I think I may have gone too far with modulator adjustment car shifts fine part throttle but at wot in d it won't catch second until I lift off the throttle
hi, low speed you will have vacuum kickdown, higher speed will be the detent solenoid kickdown. check switch under dash on accelerator. sometimes floor mat can stop it from reaching, with accessory key on,you should hear a click when that accelerator switch nearly reaches floor. cheers
Good video but the little edit, vacuum modulators don’t determine shift point. The modulator determines softness or hardness of the shift. The governor in the tail housing determines shift point.
Great video about trouble shooting that vac modulator. That port in the carb base should not be a timed port, but manifold vac, unless it has been modified from the factory. .The timed port is usually higher up on the same side coming off the metering block. Seems to me the port is plugged somehow.
what i have been trying to figure out is i have two 89 model trucks chevys and one is half ton other is 3/4. difference is one is 700r4 other is turbo 400 but i compared dipsticks they are the same??? seems odd to me.
hi, generally the operating temp fluid level is approx 5mm above the pan rail. you will need to remove the pan to confirm. if over full, then the fluid may hit the spinning components and aerate the oil, especially going around corners. cheers
Well Done, can't wait for the teardown and analysis.
hopefully time will permit. thanks & cheers
I have a 61 bugeye sprite with a sbc 383ci and a th350.
I learned a lot today
good to hear, cheers

*Near the tail housing*
thanks and cheers
That would be the timed port on the carb id suspect
thanks for that
