  • The wide angle and panoramic RWS Decks have finally arrived. Apologies in advance for going on for so long, but I was both excited and fascinated by each card.
    You can find out more about the deck here ~ www.etsy.com/uk/listing/15824...
    Please note: I received these decks from its publisher for prospective review. Everything I’ve said here is sincere and accurately reflects my opinion of the deck.

    The expanded cards feel lonely somehow. The originals have such a sense of busy-ness that is lost with the expansion. Although it is fascinating.

      We can also interpret the space, for example, in the Empress that vast field, emphasizes the abundance, or the path to reach the High Priestess. I would use it as a central card and other RWS variants combined.

      In some cards, expectators or participants are added, example in the Justice card, which makes more sense.

      I get what you are saying, but it's the wide-angle ones (the square ones that have been expanded on all 4 sides) that suffer the worst from this - look how many times the "new" space above the main image is just totally wasted (plain sky etc). The panorama (landscape) ones get away with the expansion a lot of times (although even some of thse cards do look "vacant" at the sides).
      The artwork has been executed well, though - you couldn't really tell where the PCS ends and the modern artist begins.

    You can see how much thought the artist has put into the expansion of Pixie's scenes. Everything carefully considered. And they captured Pixie's art style perfectly so the additions don't jar. One or two of the interpretations are a little odd to my eye but that's because we're so used to the originals. What a wonderful deck to bring new energy to our reading of the RWS. Thank you! ♥(alixe rene)

It's not too long at all and your enthusiasm and understandable fascination with these gorgeous decks will be shared by many of us who watched I feel sure! Finally I found the time to watch TarotTube again so have been binchwatching a lot to catch up.
    I just loooove this deck especially the square one with the most expansion of the images. As you said the adding to the original paintings really made me aware of details that I either have overlooked or forgotten that they're there in the RWS. Another thing that I love is how some things that they added (like the wolfs in the Queen of Swords) that were completely out of their imagination really highlight one meaning that I associate with her and how I interpret her (your own, true, authentic and powerful voice) and in other cards sth that they added really gave me a slughtly new perspective or keyword/energy for that card. Such an amazing idea and even more mindblowing how they actually managed to do it. Thank you for sharing. The Mini Square definitely goes on my wishlist.

    Thanks for showing these beautiful cards - I love them all! The idea of showing the surroundings is brilliant. I´d really like to buy one or two decks, but the costs for shipping and taxes are absolutely ridiculous. To Germany I´d have to pay more than 85€ (just shipping and taxes) for two decks and more than 57€ for one deck. So, I put them on my list - maybe one day the Universe is gifting them to me ;-)

    Thanks for this review. I will buy the large one to get all the imagery. There are elements in the background of the cards that are overlooked, like the water on The Chariot, and then these versions interpret these elements. I love the cubs in the Strength, so the purpose of these RWS variants, like the New Vision (which I think was the 1st to add a new perspective) is to amuse us and broaden the traditional imagery. This deck does it.

    • @charyinvic
      @charyinvic 5 месяцев назад

      @the_hermits_cave Also now thinking, Strenght gives a family vibe, family strength, family is a source of strenght. The cubs represent new instincts that we need to dominate and we cannot accumulate. Also they explain why the lion is humble, he trusts the woman, they are in a familiar environment. Maybe she raised the lion, and now continues with his offspring, so we can develop multiple stories from the expanded imagery.

At about $99 Cdn plus another $56 Cdn shipping (rounded up to the nearest dollar), there is absolutely NO WAY I will order this, as much as I love the images and find the concept intriguing. Lovely idea, though.

    What a joy to have this extra long video to come to after trials and tribulations. Your Channel and everything you do and say is my 'Happy Place'. Whilst watching I can already see expansions to the meanings of the cards and deeper insights to interpretations . For quite a few of the cards I was hoping for more illustrative details, but probably difficult in terms of meddling with the spirit of the PCS's symbolic art...but still would have liked more. Truly amazing what they have done - I think 3 of Pentacles is my favourite. I seem to recall a shark in a version of the fool, jumping up with mouth open? I had never thought of Monty Python or the Lottery for the hands in the Aces - don't think I can thank you for that comparison! Made me laugh tho'. Oh if only Oneness Emporium could be their UK distributor...TOWN PLAN of the RWS? - 'Oh me oh my'...link? Will do a search for it - what an amazing poster that could be.

    I have been through so much watching this. What a Rollercoaster ride! Some I love, some, not so much. I do find the deck fascinating and compelling. My biggest complaint is some of the expansions definitely mess with the intentions of the original art and I am not sure I care for that.
    The most interesting thing I found is that the Fool jumping off the cliff is now a short drop, but the defense of the seven of wands is now from a high cliff. Can you imagine the lengths of those wands and how unruly it must be trying to be precise with those?
    Some of the expansions do feel like they were done just to mess with the original. I think if I worked with this deck, I might get over that. I am just such a fan of the original, even the endless clones I love. I'm an RWS girl through and through.

    I appreciate this side by side comparison! I wish there were more symbols, people & elements on each card. I like the sharks added on the Fool. Had additional elements been added on either left/right or top/bottom, we would be able to get deeper meaning by interpreting other cards in a spread that fall on the left/right or top/bottom. Like, if the 3 of swords is placed on the side of the sharks, then look out for an aggressor trying to betray. If ace of discs & 7 of swords watch out may be a thief afoot. If the sharks would have been dolphins, it would have been a nother meaning altogether. Most cards are too bare. I could imagine myself, but these are very expensive & they could have put more into it for the price. I have their Shuffle A deck & love it! That one really shakes up & sparks the intuition for me. If I get a windfall of $, I'll get it but otherwise may have to pass. If they do a second edition & add more on each card, I would def be all for the financial sacrifice lol

  • @karensorrentino9498
    @karensorrentino9498 7 месяцев назад

    There are aspects of the wide-angle images that help me conceptualize the meaning of each card, and the scene makes me wonder even more. I love the Aces and having a soul/spirit attached. Makes me think of guidance from above, be it a guiding spirit, the higher self, or past/future self, etc. With the hand unattached to the Ace of Swords, is like a warning to be careful because it is a double edged sword and it can cause harm if not careful. 4 of cups without a figure makes me think that the person is in a place of limbo and thus not looking for or accepting from spirit. I never thought about that ‘til now.
    Personally, I don’t like the shadows in some cards cuz they feel “off” as if the light was coming from different angles. Is this a message in itself?! The shadow catches my attention so it’s a good reminder ti think if all aspects of the meaning. I also wish the colors were a little muted. This is the kind of deck that I would love to hear the creators thoughts. I can imagine expansion decks with flanking cards cuz I wanna know more now. The 3 of pentacles took me to a specific area of Florence, Italy.
    Clearly this deck has got my mind flowing with ease, which is always a great sign. I could go on and on…
    Thanks for sharing this deck, your thoughts, and your excitement.
    Best wishes and have a wonderful Holiday Season🙏🏻

    What a novel idea! How perfect it seems to me that they used the 3 of Wands on the panoramic box as if to say expand your vision of what is ahead. The images I find are interesting, but also unnerving, mostly I think because of what we've been accustomed too. And in a way a lot of the images look to depict isolation with their subjects plopped at the center of a huge expansion. Some of the time and invention references seem oddly out of place for European images in the Middle Ages -- contemporary park benches, gaslights, and cobras?

    It's an interesting concept but it doesn't quite work for me as I imagine the surroundings sometimes to be very different in my minds' eye. Some cards work for me, some don't. I guess it shows how powerful Pixie's original art really is and I guess the RWS already feels complete to me not needing anything else.

    Simon, thank you so much for taking the time to show every card with all the new details included. I appreciate it so much. These decks are beautiful. Such a trip as you said.
    I think I like the panorama version better, though it would be nice having both.
    I do like the decks, however some of the details and interpretations of the designer put me off, in that some of the objects or things added seem from a different time... I believe Pixie's deck has a medieval theme so the light post in the Page of cups for example, has nothing to do there. Anyway, I do like them and enjoyed your video so much. I hope I'll be able to get those one day, who knows.
    Thank you very much. Greetings from 🇦🇷
