hey bob I have a question / concern I uh, deleted my base but forgot my base computer now I have to search the entire planet for where I built as I cannot build a base now any way I can find it faster or just instantly get it back?

I'm guessing what they mean by having a minimum difficulty in expeditions just means that some, most, or all the lowest settings are just greyed out similar to how they are while in permadeath. I doubt they mean the difficulty itself will be higher in expeditions, just that you won't be able to cheese things using the difficulty settings.
This is how I interpreted that note as well. I assume because of the one expedition that was survival difficulty.

I think that includes some back packs as far as expeditions... I'm happy. Just wish it was all of them, tbh I don't understand why it isn't all of them.
I think it's a time thing. one at a time for 2 weeks and you got 4 months of expeditions.
@@SurvivalBobGaming fairs, they probably would want to break it up for new expeditions too. I'm really hoping a new expedition starts us on a derelict freighter, we have to scavenge a bunch of supplies to fix our ship... But I'd want a super big one, no small derelict's.
Happy to see expeditions coming back in some way, although I still think they should make all expeditions replayable on demand. Now I have plans for my PTO over the holidays!
I'm actually looking forward to this because I missed almost every expedition and really want to get a chance to do them!
The expedition reruns might only be 2 weeks each, but if the "reduced requirements" makes them doable in 8hrs or less, that's a solid improvement imo. This also opens up the potential for them to squeeze a quick rerun or two between patches. If this is their intent, the older expeditions might get redone eventually too to fit this format.
Jason Play's speedruns are wild. He had a lot of the standard expeditions done in a couple hours. So less than 8 for an average player on reduced requirements should be pretty doable.
I think this is cool. We gotta look out for the new players out there. I think long time players tend to get upset quite quickly over certain things when they could just take a break and play a different game until an update comes out which is quite often compared to most games. Just my personal opinions, no disrespect intended. Much love Bob and fellow NMS players!

Some people didn’t have access to it when you or I did.. if HG doesn’t make it enticing for new players to join, they won’t pump out new updates for free as often as they do. You “veterans” sure know how to go me me me me me me me when you don’t get something new.. Look at all the FREE updates we have gotten. Take a break. Come back when a new one gets announced. Simple as that.
Sounded like the expeditions will have a defined set of settings, but not necessarily the same settings as PermaDeath. Just like PermaDeath has a defined set of settings. This would prevent lowering the settings, but still getting expedition rewards.
What do you think about no more free ship claiming after a trade?
Despite 2000 hours played I'd never even discovered that was possible, so it's no skin off my nose. I don't particularly mind people being able to do it though... but, pedantically, if it's an exchange you shouldn't really be able to just take it back. It's weird when ancient bugs or loopholes are fixed years down the line when everyone is used to them, but eh, it's their game, they get to fix what they like. Like the market crashing and stuff -- I guess that's been fixed? I heard it was, so I haven't even tried to use it since. It's not like there aren't plenty of other gameplay options for so many of these ways of doing things.
I agree with the decision to disallow trade backs.
That's a predicament on my harsh settings saves. Then again, there's storage augments as rewards in station missions. Now I need to find the cheapest ship that gives 3 augments if scrapped.
Sucks a little tbh as that’s how I made my first billion as a new player. I agree with a comment above that said it was weird that they’ve fixed a long standing bug after all this time. It’s still probably worth it to scrap ships for the nanites & modules. Wonder if there’s any monetary reason to scrap anymore tho.
Also, as a new player, there seems to be fewer and fewer ways for me to make money compared to all the ways veterans have had. Activated indium farming has been nerfed. Shoot, even cobalt farming has been nerfed just in the few months I’ve been playing. I would love and appreciate an updated video on money making, as most of the stuff I see online isn’t viable anymore.
It’s not that expeditions will be harder, they’re saying you will have to play with preselected difficulty setting so you can’t just breeze through the expedition on the easiest mode. This is just the way to keep them on par with the past.

Kinda sad they are only doing this years expeditions, my ps4 broke and lost my save on there along with the rewards, was really hoping I'd have a chance to get em again
They rewards are tied to your username and should be available on any new save you start.

Glad I did all of these then, since I'm getting ready to move and will probably be out of pocket with regard to gaming for the next several weeks. Too bad about the quicksilver rewards, but that's not that big a deal. Depending on the timing, might be able to redo whatever the last one is. Some cool fixes in there, thanks for going through it!

They need an option to turn quick save off. I’ve had so many crashes because it tries to quick save while landing or using the jet pack boost or even while mining..

Thanks for this update video. I know you're just reading patch notes but you do it so I don't have to. I remember completing the Leviathan and Polestar expeditions but I don't remember doing Exobiology and Blighted so I'm glad I'll have the chance to do these.
Hey Bob new expo dropped for nms and I nearly missed it because you have been away! Hope you are doing well.
Autonomous mining units still not fixed. uses your fuel, no resources unless you sit and watch the miner (which is the opposite of Autonomous).

Dang I used the ship glitch a lot...
After completing the trade at a trading post the AI will take off immediately in the traded ship but will return within 15 to 30 seconds.
I like all of these! I just wish Expeditions were here permanently & that we could play them in the order of their release! I have heard that there is more story in them & I love more story for NMS! I love my NMS Family & ya too Bob! You always keep it real! ;)

The only thing I think is bad from all these changes......is that they took away the ability to break the bank, and I wish I knew why ? I really enjoyed it. and now like all Dev's they Have to screw with things that aren't broken and make you play their way. The thing I liked most about NMS , is that you could play the way YOU want to. SO happy about Expeditions returning. Still wish I could break the bank tho. lol. Have a Great day!
Awesome I was hoping there would be repeat expeditions. I didn’t do it on Xbox and now that I have a Steam Deck it’s really nice playing my Xbox save on the go. The problem is my main saves are on PS5 so I’ve been neglecting expeditions on my Xbox save.
I wonder if they want you to be able to re-purchase your ship, but not get it back for free.
Excited to do the expeditions on my Switch though! Polestar was my favorite, so I'm curious to see how the shorter version is.
I've never played in permadeath mode so I'm concerned if the new expeditions are def going to be permadeath. I hope not.

If it is going to be like permadeath my advice is to disable multiplayer. The last expedition I got tired of dying until I disabled multiplayer. I did the expedition 7 times and didn't die anymore due to glitches. Also, if you haven't noticed the game tends to default to PVP enabled and allowing others to manipulate your base. You might want to double check all the settings.
I think the permadeath/expedition thing means that not all levels of the custom difficulty settings will be available. Hopefully this just means that there will be a minimum and default of "normal" levels and we'll be able to raise things higher (but not lower to relaxed/creative levels). Redux Leviathan is a question, though... will that be minimum "survival" or are they going to just let people do it at the easy normal difficulty.
I was really looking forward to an expedition rerolling but I really wanted was the 1-4.
new player on switch here. I notice what may be a glitch or oversight:
I notice I had access to the contents of my storage whenever I just teleported/warped to a new area. I realized this because before crossing to a new galaxy, I always store my exosuit inventory to a storage container so that I'd have room to move my exosuit upgrades down to exosuit inventory... basically, I don't have the minerals to craft anything because they're in a container.
But if I had JUST teleported/warped (I think to a new galaxy), and installed every exosuit upgrade back, the hazard protections would be at 0% right, and I found out I could top them up even with an empty inventory, I also could fix my ship rightaway even with 0 inventory. And once I had access to a storage container, I could see I had less of those minerals I used on those fixes and top-ups.

As someone who plays exclusively on Switch nowadays, I'm thrilled about this. It will be great to get some of the cool gear I missed out on while taking a break from NMS on other platforms. Still hoping they'll add daily missions into the Switch version, though. Grinding for quicksilver via stellar ice is a huge PITA. Still, love having this game on Switch, and super grateful for the hard work Hello Games has put into this port.
Expeditions are really cool, but I’ve never been able to play them because of arthritis in my hands. It’s great for new players to be able to get expedition rewards though. Part of me would love to do expeditions but the only way I could do that is if custom difficulty settings were allowed which I highly doubt would ever happen
It sucks to be effectively locked out of expeditions as a game mode but hopefully the rewards are offered later as drops or something. I’m just thankful to be able to play NMS with custom difficulty settings
That sucks. I wasn't able to do Expeditions 3, 4, and 7 due to real life things happening.... So looks like I will never be able to get those done now. Just 7.

Bob, I pre-ordered nms for ps4 years ago. I've played it for years and have recently upgraded to a PC. I've been a little bummed and unmotivated to play because all of my expedition awards do not transfer over :(. Idk if you have homies at hello games but awareness for this and perhaps a solution would be dope. I miss my worm.
I'm hoping they offer a way to do this. It seems like as long as they can make the process relatively secure that merging two accounts shouldn't be terribly hard. Although the way the servers interact with players is a little weird so who knows
@@biomegnome8764 I don't think it would be hard to do. I have upgraded other games from ps4 to PC with PSN linked steam accounts and everything was cool. Only had a problem with a few games, NMS being one.
I'm glad they fixed the reclaiming a ship for free, that was a straight up exploit. Minimum difficulty on redux Expeditions is fine if they keep it to blocking the very easy settings, an Expedition should be a challenge, but not permadeath difficulty.

It's the first time Switch players can get QS from anything but stellar ice and Nada missions. The minimum difficulty thing, I think, is just that you won't be able to lower the difficulty to like relaxed during expeditions, the same way certain things are not able to be lowered in perma saves, NOT that all expeditions will be perma lol. But you might be able to make things harder in settings :D so expeditions on harsh mode anyone?
I would assume the Expedition Redux will come with the Mac/iPad launch.

I’m sort of happy but still feel cheated. I lost many of my rewards from past expansions after some point in the 4.0 update. Yes, I have a way to regain them but I wasn’t truly planning on having to regain them to begin with.
This is exciting, I just started playing beginning of this month, and it sounds like expeditions are temporary leagues. I usually play a game called Path of Exile, and they do temporary leagues so i'm hoping this is similar.
Maybe not the best place, is it possible to make the font larger for NMS on switch? Thanks for keeping us updated.
I really hope they do ALL the expeditions as the game saves don't transfer over to PS5 from the PS4 version and the way HG says to fix it is to manually move them from the PS4 by loading the game and doing it from inside the menu.
My problem is I no longer have the PS4 console set up.😧
I refuse to get 'Playstation Plus' just to be able to do that from the PS5 console.
Or to visit another players freighter in the Expedition which is daft as I can visit other players Base's in single player mode.
Well for me im going to carry on playing anything but NMS till 2023 happy for all players who missed out or players that want to redo this years expeditions im happy to play anything else
Well arse. Guess I won't be able to get my expeditions 1-4 or 1-5 credit back this year. Ah well.
I wish I could do the older expeditions, ie 2021, because I missed a couple of them and lost access to the first couple ones’ rewards after migrating from Xbox One X to Xbox Series X. Beyond that, not terribly interested in anything. Hope the Switch players have a tonne of fun. I think I’m out for a bit until I can play the first 4-6 expeditions.

I hope this will repair the switch version of the game. I deleted the game yesterday from my switch. It became somewhat unplayable for me. To many crashes.
I'll likely skip replaying the expeditions; not a fan of comm ball litter/clutter. I wish there was means of disabling them, in general.
I never figured out the ship thing so I guess I won't miss it.
It was really easy . Just select a ship and instead of buying it trade your ship for it instead. As soon as you complete the trade a NPC will appear at the ship you traded. Go to that NPC and go to make offer on ship. When you go to buy it the price will be free. I did it on permadeath saves I was planning on deleting. I haven't done it on saves I plan on keeping.
Still no news on the freighter base not transferring when you change freighters!!!

I'm on experimental. For some reason the last update I show is from October 7. I don't show the update for today. I've closed and reloaded steam just to see if that helped and I still don't have the update.

Dammit! We should be able to sell a crashed ship over and over again. Nanites are hard to come by! Also, why don't they fix the glitch that prevents people from getting all the past earned rewards if they HAVE completed all the expeditions previously. I wrote to zendesk months ago and still can't get all my rewards! I miss my Normandy!

Started playing NMS in 2016 ps4, wasn't ready so I stopped playing for years. This year i bought NMS for switch, thought it was good with all the updates and how it played. And last month I got a Steam Deck. Got NMS, holy cow what a difference in play and features. The switch version is pretty lame to be honest compared. No settlements, no multiplayer, graphical issues and the animations for mining and terrain manipulation are nerfed or missing entirely. I don't recommend NMS for Switch

Hey Bob. I have a question for you. I recently upgraded an A-Class solar ship to an S-class. I immediately had an exotic spawn in. Followed by an S-Class freighter. After I jump to another system I found a first wave exotic. My previous playthrough was over 125 hours I never came across any S-Class ships. Is there a game mechanic that brings more S-class ships once you get your first?
I haven't come across any more S-Class ships in the last couple of days. I'm wondering if there's a game mechanic that gives you a window of opportunity to stock up on S-Class ships? Or did I just get lucky?

Great,so they got rid of one of the few things that made this game bearable. Now it's just another tedious grind fest. The free claim back with ships was harmless to the game.
Seems like they’re patching up too-easy money leaks one by one. Activated indium, cobalt, now the free ship claim-back. I’ve also heard from veteran players that they make a lot of money from freighter expeditions, but so far I only get about 10-20 million a day from that. Maybe I’ll start earning more with higher star level jobs? Idk but the grind is real and getting worse.
NMS just doesn't seem it's going in the right direction imo. They should be more open with the expeditions. And the nerfs kinda stupid. This just ain't as fun and it wasn't that great before. Not good, I'll definitely not be playing and if this path continues I'll be deleting. Started one expedition and stopped at someone's base and it crashed my game. Not acceptable, haven't been back since and then the nerfs happened. I'm just so surprised they've dome this. Seems switch getting NMS kinda ruined the game imo.

If Expeditions are set to Permadeath I'm out. That first Permadeath Expedition was hell and I hated every minute of it. Not worth it
