Funny, the reason Koba gave to wanting to go to war with humans was because Ash got shot by a human, only for Koba to kill Ash anyways. It was never about the well being of other apes, it was about his own selfish goal to kill humans for what they did to him.
And to show that apes have become no better than humans. They'll kill themselves to get ahead.
mustve been a republican.
yes exactly
Excuses/reason to furthur your goals.

Yup
Stil a bit confused but seems like the new mobies are a remake tht lossly try to fit the old ones
A wonderful day indeed
26:35 makes it feel like ceaser is a Moses figure. Freed his people from slavery and leads them to promise land. He dies right before he gets there pretty interesting.
The avalanche is literally the Red Sea crashing down on the Egyptians
@@Humanwall123 good point and the fact that his son leads them into the “promised land”
Yes, that's exactly how it's supposed to be. Cesar/Moses would lead their ppl to the promised land, but wouldn't live to be with them.
@@paulnicholson5997 yeah, it’s also interesting that ceaser is the “law giver” ie the ten commandments
@The_christian_worker Yeah, I really like how they kinda loosely wove the newer stories in a way that the newer ones could have been in the OG's far past. Even with some change in details. I mean, hell, 4 thousand years from now, I doubt recorded history would be accurate. So any changes could be a possibility.
So many people are so misinformed about the relationship between the new movies and the originals and so I really appreciated that comprehensive intermission that accurately describes their relation
What do you mean when when the new films are remakes not a prequel
@@symbolofpeacetv1578 youre half right, they aren’t prequels but they aren’t remakes either. They are just inspired by the original movies. The continuity wouldn’t make sense if they were in the same timeline so they can’t be prequels. But they aren’t remakes either though. None of the new movies tell the same story, it’s set way before those films how can it be a remake lmao. That’s like saying Batman begins is a remake of Batman (1989). Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes movie is a remake. This is a reboot.
@@billymanziel5666 they're prequels and reboots smh
@@SupportGamin2024No it’s a reboot. They rebooted the series and started from the origins and will continue telling their new story.
Fun thread
The amount of homage that the reboot gave to the "orginal" films is actually crazy
I’m so glad I watched this since I’ve never seen the older originals before seeing the newest kingdom installment. Can completely agree and was nerding out when I saw little nods to them!
@@ididntasktobehere The hosing, Bright Eyes, Cornelius, and so SO much more! It's amazing!
@@ididntasktobehereI thought the new one was great. Until just now as I get exposed to the original.
Kinda wish I'd just watched it instead cos god damn it's spoiled now. Serves me for doubting and not just watch it😭😭😭
I have never watched the original, so it took me as a surprise when "ape not kill ape" is from the original series!
The director of Kingdom and the original writers of Dawn don't see it as a "reboot". The director of Kingdom has said that there is no reason why the series needs to be rebooted, that these movies could simply be prequels with all the current movies leading right up to the first film. Its really not paying homage when your actively connecting them.
Every major ape is named either Caeser, Cornelius or blue eyes 😂 just like humans. Great video

@@veganbeastmodesuper underrated trilogy, glad you liked it
POV: You are Joe Rogan
What a pointless comment. You don’t matter here, we aren’t your friends, get a life if you comment about yourself thinking people care.
My favorite scene in the whole series is when Caesar and his human family are the table for breakfast. The dad shows obvious decline in mental faculties and Caesar gives this “oh no!” type of expression.
As someone who’s grandparents both died of Alzheimer’s I have seen that look many times 😢
Agreed, I made sure to include that shot because it was so effective. Always stood out in my memory.
I’m sorry about your grandparents 🙏 it’s a very difficult and heart breaking thing to see
So basically if Curious George went horribly wrong
That's surprisingly accurate.
😅
😂
😂 oh dang maybe it's part of the loop
More like if George was done being curious Lol 😂
Ok but were is Mark Wahlberg
In the future, if you didn't know that PotA wasn't connected to this series and was to be a somewhat faithfulish remake of the original from the 60's where a group of astronauts hit an anomaly, land on a planet full of apes, only to find it is actually Earth just several thousand years into the future, it'd be cool if they did connect them but I doubt they will, most people didn't like Tim Burtons film (I thought it was the best one) and Mark seems like he trys to forget he ever did it.
He's currently dealing with autonomous robots from another planet. 😂
Now that it's established that we are stuck in an infinite loop of events that only changes in minor ways due to time travel, the Mark Wahlberg movie can coexist in the same universe in a pocket dimension, or as the new loop's beginning (since it took place 3,000 years after the Charlton Heston movie.)
Four things occur in this POTA timeloop: !: Apes get smart 2: they overthrow mankind 3: Mankind eventually regains control 4: Apes once again become mute animals... then the cycle begins anew. You have instances of Caesar time traveling from the future back to the 1970s, astronauts time traveling to the future from 1972, apes going back to 1974, etc. Each time those Hasslein warps occur, it tinkers with the timeline, which was why the Icarus left earth in 1972, but after the apes traveled back to time, now the Icarus leaves earth in 2010. At first, mankind blew itself up, after the time travel, now mankind died out from a virus: a virus that was brought to earth accidentally by the time traveling apes.
That’s a remake of the Charleston Heston movie
Not canon doesn’t count fuck that movie
In the original humans were destroyed by nuclear weapons. In the reboot they were destroyed by a virus. That's another continuity difference.
Humans were literally going to war against each other in dawn and in war
@@SupportGamin2024
Yes but no nukes were ever used it was more like small scale regional wars over resources as civilization collapsed same as in The Walking Dead and any other post Apocaliptic movie between the end of Rise and the start of Dawn and the last human vs human war was over how to deal with the new strain of ALZ that was making humans lose their cognitive functions the general wanted to kill all newly infected humans basically the same useless response we see with zombies in The Walking Dead. The third strain only left a very small remnant of humans that were immune to the third strain while most became cognitive impaired which is what we see in Kingdom but if anyone uses nukes it will be apes and not humans that launch them if not Maximus then another Ape megalomaniac like him.
@@SupportGamin2024no not dawn, they were just trying to communicate with the rest of the humans that were left in the world, but yeah in war they were
In the original, the reason apes rose to power was because there was a plague that wiped out all the dogs and cats so humans took in apes as pets and servants. There's no mention of this in Dawn. In fact there's a dog in Dawn and that's why Caesar asks if he's a pet. So basically Dawn can't be a prequel.
@@mrwog82 Yup and the apes evolved naturally that was also a misunderstanding of how evolution/adaptation worked at the time. In the reboot the retrovirus which was designed to replace diseased human brain cells DNA with healthy ones so James Franco character knew he was in effect creating ape/human hybrids out of the test subjects but it was the only shortcut way to test his ALZ1 retrovirus to then try to use it to cure Alzheimer and later other genetic degenerative diseases down the line. So yes the reboot retains many elements from the original but in essence its a completely new story or the story told from a more comprehensive scientifically speaking lens. Yes technically none of the reboot movies can possibly land in the 1968 movie because its a parallel story with its own origin story which resembles the original but is not the exact same.
As someone who watched the Original Planet of the Apes films, the Reboots, Remakes, or prequels whatever they are did justice to the OGs so I'd be happy with them if they were prequels or remakes
or us the multiverse concept... and its two different Earths...

Roddy McDowal as Ceasar was a perfect pick and one, if not his greatest, of roles. The speech he gives at the end of conquest resonats authority and haunting reverence. What I loved about the originals were those bleak endings. I will never forget seeing the statue of liberty like that for the first time. And I will never forget the ending overhead shot of escape, where zira and cornelius die in each others arms.
Most movies today are too afraid to end on such note.
@@thepieofyourlife4799And so were most movies back then. The first one is easily a masterpiece. I just watched it and the political and philosophical commentary is even more relevant than it was before... sadly.
@@OneTakeVids Dude why are you just sayign those 2? The entire old saga is worth watching, each fim has it's own greatness, even the worst of them. Whether the timeline is a Temporal Shift or Temporal Paradox is still debatable, but they work pretty well. THe OG sets up the world with the mystery and action and adventure. Beneath shows us the folly of Man as the conflict between Man and Ape leads to Earth's destruction, then Escape starts off fun and mostly lighthearted and kind of adorable seein Cornelius and Zira who loved Taylor and helped Humans in the firt 2 films interact with the Human world, only for Man's fear of the future to drive Hasslein to kill them in a tragic ending, but Caesar's survival leads to the Ape uprising as he sees 2 things, his people bein unjustly enslaved, and the death of Armand, his Human adoptive father who instilled into him empathy and compassion, which is why despite the Ape rebellion being violant and destructive we see in Battle that Caesar, wants to build peaceful society between Man and Ape, he wants to be equals but is taking it slow as he wants to see if thes current generation of Man will be any different, a Gorilla named Alto leads his own rebellion and by the end dies, and while it seems there will be peae between Man and Ape, we don't know as we cut to 600 years later with peace, but there's still 1,400 years for things to change to how they were durign the OG film.
A really good summary of the whole franchise. I hope the reboot sequels continue until the time when Taylor lands on the planet.
they will 😊
They might have foreshadowed that in Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes
Sorry that makes no sense. They are not connected. How xan they be. They are not the same plot.
My theory, is that the Virus that killed the pets still exist but the apes are carriers. Becuase they went back in time the timeline was acclerated.
🤔

This was actually my first thought so I’m pretty sure this is true. Whether they ever touch on it or not. That’s the only real explanation I have.
Man the OGs just get more and more unhinged lol. Cool too see callbacks with names and things like Alpha Omega being the brand given to apes in War
My take: the remake is better than the original
Yeah 😕
I agree, I think it’s because of what both age groups went through growing up tbh. The older ones came out during the Cold War and communism, so nukes were the thing everyone thought would kill us all. And then we’ve had the bird flu, Ebola, covid, and however many other sicknesses we’ve seen, so we got to watch a virus make apes superior

One thing I never noticed is the extra awareness in Caesar after being exposed to the 113 drug. Dint notice till I got it pointed out to me
The 113 gave him the ability to speak. He already had a higher consciousness bc of being born with the 112. It's why he really is the only one who can speak at length, while the rest use sign language.
@@brooke5258 Koba spoke too, he was the test ape for the 113. Also Caesar stole the 113 drug and exposed the other apes which is the reason some can speak in war and their descendants in the new movie.

Great summary, good job on trying to connect the plot lines together of all of the movies
Great overview. The sequels to the original are on a completely different timeline and the Cesar origin story is obviously completely different. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said the new movies are more of a way of explaining how the world ended up controlled by apes like we saw in the original, I think the early movie references are more of a nod to the original than anything else.
I loved watching this, the hour just went by! It finally explained a lot of things for me.
Wonderful video editing and amazing narrating with a captivating voice.
Well, the concept is truly beautiful. If we look past the continuity issues, it seems like the apes took over the planet, and in the future, men will become the primate. The fact that in the original 2 apes escape and land on Earth and they have a son Cesar is proof that Earth is doomed and that in the original they landed on the future Earth. I love these details and imagination to do a sci-fi like this.

I needed this tbh. To understand the sheer size of the two POTA universes
Wasn’t familiar how deep this went but it goes hard
As someone who’d only watched the 2011 movie in the theater and that “No” and everyone’s reaction to Cesar speak forever engrained in my head, to me, this timeline hits hard (regardless of inconsistencies with the continuity) how it comes full circle with the “old” movies that take place in the distant future and the “new” movies that show what led to said future
Makes me wanna watch the entire new and old series of movies and come back to watch this timeline that should get me seasoned before watching KoTPotA

Okay , this is not complicated. The Reboot ape movies ARE NOT prequels to the original franchise. Anyone whose watched Escape from The Planet of The Apes and Conquest of The Planet of The Apes and paid close attention would know that. Their are three SEPARATE Apes films timelines. The first timeline is the original movies
The second timeline is the Tim Burton Remake
The third SEPARATE timeline is the reboot movies . Yes , they have similar ideas , characters and events from the original franchise but they apart of a new SEPARATE timeline . The Caesar in Rise is not the same Casaer as in Escape and Conquest. The Reboots are just that REBOOTS . Their shouldn't be any debate , the logic makes perfect sense.

I only remembered the first planet of the apes from the original set and remember an astronaut returning to earth when the planet is already taken over.
But I didnt know there was a series where the apes return in time
You're referencing the Tim Burton reboot. It more closely followed the ending from the book. In the book, it's a straight space voyage to a planet and back to earth. When he gets home, it has been taken over. I suspect when they made the original in '68, it was cheaper to have the ape planet be Earth than to film a return voyage.
The book:
He brings Nova back with him teaching her speech. If I remember right, she gives birth. The kid learning speech during the trip helps Nova to learn.
