I can tell that you are a good story teller-because you got 2,000 people to watch a story about walking some dogs in Wales: drove, parked, got stuck, took a shower, walked, then took a nap. Then there were sheep.
Living in Iowa in the USA, I am 24-72 hours away from an ocean depending if I go east, west, or south. I could not have dragged myself away from that beach for anything. And yes…Wales is an extraordinarily beautiful place…been there once a year ago and hope to return! ❤
Blooming marvellous, next time you go please take me and a small boat ,can't think of anything nicer than napping ,cheese sandwiches and messing about in the water (without getting wet !)
We've been fans of your narrowboat vlogs, however we've just found your campervan adventures. We've binge watched 😂 all weekend I'm sure there's a lot more to come but we've thoroughly enjoyed your escapades. Keep up the great work Angie and Paul xx
Absolutely gorgeous countryside. I'm from the Midwest USA and my company had an office in Preston UK for years. I was fortunate to spend 2 weeks in Preston helping to set up a Help Desk and the scenery shown in this video reminded me of the beautiful countryside around Preston. Your videos are very relaxing,. Thanks for taking us all along.
Lovely part of gods country. That shower block is reminiscent of 3 cliffs bay site which remains the most luxurious facility I’ve found in 40+ years camping.
Speaking as a gentle pensioner Harley Davidson life member. I love both your channels. You definitely have the creator vibe. Very enjoyable entertainment thank you
There is something about a beach. A few years ago my family stayed at Helmsley for my 70th birthday. I come from that area so I took the family to a few of my favourite places. My better half, myself, daughter, son and future wife along with my sons pooch went to Hutton le Hole. It was magical watching them by the little river, I just watched them enjoying the things I had enjoyed BC. A day in Whitby then a real highlight, taking the dog on to the beach at Sandsend. Simple pleasures, a real highlight for myself watching them enjoy such simple things.
11:27 Have you ever thought about putting out a risque calendar in your online store? Just imagine... each month David Johns in some kind of seasonally appropriate pants pointing to or holding an object for some reason. Give the people what they want: More DAVID!! Pretty sure that would fly off the shelves at any price there big man.
Thank you, David. That journey along the Dyffi into Aberdovey was our family holiday back in the 60's. 4 of us in a Morris Minor all the way from Wolves, and your excitement ( and the dog's) mirrored our joy at finally seeing the sea. We stayed in a boarding house opposite that car park and ran along that beach and into the dunes. It took me right back, unfortunately I had to pause the video as I had something in my eyes. 😅
What a cracking spot to pitch a tent, or park a van! There will always be tiny detail points that could be improved but on the whole it looked a great little site with very good facilities. We're in Wales all week, Anglesey, so enjoying the beach walks too!

What a lovely spot of Wales. No need for seaside, just stay in that lovely valley. Nice mural! I live on the coast but I have only seen one underpass with marine artwork on it, I must advocate for more.
Beautiful! We're working on a Northumbrian campsite this year, so from 'experts', that looks like a really good site to be on. (Apart from the press to play showers which we hate for the same reasons as most people.) As soon as we are free agents we shall most surely tow our caravan Monica to Cymru, and try this site.
Thank you David for these videos! As a Swiss citydweller this may as well be on another planet for me - and I love these little tidbits of other Earth. 🙂 Cheerio, hope the cheese was just right, perfect to your taste!
If you'd have carried on from where you parked in Aberdovey a few hundred yards there's a very large green area on your right where there's usually plenty of space(for free I believe) where many campervans park. You might find it helpful if you visit the area again.
David: Splendid travelogue. The green of the hills was positively technicolor. The landscapes were fantastic. I did have an 'I am American' moment. Near the campsite, you showed a large gravelbed, at the edge of the water. My first reaction was 'Wow, I would love to search for arrowheads and spearpoints in that!" Then I remembered I was looking at a gravelbed in Wales. Oh well. Thanks again.
I've only ever been to Cardiff. After seeing your various videos of Wales in all its glory, though, I am dying to get back and take a proper look around.
There's a tried and trusted way for getting sheep to keep out of your way. We used it with great success years back when I hill walked and cycled. You shout MINT SAUCE at them, gets them rightly flustered. 😄
I have enjoyed "Cruising the Cut" videos for quite a while and this is my first visit to your van channel. While I have very little interest in van/camper conversion videos, I do enjoy travel videos. Wales is indeed beautiful and I hope to vicariously visit more of the UK and perhaps the continent with you in the future. Good job as always. Cheers!
When my low vision son was a little boy, he insisted on sleeping with his glasses. He didn’t want to be without them, and was an amazingly peaceable sleeper, has only ever, night or day, broken one arm of one frame in 30 years.
My first thought was this can't be Wales, it didn't start raining when you crossed the border, but then I saw that the requisite Welsh rainfall was just a little delayed. Lovely to see some video of the area around the Dyfi ospreys, thanks much for that.
Thank you David for the video and taking us along, I enjoyed it! Nice campsite and the scenery - first class! Four dogs walked simultaneously, that must be interesting when passing tantalizing aromas. Fortunately they are the ankle biter size and not the size resembling a half-size horse. Is there a law in the UK concerning pedestrians walking by sheep? Here in the US (Florida) I know of no such decree but, sheep are not that common here. I hope your traditional cheese sandwich "hit the spot", barbecue would do it for me. Cheerio!
I shall be off to Wales in a few weeks for a camping (in a tent) and hiking holiday with my dog. Brecon for 4 days, then turning left at the traffic lights and hitting Aberystwyth and heading south and walking the coastal path. Maybe see you out there. That part of Wales is beautiful and so friendly.
I hate when the shower doesn't get to my "bits" too! 🤣 But maybe worth it for the views you had while you were there. It looks absolutely beautiful, and so peaceful by the river. :0)
When my Uncle went camping, he went for a shower and the shower was one of the ones where you have to press the button every so often, but the one my Uncle used was faulty and didn't turn off, so he thought "oh that's ok", so he washed everything and it was ok until he tried to exit the cubicle, he had to get dressed in the cubicle as it was a communal area outside, but then he couldn't open the door without stepping back into the shower tray, and he couldn't turn the shower off! He got wet!!
Looks like it was Aug 10-11th. We were a tad further NE from you hoping the rain would clear up for our daughter's (hopefully outdoor) wedding in Denbighshire. It did, just in time. Haven't been to your campsite's area for decades. Must return. Thanks for sharing the wonderful scenery. Laura
I know you've driven a lot, but I just finished driving from the Hill Country in Texas to visit my brothers in Colorado and Idaho. I was gone for a little over 2 months and a lot of that time I spent sitting in my ProMaster 2500 driving from one city to the next to the next. I don't think my tush is shaped the same anymore...
Funny, I heard "croasted trumpets"... and then I wondered for ten seconds or so about what croasting was and what a trumpet would taste like... and then the light went on. Looks like it was a fun trip! Many thanks.

The best accessories to carry for those annoying push button showers is a cable tie, fasten it over/around the button for constant water.
