We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
Video?
IMO the Locksmith’s knowledge, voice and attention to detail really helped me as We’re both 78 and can’t no longer jump up to answer the door! This would really help our friend installing it! I’m just a little worried about battery length of use! The comments said to cover out Wi-Fi with a pot! Seems useful! This video will really help us!
Love the new sleek look, and the random code is a great idea to hide fingerprints - perfect for my new front door.
This video was fabulous. The instructions were so well explained, that even I could successfully install the lock!
You're welcome! 😃
The ease of instillation and the fact that it only requires wifi are solid selling points for this lock. Thanks for the review and giveaway!
Excellent demonstration. Completely clear and understandable. Everything seems to be covered. Particularly liked the Wi-Fi feature and the timed-out entry codes. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
I like the random number input required before entering your code
I love the touchscreen and professional look!
This will be my first smart lock I have ever owned. My wife and i have just purchased a new home in Bedford, Tx. I love the feature to program temporary codes, and I am a fan of home delivery, so this feature will be useful. Thank you for the information I believe you helped me into making the right choice. I have family in the Phoenix area, and will defiantly be telling them about your service.
We appreciate the referral🙂
Bought and installed today. Easy instal and it works flawlessly. Great product
Thanks for watching!
I like the idea it can connect up to a Bluetooth and I also like the fact that it has special settings for entry into the house by a contractor, guess, etc
I bought one of these because of the wifi capability and the reassurance of a back up key ability. This video helped me understand how secure screen mode worked. So thumbs up
Thanks!
I like the random code feature so you can see the same fingerprint smudges on the screen. I also like the fact that it connects directly to your WiFi. Thank you for the helpful review.
Great review. I picked this one up for my mom's place so I can let paramedics in remotely. Works awesome. Just a suggestion about the WiFi. If you disable the 5GHz on your router while setting it up, you can then re-enable it after setup and it should work just fine. No additional equipment required.
Great tip! I did not know that.
Only IF you can disable the 5G on your router. Note: Google WiFi router you cannot. The alternative is to cover the router (google) with cooking pot/tin can to block out the 5G and the pot will let the 4G ()
Pass-through...didn't finish.my.sentence.
I bought this at Costco and installed it in 30 minutes. I could not be happier! So easy and it looks amazing.
Great job!
I didn't know Costco sells this; I would have bought it there then at Home Depot.
The secure screen function is important. Providing more notification options will be nice.
I like the WiFi part and you are giving one away !
I like your review of this new lock. Nice that it is a grade 2 lock.
This looks a lot easier for installing than many of the new Hi Tech Locks. Big Plus.
I really like the finger print security feature.
I liked the random numbers generated prior to enter code to avoid fingerprint marks.
Great lock and great instructions
Love this feature and this lock is amazing
I have been keyless for years now, this definitely looks to be a great product!!! Hope I win the give-a-way!!!
The locks styling is awesome.
Keyless entry is definitely a winner - its time has come. I particularly like the extra efforts taken by Kwikset to make this lock more secure. The random code feature is genius!
1:20pm
Love the lock
I like the idea of different codes for different people.
You don't have to hold the outside piece while connecting the wire to the inside piece.
There is a bracket on the inside that is fastened to the outside piece to secure it in place before connecting the wire and mounting the inside half.
(I own the Weiser version)
Really like the individual code setups for when contractors or house cleaning people come to my home
I love the style! This would be great on my new home.
Glad you like it!
Very well explained , love the lock
needed to know how to factory reset, thanks, worked great
Thank you, This video was very useful.
Thanks for the video. It helped me make my lock decision.
You're welcome.
I like the fact that WiFi is integrated within the lock.
Great Video as always Robert! Probably the best thing is the WIFI features of the lock being able to control it from anywhere is leagues above the old Bluetooth ones.
Very true!
Congratulations Jim! You won the lock used in this product demonstration! Message us on our Facebook page to claim your prize! facebook.com/AcmeLocksmith/
@@LocksmithRecommended just saw this thanks!
This is a nice system. I'm going to use it for my Apartments
Glad you like it!
I like the shape and finish of this lock.
I like the ability to give a one time code and it won't work again after it's used
Love the wifi function
It's a great lock, love the review on it.
Thanks 👍
I like the honest “that’s a fail“ after the code sent 3 times. Not a deal breaker but certainly a legit frustration!
I like the touchscreen feature of the lock. I purchased one yesterday and I really want another one for my back door
It's a good lock! Thanks for watching.
Like the random number generator and clear review
great video. thanks
Love this lock. The look, the technology and simplicity. Has KwikSet made changes to the app yet?
I like that it connects to wifi
Great job!
Thank goodness you can replace the batteries without unscrewing the trim piece (like you have to with the Kevo).
This lock is excellent and I'll replace my digit kwikset 916 for this model, it is very help it for the airbnb apartments
Have you seen the Yale 226? We do a comparison between the Schlage the Kwickset and the Yale. I only mention it because the Yale is integrated into the Airbnb system.
Great video Robert! If the wifi signal to the lock is lost (eg. power outage) are the entry codes stored in the lockset? Will the one time codes and schedules work while the wifi is disconnected? I want to use this lockset in a remote rental property and during our off season we do not have internet so will the schedules still work for cleaning staff? Also do you know if the history would be updated on the app once the wifi is restored? Thanks
Great questions, but a bit beyond my experience level with the lock. Once we install them, the home owner takes over. I believe the answer to all your questions is yes, accept for the access log update. I don't think he can queue those up. But I'm not 100% sure. Try Kwikset customer support: 800-327-5625
I wish this was recent bcs, i really love that lock bcs its automatic & pretty!!!
I like the wifi feature and style
Nice features
i am a professional locksmiths and this lock is a rock and roll deal
It's a good lock.
it seems like a solid product
I don't own this yet, BUT I own another smart lock and want to make a recommendation for improved battery life. Battery life is an issue that some have commented on for this lock, and smart locks in general.
In addition to doing the bolt alignment 14:05, as demonstrated and making sure the depth of your door jamb hole is at least 1" in depth,
*USE the auto lock feature in the app. Mine (Wyze lock - which I'm looking to replace) uses battery much faster IF you do NOT have the auto lock activated and I'm guessing this one might do the same - the lock is constantly having to check the lock position if not locked and runs the battery down much faster. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I know of some customers that had units that went through batteries quickly, but most don't. I suspected defective. The app does give you a percent battery indication. Now the Yale that I have on my front door, and our recommended smart lock, has been on my door for over 5 years. I replaced the batteries once. It wasn't even telling me to, I just figured I ought to. :'). Check out our video review of the three most popular smart locks. ruclips.net/video/P7j6PnZZnR8/видео.html
I just installed this last October and I have been changing the batteries every month and I am not even using it wirelessly. I called CS and I was told to buy a wifi extender / repeater to extend the battery life. This is a dumb move by Kwikset.
Not like the some others but still a great system.
I am old school but willing to enter into the future with this modern lock. God help me.
Unfortunately this is not 'modern technology.' This won't enter you anywhere.
Hi, great video, congratulations!, I have a question, is necessary install kwikset app because I'm from Ecuador and I can't found that app, I guess for my location.
If you want to be able to control the lock from your phone yes, you need the app.
Thank you. Very informative. Can you tell me if we both download app do we ( Hubby & I) have different accounts? Or use same account
You'd have your own login on your app.
Can the APP be used by different users on different devices with different users?
So far, the problem I had with it is when I change passwords, you have to delete "old" lock and add "new" lock; basically a new installation. Too much work for just a password change. Wzye has a remote deadbolt lock for $80 vs Kwikset's $250. Big price difference. Kwickset also has a key in case battery/wifi isn't working and that is a plus.
Can't say I've seen that one happen before.
So if I want a second phone to have access what do I do?
What I don’t hear said is will these locks work on mobile home doors. Those doors require different locks from regular house door.
lol. DEA Support van. My friend's wifi is named Searching... thank you for this video. much appreciated.
I like that one!
@Locksmith Recommended also purchased this and installed today. I can confirm that the account setup process is a bit much but works.
Love the wifi name. Mine was "FBI surveillance van 2"
Awesome. 🙂
I like the touchscreen
Hey Robert, I came across your YT channel today and I've enjoyed many of your videos. I like this lock because it's grade two and wifi. Very nice. I clicked the link to see the price and it took me to the Yale lock. How much is it? Thanks
Thanks. Don't know what I was thinking with the Yale link. 🤦♂️ Here is the correct link. www.acmelocksmith.com/buy-safes-online/kwikset-halo-smart-lock-touchscreen-deadbolt.html
Thanks for the detailed video. I have those lock Andy issue is that the batteries run out very fast (in a few days)
I don't use the wifi feature is there a way to turm.wifi off on the lock to save battery life ? I don't see any options in.the app.
Thanks
Call their customer support. Battery should last a lot longer than a few days!
How do you setup google assistance pin?
Thanks!
Thank you!
Can the app be installed in 2 or more different cellphones?
Like finger print random code feature
Thanks found one at liquidation for 1$ and reset worked lights flashing yeah
Question about wifi features: Contemplating buying this for a short term rental. Which features are available through wifi only, without bluetooth? Can you lock or unlock the door if you're not home? Can you view the history or can you only add new users without blue tooth as shown in the video?
I think I cover all that in the video. Yes. Those things can be done via wifi.
Hi, i have question for you.
I have been watching your video about weiser hallo smart lock. I want add one more cellphone to lock and unlock the smart lock at distance. I connect my cellphone no problem but i want add my wife cellphone too. And i can't.
Can you help me.
Can you use this by waving your phone next to it,
How do you remove the black cover off?
I would like to buy this or helo touch but I have a problem. I am in Sri lanka. I heard kwikset app only work in Usa and canada.I already have download kwikset app in to my iphone. If I buy one of these lock can I Use in Sri Lanka?
great ❤
Will it work with out a knob ?
How do enable notifications??
I liked that it was a easy lock that was difficult to install.
Thanks for watching!
I’m doing an Airbnb. Should I go with the keypad or touchscreen version? How is the battery life?
You should go with the Yale. It integrates with Airbnb.
Does the kit come with an adapter for a drive in latch? I cant chisel my door as it looks like it has plastic trim around the door.
It does not.
I use this lock at a vacation rental property. Battery life is terrible and only lasts about 6-7 weeks before batteries need to be changed. If you aren't going to be near the lock regularly, you will need to find someone local to change the batteries. Otherwise, it functions great.
That sounds like the lock is not performing correctly to me. If it's still under warranty (1-year), you should call their customer support and see about getting a replacement.
I have this on my Airbnb & Im having to replace batteries quickly too.
Is there a way to set a passcode for a set date and times (start and end) but for the auto lock feature to be off during that time and comeback on at the end automatically?
Not that I am aware of. The auto lock feature can be turned on and off via the app tho, so it's pretty easy to activate and deactivate.
i just got mine, but it makes a snap noise at the ned of the lock or unlock process, do you know why that happens? i hear yours doing the same also.
If it's doing it when the door is closed. You might have a problem with the depth of your strike hole. If it does it when the door is open it's probably just the internal mechanical linkage of the lock.
In the video you mentioned being able to disable the phone notifications; "get all or none". How do I turn them off? I don't need to be notified every time my door unlocks!
You'll have to manage the notifications on your phone's settings by disabling notifications for the Kwikeset app.
I am looking at Halo or eufy Security Smart Lock Touch & Wi-Fi, Fingerprint Scanner, Keyless Entry Door Lock. Which one?
I haven't tried the Eufy. Here's our review of the Kwikset Halo touch.ruclips.net/video/Esrf9vSX7zQ/видео.html
Wifi keyless entry is the real selling point
Will this lock pair with Alexa? Overall nice features.
Thanks..

I have Cox internet and the dual band router as well and have issues with my lock syncing/working remotely as it's always dropping off the wifi. Purpose of getting the lock is so I could also control it remotely when not in bluetooth range, for example when I'm at the office, but need to let some1 in the home w/o having to create a new code. If lock isn't on wifi, this won't work. How can I resolve the issue with the dual band Cox router? Has any1 else experienced this?
I use a Wi-Fi extender which is able to grab onto the Cox modem and transmit in a dedicated 2.4 gigahertz. The link for that is in the description of the video. I've been very successful using this method with several smart locks and camera systems.
Do you know if there an (emergency) mode to unlock? I was out of town when the batteries died and I don't have the key with me?
Nope. Sorry. The override is the key.
can you rekey this previous schlage ? or can use the same schlage key
Cannot us a Schlage key.
Does this have the option to use a physical key if need be? I do see a slot there.
Yes. It has an override key.
We have one in a place we are renting. When we shut the door can we immediately deadbolt it without it having to use batteries?
Yes. There is a thumb turn on the inside.
Are you able to update this lock using a laptop/desktop as well as the phone app?
I don't believe so, but I've never tried.
Can I do initial set up without home wifi? And still make a code to lock and unlock? And actually use the code to lock unlock?
Most of the smart locks require wifi to setup. You could just go with a standard electronic lock.
