I’m normally not a fan of anything involving “radiation” and mutations, but y’all made this world so immersive that, IMHO, it’s gonna go down as one of the best ever settings.
I plan on using some of this as the negative side effects of dust shards in Eberron. (If you aren't familiar, basically magic crystals with fragments of a Demon Lord's Soul in them)

Two accomplishments with this that aren't mentioned are:
1) Monty and Kelly made a setting that is great for Warhammer fans
and, even more special...
2) They made it AFFORDABLE!
Two rather unsung achievements if you ask me.
In another interview Monty cited Mordheim as an influence. Warhammer roots.

Warhammer and affordable don't often go in the same sentence, so that's worthy of note in and of itself.
This is nearly an exact copy of mordhiem, city of the damned, a city ruined by a magic comet that corrupts it. Adventurers going in to get magic rocks for money, all we need now is rat men to call it mordhiem 2: electric boogaloo.
So stoked I backed this, I might suggest if you put out another Kickstarter in the future (which I'd back in an instant) you make one of these videos for its release, this really helped me get into the mindset of the campaign more than just a trailer, but still stoked and can't wait.

You have taken so many steps in the right direction over the years, from releasing as a podcast format, to releasing your original campaign as a kickstarter, allowing me to give something back.

I love the world of Drakkenheim so much. I am about to start a open ended world building campaign. Players will be able to drop in or out on a weekly basis to make "looting" or exploration runs into the city. But unless the players really mess something up the factions will be in the stalemate, before the silver order shows up. Thank you guys for making this world and sharing it with us.
My first ever Kickstarter backing. I was only going to get the basic PDF version because of the shipping costs to the UK for the physical tier packages, but my partner (who also watches the show and loves the channel) offered to upgrade me to The Countess Tier. I have a busy schedule working two jobs, but DoD has been the highlight of my night to listen to. I'm currently working on a campaign of my own, similar to Drakkenheim, but instead of a meteor calamity, my city was sacked by the goblin horde and now months later the deposed prince is calling for adventurers to come and help reclaim the city which is overrun by monsters.
This sourcebook may be a great place to look for more inspiration. You guys have done a great job and I can't wait to see the finished product!

This is amazing, mate there's so much excitement for this pent-up within me. Especially the idea of personal quests sounds so juicy and wettening that it alone makes me wanna try this out.
I am DMing two games in a self created universe where the cores of the planets are made of a Crystal like material which has the capabilities to bind and hold the souls of the beings that died on the particular planet until a new body is free (to make sure transplanetar reincarnation is not taking place) as well as various dimension-linking/cosmos-stabilizing properties.
Now in one galactic/transdimensional event such a planet has been shattered and it's shards traveled through the Astral see creating all sorts of amalgamations of the original races that lived on the planet!
And these shards started raining onto other worlds letting these ancient souls reincarnate into the other worlds and souls of the locals being sucked into the shards of which some are being tempered with by liches and sorts.
I feel this will be a neat inspiration and add some valuable features I can use in my campaigns and I love the stream and cast!

Maaan, if this was a campaign pitch a DM was making to me, I'd be signing up so fast. It's really evocative and bursting with potential. This is probably the push I needed to start watching the live play campaign.
Ok, this book and setting sounds pretty cool. But I can't get over how much I want that Cornetto Trilogy shirt. Hot Fuzz is one of my all time favorite movies and gets better with each viewing.

I like running eberron, but I would love to put drakkenheim inside the mournlands, because they desperately need something meaningful inside, and the mechanics (and the story) you wrote in the book complement that area wonderfully!
So excited for Drakkenheim, it reminds me a lot of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R video games

I like the reward of the personal quests quite a bit. I've seen another campaign where they had a unique mile-stone ASI bonus where they received half an ability score increase (Essentially a plus 1) after completing a major goal, or stopping a prominent threat, or even accomplishing a major side-quest that would've spiraled into a major plot point had the players not investigated it further.
I feel with all the new feats in Tasha's, people could use these milestone 1/2 ASIs to round out ability scores, or maybe even let them save those points, and when the get an additional milestone ASI, trade both points in for a feat.
I don't think it'd be too game-breaking as your players wouldn't know when that extra ASI/feat would be coming, making it a risk reward system in terms of taking the extra ASI point, or save until they can take a feat.
Some of my acquaintances want to try and do free form RP with this. Kind of scary but can be alot of fun. If I decide to accept this challenge I will let you all know how it goes. Been years since I had done anything like this. Getting the feel of my character might be the real challenge.

So keen on this! I'm sooo excited to DM this for my friends (and lowkey jealous I can't be a player in my own campaign ahah). I was wondering what's the estimate release timeframe? The fall? Sorry if I missed it somewhere, but I'm very excited!!
We are expecting arrival to be April 2022. PDF versions are TBD but may be sooner.
Before I begin this adventure, I plan to create a character that can't be magical healed. It is part of his curse. A curse that can not be cured by any means.. Delirium Poisoning might be his biggest challenge. A natural cure would be needed to heal him. I love characters with major defects. I do this with very low ability score or with curses, sometimes both. (remember I last played during 2nd edition D&D)
I already made a character for this; the apprentice to Archmage that took over after Sebastian Crowe's mom stepped down. After an incident with the neighboring Tebaxi nation, both master and apprentice return to Drakkenheim as Rogue Mages, wherein they discover the city's destruction, as well as the Delirium. After experimenting with the Delirium for a time, madness begins to take the Archmage, but before he goes completely off the deep end, he seals himself away in a crystalline time capsule. Now it is the apprentice's duty (along with his faithful shark-dog companion, to venture into the city of Drakkenheim and find more Delirium to finish his master's research and cure him of his magical induced affliction, while avoiding those sent by the Tebaxi nation to capture or kill them, on top of everything else.
I can't wait for this to come out, and Kelly, that shirt is amazing.

Drakkenheim as described really reminded me of Le Monde from Vagrant Story.
Is there any aventures/One Shots who happen during the disaster? So players have to try and leave the city while trying not to die during and after the cataclysm
this is the first and only kickstarter I backed and I have only heard horror stories about kickstarter. i went with executioners treasure level. the goal got blown out of the water. lets hope no one regrets it. i just hope everyone who backed it gets the rewards they backed

How easy do you think integrating Personal Quests into other setting will be? I love this concept and want to make it part of my Session Zero moving forward!
The Personal Quests presented in the book are highly setting specific, but you should be able to adapt the model to your own campaign.

One day if I can afford it I would like to acquire your book because it has inspired me to come up with an idea for a mega campaign set in the City of Splendors, Waterdeep, using your book for inspiration as well as the numerous sources for Waterdeep and Undermountain.
Instead of destroying Waterdeep, I would have a planar rift open up in the depths of undermountain spilling out all kinds of extraplanar creatures pouring out of it with two big extraplanar forces fighting over the rift, as well as spreading madness and a terrible corrupting mist. All this would radiate up the levels of undermountain affecting all the different factions that call Undermountain home, causing even more fighting to break out. All this chaos would also radiate up into the city itself with it's hundreds of connections into Undermountain (Waterdeep is the tip of the proverbial iceberg that is undermountain.). I would then add the events of Waterdeep Dragon Heist as the scenario going on the surface which is influenced by the event going on in undermountain, and have the turf war between Xanathar's Guild and Manshoon's Zhentarum be even worse with active skirmishes happening all the time in the streets, alley,s, and warrens of the poorer wards of the city (the South Ward and the Docks Ward), causing the city to declare martial law in those wards having the City Watch and City Guard set up barricades blocking all access to those wards accept for those that have explicit written permission to enter for specific purposes or to have some sort of permit issued by other factions working to help the city.
I really want this module. But even tho it pains me, I will probably go for PDF, as a physical copy would cost me probably like 40 dolars more for shipping or something like that... I will see...

How difficult would you say Dungeons of Drakkenheim is to run from the DMs Perspective?
Great question! While Drakkenheim does have many moving parts, making the campaign concepts clear, well-organized, and easy to understand from a GM's perspective was a major goal. We feel that if you've run one of the introductory 5e modules, you're more than ready to run Drakkenheim.
I’m still working on listening to shadows of Drakkenheim at the moment. I think I’m on episode 8-9..
Can you tell me about the tactical map pack? Is it the maps right out of the adventure, or are they something else?
The Tactical Map Pack includes 8 double-sided maps featuring a minimum of 16 key Dungeons of Drakkenheim locations from the book. A few will be "generic" locations such as the city streets, sewers, and walls to use for random encounters during explorations, and the rest are maps of specific locations in the adventure. Each map will arrive in high quality poster paper, with full colour art, ready to use with miniatures and tokens at your game table.

How difficult would you Dudes say this would be to run in Roll20? How much work do you think would be involved?
The entire book and maps are available in the PDF version, so you should be able to take the maps and pop them in to your favourite VTT.

At this stage, the manuscript is complete and we are working on artwork, development, editing, and layout before it goes to print. Our goal is to ship the physical books around April 2022. We may be able to make the PDF before the physical copies ship, but the exact lead time on that is TBA.

Will the Shadows of Drakkenheim be added as an expansion to the Dungeons of Drakkenheim when your campaign is finished?
We might consider that for a future project, but as it stands the Dungeons of Drakkenheim book is jam-packed with content!
Why under the rewards area on Kickstarter does it say delivery in Apr 2022? If it reached funding within 5 minutes, what's with the 12 months or so of waiting?
While the writing for the book is complete, we need to commission artists, complete layout, editing, print, and ship the book. These things take time! Kickstarter helps us gather the funds to accomplish it.

Drakkenheim would probably adapt pretty well into Eberron - the city/land which was destroyed at the end of the last war.
