They’d have to get permission and pay whoever owns the rights to this song. Brian Wilson and Jan Berry. Since Jan is dead, presumably just Brian Wilson now
I love how they can take a song that wasn't a hardcore rocky-punky song to begin with and totally amp it up! plus making the guitar look so easy when it sounds hella fast.....
One of the best songs of all-time IMO. Love Belinda, great Beach Boys/Jan&Dean fan. She could have used a Brian Wilson signature falsetto in the background. Overall very good cover!
Induct this talented group of Musicians into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!! All female band, #1 Album all female band, paved the way for Punk Bands like "GreenDay" & "Avril Levine".They weren't even listed on Top 40 Punk Bands by Rolling Stone. Travesty!!
Dennis Dick I was a huge fan of the Go Go's back in the day. I saw them in concert 3 times and each one was better than the other. it was worth every penny of my baby sitting money
This is VERY cool.did Brian Wilson write this song..? Cause I know that Jan and Dean sang it. My Mom used to let me listen to her album..but I know a lot of those surf bands mingled too. My stepfather played with Dick Dale, and also The Surfaries..who also shared songs with The Ventures..anyway, it doesn't matter, the song is great. that matters
Brian Wilson did indeed co-write this song. The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean shared a lot of material. Dean appeared on the Beach Boys' version of "Barbara Ann," for example.
First, this is a Jan and Dean song, not Beach Boys. Brian wrote the opening "Two girls for every boy..." gave it to Jan Berry and he finished it. Second. ALL the Beach Boys were amazing musicians. One was a true genius.
Where do you get your info from.Brian and Jan Berry collaborated on this one.Jan produced and arranged it and Brian sang with Jan and others on the record.Brian deserves credit on this song but he didn't write ALL the music and lyrics. He co-wrote it with Jan.
sk8punk: you might not have noticed this, but the Go-Go's are, in fact, girls. This may be why they changed the lyrics around. Though if they'd changed it to "two girls for every girl" that would've been totally hot.
I know this may be a long shot, but....does anyone know who the women in the audience watching the Go-Go's playing this song are? I know I know them but can't think of their names after so long a time (blonde, blonde, and blonde.) The second one is Vicki Peterson of the Bangles, but I'm drawing a blank with the other two, even though I remember them from somewhere! Thanks!
Okay Gogos play some Beach boys but I love their own songs a lot better. OC Femniza are nice of course I love them always. Feminazis are nice because they don't drive their tour buses too fast. The waves are badass out there and I can't surf them. These girls are probably Munsters and could help me. If they wanted to. I'm resigned to the simple fact that I can't surf anywhere near as they can.
Funny how I love Jan & Dean and their music very much, and I also really like the GoGo's and their music, but this whole thing just doesn't work for me at all!
I thought they were death or something like that. Last time i knew about the Band was in 1987. This is arevelation and still keeps their beauty. I must confess this song is a shit.
They so need to get off their asses and quit writing for other people and drop a new album. Maybe songs they had written BEFORE OLAS perhaps? The REAL punk Songs?
Gina (solid -as -a-rock ) Schock is the most under-rated drummer in rock 'n roll
She's an absolute fantastic drummer bless her
I love the way she beats faster and faster as the song progresses, in true punk style.
Gina's got game!
Tear it up, Kathy! So badass!
Jane rocks also! Is she adorable or what! Love the Go-Go's.
Wow... Kathy looked awesome!!!
This was a fantastic tribute concert for Brian Wilson.
I love this version of Surf City. Belinda and the girls do a great job. I wish the Go Go's would do a new album and put this song on it.
The harmonies are awesome. Gogos can rock.
They’d have to get permission and pay whoever owns the rights to this song. Brian Wilson and Jan Berry. Since Jan is dead, presumably just Brian Wilson now
Charlette Caffey. What a guitar player
GoGos tore it up on this one. It really rocks.
One of the best covers !!!!
The Go Go's get better as time rolls on. Fantastic job at Surf City Ladies ! The song never sounded better. I love all of you !
one of the best groups ever
I love how they can take a song that wasn't a hardcore rocky-punky song to begin with and totally amp it up! plus making the guitar look so easy when it sounds hella fast.....
Whatta kick-ass performance by these heavenly Goddesses! LOVE them!
The GOs Gos really kicked ass with this song
I've been listening to the Go-Go's since 1981.... And they still ROCK!
They sound and look better than ever!
Some things DO get better with age!
I love the Go-Go's and Surf City.
Two of my favorites together.
Can't beat that.
Thanks for posting this.
George Vreeland Hill
AWESOME PERFORMANCE !!! Not that I am a huge GoGo's fan, but they are very good and R O C K E D on this song!
Oh!
MY!
GODDESS(es)!
These amazing women rock it outta the ballpark!
Belinda looks SO HOT in this video.
Love Jane's green hair.💚💚💚
Still love this live performance
great show--wish I'd seen it--band looks and sounds great
Really cool 👍thanks.
Great performance !
Brian Wilson co-wrote and sang on Jan & Dean's "Surf City," so it's not unreasonable to include it in this tribute to Brian.
I love The Go-Go's
Happy Birthday, Jane!!!!!!!
brilliant singers but tearin the arse of good music..
Finally I found this song with great sound!!! It goes to my collection Thanx :)
Wow they all sound great and look hot!
Decent? Holy shit they ROCK! Especially Jane. She can really rock the rhythym guitar!
One of the best songs of all-time IMO. Love Belinda, great Beach Boys/Jan&Dean fan. She could have used a Brian Wilson signature falsetto in the background. Overall very good cover!

are you smoking schwag ? i guess the ramones had nothing to do with it or ? lol
The Go Go's were inducted in the RRHOF in 2021.
Totally go go's
Then it was a good song to sing at the event, thanks!
the one and only the gogos
Brian's 1st #1
You can hear the girls punk roots in this.
Belinda will always be Awesome..
Charlotte is a great shredder.
This is way too rad for modern life.
the Go-go's should put out an album of classic rock music.....and of course more new music from the Go-Go's...loved God bless the Go-Go's
Dennis Dick I was a huge fan of the Go Go's back in the day. I saw them in concert 3 times and each one was better than the other. it was worth every penny of my baby sitting money
Dennis Dick a
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i saw them (sans Jane) in feburary of this year at the house of blues Dallas.
Sounds fresh!
最高!ジャン&ディーンで育った湘南ボーイ55歳。
Better than the original version IMO!!
Southern California Style.
I like it! They're really rockin' it here. Maybe turn up that guitar though...

jan & dean sang surfing safari, not surf city....
You've got it backwards. Jan & Dean did Surf City. Surfing Safari is a Beach Boys song.
Jan and dean sang surf city, jan and dean also sand surfin safari on the Jan and dean take linda surfin album,
@@BILLYLAMB76 WRONG!
First, this is a Jan and Dean song, not Beach Boys. Brian wrote the opening "Two girls for every boy..." gave it to Jan Berry and he finished it. Second. ALL the Beach Boys were amazing musicians. One was a true genius.
THE FEMALE VERSION "WOW"✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
That was awesome. Did they release the track or was it just for the show
O YAH🇺🇸🥳🏖
Where do you get your info from.Brian and Jan Berry collaborated on this one.Jan produced and arranged it and Brian sang with Jan and others on the record.Brian deserves credit on this song but he didn't write ALL the music and lyrics. He co-wrote it with Jan.
Brian wrote it
No, it was Jan and Brian, remember Brian threw in the trash and Jan picked it up.
Sweet Jane.
Thought this was a Jan and Dean song, did The Beach Boys do a version?
Yes it's a Jan and Dean song. Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys wrote it.
Great tempo Gina !
Fuck they ROCK!!!!!
sk8punk: you might not have noticed this, but the Go-Go's are, in fact, girls. This may be why they changed the lyrics around. Though if they'd changed it to "two girls for every girl" that would've been totally hot.
KICK ASS RENDITION !!!!!
Interesting cover. Seems that she sang it in a lower key than the original. Nice version, though.😁
It's Jan and Deans song..so why fuss?
I know this may be a long shot, but....does anyone know who the women in the audience watching the Go-Go's playing this song are? bmiltonb a
Jane so pretty.
when doesn't she?
Dude, its done totally in the GoGo's style... of course it isn't original..
Nooooooo 😨😨
Brian wrote the song for Jan & Dean.
No, Brain threw it away, Jan picked it up, then Brian & Jan worked on it.
actually that is Reese Witherspoon.
they actually play instruments where are the girl bands today?
Two babes for Gidget, please!
driving Bass
two boys for every girl? lol two of these gals are a couple!
No its JAN & DEAN, but great job.
sexy stuff ^^
Okay Gogos play some Beach boys but I love their own songs a lot better.
OC Femniza are nice of course I love them always.

two guys for every girl, lol
Funny how I love Jan & Dean and their music very much, and I also really like the GoGo's and their music, but this whole thing just doesn't work for me at all!
@Norman Smithers I didn't really like the way they did it, although I do like the band.
Jane Schmane.
why
I thought they were death or something like that. Last time i knew about the Band was in 1987. This is arevelation and still keeps their beauty. I must confess this song is a shit.
i do agree..where is the voice...shit!!
NO!
Tone deaf...
They so need to get off their asses and quit writing for other people and drop a new album. Maybe songs they had written BEFORE OLAS perhaps? The REAL punk Songs?
Where are the harmonies? Kind of bland.
They're playing it punk style, since they came from the late 70s LA punk scene.
This is A Jan & Dean Song!
Didn't anybody see (Dead-Man's Curve?) And This performance Sucks! It definitely lacks
Something! It's way too bland.
Written by Brian Wilson. After it hit #1 for J&D the record company and Murray flipped their lid since Brian literally gave this one away.
@@robrtbrn6 Co- written by Brian and Jan.
Malisimo
thats kinda bad...
Of all the BB songs to cover for this event, this must be one of the worst choices.
unimpressive.
Horrible!
