I really hope that you like this video, I will post longer videos from here as I upload them. Finding this location and climbing was a challenge that paid off I think. It's rare that Osaka Itami uses Runway 14 for landings so I think I was lucky to get up there in time to capture these incredible landings. The pilots have great skill for these difficult approaches to the airport. We also had a crosswind so it makes it even more difficult. This video is complete with Air Traffic Control Audio (ATC). Japan Airlines Embraer Landing in a crosswind with a difficult approach. Osaka Itami airport in japanese is 伊丹空港. Like Paro

Aircraft Plane spotting around the world. At some of the best and busiest airports as well as some less known airports.
Human vision can be quite deceiving, I almost felt that it was going to land on the other run way in front of that small plane taking off.

@@arkadiusporebski Of course it can be explained it looked so because of the camera angle, but it just visually looked like about to land on the other runway.

OMG, I watch the video for 3 times founding out the aircraft was blowing to the runway under the control of pilot ,how amazing landing it it! love it!

When you are landing in a strong Crosswind the pilot must really be good with Rudder Control because the pilot has to turn the Rudder as such that the nose of the Plane is heading more into the wind and thus the thrust of his engines can offset the effect of the crosswind while not causing the aircraft to stall. If one uses too much rudder you can potentially stall the aircraft and too little and the aircraft will be blown off course.

I think the main issue here is the perspective that the camera has relative to the runway. If you look at the amount of crab angle it has relative to the runway when it gets close to landing then you can see that the crosswind isn’t that high. All the other manoeuvring seems to be down to the approach pattern (not a simple direct in to the runway, but a downwind leg, turning to right base and again to final).

Trying to understand. Can someone explain what's really happening here to the aircraft and why pilot has to make this different landing path that seems perpendicular to the runway? What is making the plane fly backwards and how exactly they were able to stop, point at the runway and make the landing safely?

it's normal standard procedure for landing at rwy 14L/14R at Itami (ITM/RJOO)... flying backwards it's just optical illusion
