Great review, thanks. Just note that even in plug-in hybrid cars you don't need to necessarily plug it in or worry about charging it up. They work similar to non-plug-in hybrids just offer an additional way of charging that lowers fuel consumption significantly.
I have one of these. Fantastic car. It's so smooth. Easy and light and Toyota deserves credit for safety. Some small folibles but the good outweighs the bad. For the price - amazing value. Thanks for the review.
I’d be very interested at what those small foibles are. It’s always good to hear from real owners. I’m in the market for the GX (not the Cruiser) and about to place an order. Cheers!
Yeah you’d think she would have done her homework on that point. I was surprised her fuel consumption was as high as she claimed seeing as it was mostly suburban driving.
Might become our top selling vehicle soon.....if they can address their supply issues. The right size and look for many people. Effectively a Jeep with Toyota build quality. The inside is a huge improvement, as is the frontal styling. It was too soft on the previous model.
One bad point (and I have to fully agree with her) is the poor quality reversing camera. For a new car in 2020 it should be a lot better! My 2017 Subaru XV is VERY clear and bright, making reversing (particularly at night) quite easy.
@@rmleider It works quite well actually, although I prefer to turn it off. It's a good safety feature but for me it still feels like someone keeps grabbing the steering wheel on me haha.
I ordered mine 6 months ago and was supposed to take delivery this week (February 2021) but delayed indefinitely. The Melbourne dealer advised that there's a global parts shortage (notably computer chips) plus the massive global demand and Toyota can't keep up. The dealer advised there's a meeting next week with Toyota Australia to discuss what they're doing about it and firm up new delivery dates.
Is Australia getting the RAV4 Black Edition at all and if yes, when is it coming here? I see it is already launched in US and Europe and looks stunning. I did try and call a couple dealerships here and no one seemed to know anything about it yet. Any update on that new color scheme would help me firm up my buy
Is it a 2wd or a 4wd? 2lt or 2.5lt? What’s the service interval? I heard that you have a connect it with wires for apple car play, why have wireless charging then? What kind of a review is this? No negatives?
Pretty sure this was the 2wd. All the hybrids have a 2.5l engine. Car play is connected via a cable and the wireless charging pad is for when you don’t want to use car play
Firstly, has the 2021 RAV4 Hybrid arrive for sale in Oz yet? If not when? (I know the 2021 new Camry comes out March/April 2021) How much extra is the plug in option? Is the drive quiet now? (Quieter than the Camry?) Does it have a soft ride? or is the suspension stiff? (Soft as the 3030 Camry?)
Thats a very nice looking car. I love how they blacked it out. Im sure that color will even be more beautiful when the sun hits it. Too bad i cant afford another car right now. 😜
The cruiser looks great in this colour, but I fear keeping it clean will be a nightmare and not worth it. I was originally looking to get this colour but now thinking the red instead?
I'm just a touch over 6ft and my head touches the roof of the limited and a tight two finger gap with the seat right down in the GX range. Leg room behind driver is ok.
I got mine delivered last week. However not happy with the speaker quality at all. Was expecting a great performance Jbl speaker but totally disappointed. The sun roof is not motorised. Also there is no dial in my model next to the gear. The drive is pretty good though. Phone keeps moving and stops charging, so that definitely needs improvement.
She does often mention her 180 cm husband, or at least she used to. However her reviews are mainly aimed at the woman’s point of view so in that regard at least her height is not as much of a problem.
Me finks that your review was great but dont agree with your 8.1 rating. It would take a perfect suv to beat this. The rating should be around the 9.00 mark.Stay safe kiddo.
Can Toyota designers stand up? Why is RAV4 designed so ugly? Can the black plastic on the rear of the car be removed? The black plastic on the front of the car is removed, what's the matter with the display in the car? Why is it designed so high?
Taste is individual. I see nothing wrong with the design. However, I wish Toyota did some minor improvements including HUD, higher resolution on display, and bluetooth connectivity for apple carplay/androidauto. Nevertheless Toyota is struggling to keep up with the demand.
That’s really surprising to hear. Did you previously drive a V6 or a large turbo engine? I’m really interested to know. I’ve done 2 test drives of the GX model and was very impressed with the take-offs.
Actually, less things go wrong with Toyota hybrids which is why they are cheaper to service and maintain. The batteries also last forever unless you don’t take care of the fans which keep the batteries cool.
I've got a 2021 Rav4 Hybrid, it's got all the kit and does 51mpg, i love it

City driving will get better economy than highway driving with a Hybrid like the Rav4 or Camry . Which is counter to how it is with non Hybrids.
Yeah you’d think she would have done her homework on that point. I was surprised her fuel consumption was as high as she claimed seeing as it was mostly suburban driving.
In USA we get 38 to 39 mpg in city. And 36 on highway... She did the math wrong
She is the best from all the videos that I watched! Loved the review!
I own a 2015 rav 4 and I don't find it boxy and it drives beautifully and I did not pay 48k it.

In N. America, the Rav 4 is the best selling car/suv on the market. The only vehicle that sells more is the Ford F150.

This lady does an amazing review on a cool looking vehicle
Awesome review as always! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I always look forward to your reviews
Nice and practical review, good for normal families who do not understand too much tech.

Not at this stage no.

That screen right in the middle like someone put a AM radio with tiny screen. Just that bezel is so large.
Why do the back seats not sit [fold down] flat?, why at a raised angle??...
you think in 2021 they would by now, be able to get this detail right!
Does anyone is there is any difference between the 2020 and 2021 model of the rav4?

What’s the difference between 2020 & 2021 even minor changes. Someone could please reply
None based on what I read in many reviews. However, I believe somewhere around August 2019, RAV4 Hybrids switched over to Li-ion from Ni-mh battery.
The V6 needs to come back to the Rav4. Even if it is V6+Hybrid.

No one buys a Toyota because it's good looking.
Needs a turbo petrol engine to be taken seriously in 2020.
