  • When it comes to Dries, there's no need for an introduction. As part of the Antwerp Six, he's one of the most inspirational Belgian Designers of our time. He succeeds in staying a successful and independent house with HQ in Antwerp. His collections burst of worldly cultural influences, eye for detail, painterly use of colour, rich fabrics and shapes and a reoccurring symbiosis with art. His catwalk shows are time and time again refreshing and the talk of the town during Paris Fashion Week.

I love the outfit of the host. The colours are very complimentary to her hair and facial features. I love a nice jumpsuit.

How did you do it? Maybe your family's fabric industry involvement helped? Your dad's clothing shop? Your granddad's tailor shop? Maybe they got that first menswear line going?

Even with the background in clothing, it's still very difficult as the world of high fashion comes with a completely different set of norms and expectations compared a local clothing and tailor shop.

Half a year ago I scored a lovely split skirt in a lovely vintageshop.I had to retail the item, make it smaller and in the meantime make pockets in it. Pockets are so important to me. And zips on the back, I hate it, zips at the back, its so unfeministic, I mean why should I feel so lonely trying to zip the thing up myself, wrestling with it unti; I got cramps, and somewhere I hear this hoarse sexy voive asking this hunky guy 'will you zip me up dsrling? Ggggrrrr., it's crazy. I prefer zips at the side or in front, zap zip me up..
But that's not what I wanted to say: I love my lovely subtle coloured skirt and wear it often, and I love the new comfy pockrts in it and the fact that it's ever so durable and sustainable that way.. It's our own responsability too.
