My skincare journey did not happen until I had more mature skin. I have found that I enjoy the science of skincare ingredients/products and I consider the time I spend on skincare to be an important part of finally taking care of myself. For the laniege skin mist which was a fave for me, I just bought the regular one and poured it into a mist bottle. Muji do really nice mist bottles with fine sprays, I use them for toners as I prefer that instead of applying with my hands or cotton pads.

@kelly Driscoll so I have combo/oily skin which seems to be drying out since I started using Rx tretinoin. I use skinfix triple lipid peptide cream but it doesn’t seem to be enough the next morning (especially when I use tretinoin). Do you think I can benefit from slugging??

Hi Kelly, have u tried Klairs Black fresh cleansing oil?? It consists of only 6 ingredients and its lightweight. Try it....its awesome. I love that stuff.

Hey Kelly. Random question. I just started using differin adapalene , how long until my skin looks better? Ik it’s like 6-8 weeks. But I think my barrier is slightly damaged? I use it 2x a week, and I use BHA 2x a week. Should I discontinue use of all other exfoliates? Is 2x a week enough to see results? The retinoid journey is such a struggle :( & I’m wondering if I should just go for the OG tret? But tret scares me 😢 I thought adapalene would be a easier transition but idk. My skin looks rough.

I'd give it at least another month, about 3 months is the general advice as far as purging goes. If your skin doesn't feel too irritated the BHA is probably fine. Just make sure everything else is gentle and be open to changing your moisturizer if your skin feels tight or dry.
Hey Kelly! Did you try out the new Purito avocado cleansing balm or the Geek&Gorgeous 101 mighty melt balm? Right now i search for a new respectful cleanser that doesn't strip my skin. I recently tried out the Avene xeracalm cleansing oil, but it surprisingly irritated and dried out my face badly:(

G&G jelly joker cleanser is a super mild 2nd cleanser (gentlest i have found that leves no film, it is so nice not having to be careful about how much i apply). I have very dry skin and im pretty prone to getting dried out by cleansers.
For 1st step cleanser so oil or balm cleansers i never find those stripping on my skin, though some leave a filmwhich i dislike 🤷♀️ for reference i like the g&g balm because it melts quickly in my hands and leves no film. I also hated that avene cleanser i do not handle oil like cleansers that foam up, i find them extremly stripping (i tried 2 now so i am conviced the category just Doesn't work for me since i hated both products) . If you are like me you might also not like Glycerin cleansers (they are not as stripping as the avene/foaming oil cleansers but they leave a nasty film on the skin).

@@misskiwi5460 oh wow, thank you! I tought about getting that cleanser too. But it is a gel cleanser right? Every gel cleanser i tried irritated my skin, thats why i was afraid to buy it. I usually go for milk cleansers that nurish my skin. I personally love a film🙈Thats why i tough a balm would probably work great for me. Guess i just have to try it out:D
@@binabina6196 if your skin is really dry you can just use a balm or oil cleanser as your 1st and 2nd cleanser at night and skip cleanser alltogether in the morning (i did that when my skin got super dry and irritated one winter - there is no rule saying you need a dedicated second cleanser. Also the tend to be very milky when used on damp skin). Personly with balm and oil cleanser i find they are all equally gentle as long as the ingredients are gentle (so no fragrance etc). So with oil and balm cleansers i dont find products that leave a film are gentler but your experience may vary. The beauty of joseon balm cleanser is richer than the g&g but i find it Doesn't melt as well in my hands when it's cold. I would try just using your oil/balm cleanser as a second cleanse and see how you like it. If you find you prefer a dedicated 2nd cleanser i have heard good things about the yamroot cleanser but i have not tried it and likely wont since a film on my skin is dealbreaker now that i know there are gentle products that dont form a film on my skin.
Hey Kelly, i was wondering if mixing the illiyoon cream and real barrier extreme cream is okay to do, my skin doesnt seem to be satisfied with just the illiyoon but missing it when i only apply the real barrier
There's nothing wrong with mixing 2 moisturizers, especially if it's helping your skin!

RNW Ceramide mist is lovely!!! 🤍🤍🤍 and the HaruHaru Wonder cleansing oil is the best! I love the Sensibio micellar water but it burns my eyes so bad
Don't forget to "clear the drains" FIRST (so rub/tap the armpits/chest/collarbone/around ears drainage spots) before starting on your face to give the lymph somewhere "empty" to go to.
