This is Dries van Noten’s last collection and it is glorious last statement of the beauty of his work-the textiles, the prints, the tailoring, the draping-it’s overwhelming. And the gender-fluidity here is wonderfully integrated into the collection and the show-giving us menswear with womenswear with gender-ambiguous clothes…it’s not just some men-in frocks gimmick. It’s a serious way of thinking beyond the dated menswear/womenswear binary. So much to admire and love. A last masterpiece and an airy, elusive monument.
