| Block Windows Feature Updates
👉 A safeguard hold (aka a compatibility hold or update block) is when Microsoft prevents devices from being offered a new Windows 10 feature update if there are known compatibility issues with hardware configuration, software, or settings.
Microsoft places these holds to prevent severe problems in Windows 10, such as BSOD crashes, performance issues, devices not working, or general system instability.
When placing devices in a safeguard hold, it can be very frustrating for users as there is usually little information on how to resolve the issue, and users have to wait for Microsoft or a third-party developer to resolve the issue.
Generally, users can find more detailed information in the Windows 10 Health Dashboard, but even then, it may not be enough for a user to understand what to do next. And usually, there isn't much a user can do.
Disable Safeguards for Feature Updates option to bypass compatibility block to force upgrades (such version 20H2) through Windows Update. Warning: Installing a new version of Windows 10 when there is a compatibility problem can cause problems. Don't follow these steps, unless you know what you're doing and you understand the risks. Also, editing the registry is risky, and can damage your installation. Use these steps at your own risk.
👉Manual Disable Safeguard Holds
1) Gpedit.msc in the Run Command box.
2) Now navigate to the following from the left pane:
3) Local Computer Policy - Administrative Templates - Windows Components - Windows Update - Manage updates offered from Windows Update
4) Now double-click “Disable safeguards for Feature Updates in the right pane.
5) From the policy window, select the Enabled radio button, and then click on Apply and Ok.

As per standard practise,can we enable safeguard in prod envt.

Not Recommended.
But if you know the reason for safeguard hold like (Any application blocking upgrade) you can fix that issue and remove the safeguard hold.
Follow phase wise deployment approach if u r planning to remove and do proper testing.
