Bubinga’s are the perfect kit for metal. Deep booming tones with not much highs. Most tama artists in the rock and metal genres play either starclassic BB’s or starclassic bubingas. My two favorite kits in the entire world hands down. I have a starclassic BB hyperdrive and saving up for a tama starclassic Bubinga exotic kit.
I play jazz, rock, prog, and fusion and I will say that they're a lot more versatile than that. Bubinga is basically a slightly darker cross between a maple and birch shell. It accentuates highs and lows, and is slightly softer in the mids than a maple shell. Whenever you hear something with a very aggressive and pronounced attack, that's a high end frequency. Maple is smooth and softer on the highs resulting in a much more mellow, round sound. The shells in the SC line aren't all that different from one another. Construction methods, build quality and hardware all have more to do with the sound than the just the material it's built from.
This dude's expression.... To finish the job off he should have a spittoon by the hi hat and occasionally spit some foul bacca cud into it... That's missing here around the 3:00 mark.
I'm waiting for my own mirage. They're amazing drums, I'm in love since I saw this video. Do you have any suggestions on head combination for toms and how to clean a clear acrylic shell like these? Greetings from Argentina
I’m not really a great drummer, but I’ll try to help. I think you should just start with singles very slowly across drum set and gradually speed it up, it’s kind of tricky to got fast from the floor toms up to the higher toms but with a bit of practise you can get it! I’m practicing the same thing!
Damn this acrylic kit destroys the pearl crystal beat acrylic kit and destroys dw’s design series acrylic kit. This is the only acrylic kit I would ever play. Sounds very good and looks better than the others.
Honestly for the price, this is by far the best buy. Overall, the DW is better (RCI shells, better hardware), but the difference in quality is minimal so you're not able to justify double the price for 1.2x the sound and quality of materials. Both of them completely obliterate that joke that Pearl calls the Crystal Beat.
Yeah I played both next to each other and this Tama silverstar mirage felt and sounded way better than the dw design series and looks better imo. But something about this kit was surprisingly nice and super punchy and felt so much better than the dw.
After owning this kit for the last few years and using to play live, record multiple albums, and just have fun on, I can say without a doubt I’m glad I bought it over the options from DW or Pearl. This kit is AMAZING.
I watch all this guy's videos! So effortless and cool sounding, and FAST. I am curious about the acrylic snare, and I can't find videos on the SLP version. It sounds very dry, is that the nature of acrylic? Does it sound good tuned lower?
Great demo, thanks! What heads are being used? The toms sound a little flatter to me than in other demos I've heard, I can't tell if it's the tuning or possibly your mic setup?
Just bought this kit, in love. Phenomenal sound. Also if you guys could subscribe it would be an immense help, I'm the drummer in an alt rock band from northern Virginia. Thanks
Patricio Ojeda Theres a lot of euro tama endorsers who play death and black metal with acrylics. You dont get the warmth or punchiness of wood. But its still fine if e'd properly. I would still use a SLP snare with them, not the kit snare.
Maybe the mic the preamp ant even the room have some influence on the tone, i think you should play them to really know what you are feeling from the drums... as they say dont judge a book for the cover
Acrylic drums are usually just really dark and punchy, not much else. Play them at outdoor gigs and this is basically what you hear. Indoors they sound pretty good.
Best air drumming ever.
Warm sounding drums for an acrylic kit and good clear attack. Great skills from Patrick as always.
The tone is amazing
I have this kit with an Emad Heavyweight and EC2's on the toms. Got a Tama SLP super aluminum to pair with it and I'm in love.
For an acrylic kit...it sounds awesome...Tama makes so damn good drums!
Yeah sooooo was not expecting that…. Hotndamn son… killing it!!
3:40... this drummer has good foot control.
OMG... beautiful drums.
Awesome drums and cymbals
See through kit looks pretty cool
Preciosa batería y gran sonido.
Damn impressive sound for acrylic
Cool groove man ... great
Otoniel Lainez Is this funky style ?
Got so much low end God!...
For an acrylic kit it's awesome!
Usually I like acrylic drums's tone except for the kick drum which often sound very weak. But this one sounded great on each drum !
These are insanely affordable. I kinda want a kit for metal. Right now my Bubingas are all around but a dedicated metal kit would be nice.

Hahahaha
great drum skills
Great drummer
If I had a clear shelled bass drum I would be too critical of my foot technique LOL!
Plus, I'd have to start wearing pants while I play!

Yup no nut scratching either..

I just bought these shells. Just use a microfiber cloth to clean them
@@AbeCastDrums Thanks my friend, it seems to work really good, I've been cleaning the kit with that type of cloth

Suggestions on being able to play that fast? Wow! 0:25

I am trying to find a 14” floor Tom for this kit.
Those drums sound great. Where are the mics?

by the way how did they record the sound
Tôi đả xem nhiều tay trống Trong RUclips không tay trống nào có phong cách biểu diễn tuyệt vời như S. white taiwan
did Yoshiki from X Japan play this set also?
This is great! I was wondering how you mic'd this? Thanks.
Hello, on all videos are used two overheads and two room mics
which overheads please ?
Sennheiser e914
They sound cool........
Price $$$$$. ???
Hello! This sounds awesome! May I know how this kit was mic-ed up for this video?
Gostei muito
Love the medium ride

can u tell me what are the drumheads he used ??
On all tom toms are Remo Emperor Clear, on snare Ambassador Coated, on bass drum is factory Tama head type Powerstroke 3 clear.
What would you say would be best heads for this kit if you could get any?
Hello, I'm about to get a shell pack, your opinion would help me a lot to chose the set with the best sound, what shell pack would you recommend me?
raulnieblas how much did it cost
Esa cuanto vale en pesos mexicanos???
how thick is the acrylic
Tama, DW or Pearl ??
ludwig!
Tama for sure
Tama, for their mounting system.
Tama
Tama for life
Nice playing and great kit and tuning. Can I ask how is you bass drum reso front side tuned? thank you
Hello, thank you very much :) Reso head is tuned little bit higher, than batter head.
Thanks for your reply, i can't believe how good it sounded without a pillow
Great demo, thanks! What heads are being used? The toms sound a little flatter to me than in other demos I've heard, I can't tell if it's the tuning or possibly your mic setup?
there are Remo Emperor clear heads on toms - this sound is typical for acrylic shells, they have little bit shorter sustain
Drumcenter cz emperor is not a good choice for these Drums
does it worth it in a studio?or maybe I have to look for another drum set?thanks a lot

Cost?
This set cost about 1.200,-USD.
Fuk that sounds good through head phones...
i think floortom tune much too high. if it lower sound good.
I heard Kevin James challenged this guy to a drum-off
This guy looks like gta 5 character 😶
Just bought this kit, in love. Phenomenal sound. Also if you guys could subscribe it would be an immense help, I'm the drummer in an alt rock band from northern Virginia. Thanks
Sean Hardy what heads would you suggest for acrylic?
Remo CS
either a remo emperor or evans g2 on the batter and remo ambassadors or evans g1s for the reso side
special for grindcore ??

Anyone else hear a little John Bonham tone in these Tama's?
You know the drums are awesome when the cymbals are the only thing on the kit that sound terrible
Moi les cercles grosse caisse sont noir
looks good but not much tone.
Maybe the mic the preamp ant even the room have some influence on the tone, i think you should play them to really know what you are feeling from the drums... as they say dont judge a book for the cover
I've bought this kit last summer. It actually has surprisingly a lot tone. Must indeed be the audio. The drums sound quit dead on this recording.
Acrylic drums are usually just really dark and punchy, not much else. Play them at outdoor gigs and this is basically what you hear. Indoors they sound pretty good.
I’ve had these drums for a few years and they sound substantially better than this video. Especially with the right heads.
The drums sound great, not a fan of the cymbals at all.
