One scene in particular that made me like Gut's character a lot was when he first encountered Zodd, he sees that giant beast looking monster, freezes for a second, and when he realizes he is the one slaying his men he rushes towards him no hesitation. That was so badass, because up until that point no actual monsters were shown. Not in the anime, at least
Guts is the embodiment of the human struggle in all aspects possible and then some. Which leads to him being the biggest inspiration out there since he never stops going forward no matter how awful the world treats him and others. S tier character.
