general rule, if the snowfall is less than 4 or 5 inches, the broom will handle it well, but also the KX snowblower will do great in a 4 inch snow event. It's really your personal preference and how much you're willing to spend on a capability
@Blue Cord Spot on, appreciate the guidance. Looks like a blower and broom are in my queue. Wife is on board so I need to GOGOGOGOGO!!!
I worry about that tree with two vertical leaders getting sprayed with the blower. Big risk of it splitting - at least in my area (TX). Love Ventracs tho, thanks for the vid
Glad you enjoyed the video but I have to ask...How much snow do you blow in Texas to be so well versed in the risk of tree splitting? By the way, I hope you're one of our followers that enjoys a good exchange. As former Airborne Infantry, I can get pretty colorful in a back and forth exchange, but this is all public, so I have to be careful haha!
Dearth of snow here too, I think the far west is hogging it all up. Bradley; the "blow snower" you have in the opening scenes seems to maybe be different than the ones in action. In the opening scenes the blower looks brand spank'n new with white auger and no wear of powder paint where as the ones from older snips seems to have dark colored auger. No? Yes?
The snowblower is 7 years old. The oldest shots of it in the this video are about 2 years old
I ended up blowing most of my yard off. Ventrac tires make nice snow stripes and leave the snow very grippy once it firms up.
We barely got a dusting so far this winter. The forecast was calling for a little bit of snow and...nothing. Not that I mind since I don't count on snow for income, it's just that I don't get to have fun on the Ventrac
For as easy of a winter many are experiencing this year we have to believe it can and will be just as extreme in the other direction at some other time. Variation is so high. Expect the unexpected!
The KX is awesome in action. Actually, it's even awesome standing still. When you pull off a couple of covers and look (drool) at this drive system done right you start to realize what you're looking at: awesome mechanical engineering. A true gladiator! Certainly devoid of any fragile and high-wear worm drive system to spin the augers.
It's gonna happen, it's only a matter of when!
Looks like you neighborhood road needs a seal coat. With all those cracks the freeze thaw cycle may cause it to crack apart.
Yeah, and entropy is the boss! It ain't gonna get better by itself :) This road was put in about 1998
No snow no complaints here. I do enjoy you working in the snow with that awesome ventrac
LOT'S of enjoyment!
Always nice to see shots of the snowblower in action!
Yeah! Me too!
Yeah we got one snow storm over Christmas break then nothing else just yet
Anthony, we got a little bit of ice slush a couple weeks ago but quickly melted away later in the day
Yeah this winter going really slow I’m just ready for summer
Cool video thats a great machine you got there .
Thanks, Raymond! I really love my equipment!
