Wow, I remember going on a 3 day school holiday to Llangorse & remember doing stuff like hill climbing, pony trekking, archery & staying in massive tents with about a dozen other kids (so you can imagine the riots of the evening). How time flies.

Another great video , great camera work and editing - This part of Wales is very photogenic with rolling hills unlike North Wales more rugged landscape. I did years of military training near Crickhowell, at a military camp called Cwrt y Gothlen - it no longer exists and the land is being developed into a housing estate. and of course the large military training areas of the Brecon Beacons I love this area of Wales. I didn't want this video to end - and so pleased it's to be continues. Take care safe journeys.
p.s I thought you might have mentioned the RV Geeks guy's when you were driving along those narrow country roads they were amazed that these lanes/roads are two way :)

We are catching up on the van blogs, still a few years behind. But we were glad to see you discovered the "Toast and Bacon" alarm. Also works for pancakes!
We made a great set of tote bags to take to the shower; they carry our towel, facecloth, clean shirt and underwear on the inside with soap, toothpaste/brush, coins and flip-flop sandals (you don't want to be standing in someone else's fungus-foot water) on the outside. Can send a photo by email.

Hi David it's Brian Webster from York your tour of the Brecon Beacons brings back loving memories when mum and dad and I use to go to my aunties in Penarth first went there in 19 60 first we went by train from York directly to Cardiff wich was pulled by the engine Sir Nigel Griesly. My cousin William took us into the Brecon Beacons and I'm sure that we stopped at the shop that your gran had

OMG!! You had me ROTFLMAO w/your discovery of sheep & waterfalls, weed whacking your way through thick jungle & peeing in the woods. Then when you said "Ok, that's that, let's go home" I almost peed myself. Your a funny guy David!! lol.....
I do hope you have shower shoes? If not you must get them before you take another public shower! You can catch things from public showers. Athletes feet is the most common. Really that's about the only one I know, but I'm sure there's more things that I don't know of. We must Google that one forsure!! Then youll know everything you need to know about public showers that you really didn't want to know... lolololol....
Looking forward to part 2. It was a great ride so far,

:-) :-) omg...I had so many laugh out loud moments - you are SO funny! Plus you look so happy; I think you are really enjoying your new van. Beautifully edited and just so much fun to watch. I love Wales - I've travelled from Canada many times, as my Welsh Grandad Parry grew up near here and in helping my brother with some geneology, got to love this area so much. First time we crested a hill and saw the Brecon Beacons I was lost for words, it was so beautiful!
The mazdas - made me think of Minimalist's kayaks lol. And the tea episode (oh ye of little faith haha!) reminded me of your How not to Change the Alternator which just cracked me up! (sorry!) Love both your channels, David, thanks ever so much for sharing these with us all xx

I've never seen a campsite like that, it's like a little resort. I know that the British must have a lot more manners and respect for others than here in the U.S., here people would be grubbing through the fridges or just taking the works, and the shower area would, well it wouldn't be good.

It is probable that the driving I did: To and from work, For work, For pleasure, very much turned me off to driving as a pleasurable time. I am retired living in USA. At this time in my life I feel best walking or using public transit. I can not be bothered with other drivers, road congestion and the ongoing maintenance of internal combustion engines. Blame the internet if I can not get it by a walk or bus then either I order it in, do without, or now I look to see if I can make it myself.

Try a plastic shower cap over the smoke alarm when cooking food that gets smokey, it really does work, the elastic rim holds close to the back edge of the alarm, thus keeping out the smoke. BUT DO remember to take the cap off smoke alarm when the smoke has gone.

If you ever want to come back to the Brecon Beacons I can recommend Fforest Fields campsite near Builth Wells. Piping hot showers, excellent facilities (including a drying room) and, in the summer months, a small cafe which does a home made pizzas every Friday. I have no affiliation but it is one of our regular camping destinations. I am sort of local as I live within 5 miles of the Penderyn distillery at the southern end of the Beacons. Loving the vlogs from Vandemonium and Cruising the Cut by the way.

I am however still trying to get used to seeing you driving on the wrong side of the road there. I know it's the wrong side because we drive on the right side. Or, well, not on the left side.
Speaking of which, i was trying to figure out all those strange-pointing arrows on the roads that are pointing the wrong way on the wrong lanes, and i've concluded they're there for the benefit of confused yanks like myself, to remind us that right is not always right?

My parents would take me on holiday to a big static-caravan site in Selsey Bill every year. There was usually 1 or 2 Kellogg's Cereals variety packs in the caravan when we arrived.
Oh goodness, unexpected alarms! I hate it when my computer or phone does something unexpected, at least when I'm tired, and it's not usually so noisy. (Phone calls are... tolerated, especially as I only get about 1 a week.)
    "Sheep-infested jungle" XD Love it!
Oh! That last waterfall was wonderful! :) All the rest were pretty good too, as was the scenery on the roads.

Thanks for this video. I found your channel(s) because I'm a camper van guy, but my wife actually writes novels set in Wales (which we visit from the US annually). Love the BBs, and watching this video makes me wish we were back there now. Managed to corral my wife and get her to watch the video as well. She found your antics incredibly amusing. :)

Nicely done David, a proper travel video. History, scenery, and a bit of intrigue... who was the mystery person behind the map?
Also, it was well scored. Looking forward to part two.

I had a wonderful family holiday about 25 years ago on a narrowboat on the Brecon Canal and remember Crickhowell that you passed through, and it was your link to your other channel 'Cruising The Cut' that rekindled my interest in narrowboats and canals. I am currently converting a van to a campervan.
