Hey there Avo , Wow so glad you took the dive back in to RUclips , Great video there buddy and loved the touch of making it feel homely with your kids having a blast as we did building mud roads in the sand , dude as a dad myself thats awesome . As for the RC ive been on and off speaking with HBX on possibly having one for the channel myself. It does look like a lot of fun the 2996a for sure and i can see some great potential for tuning and making it even more awesome. Well once again buddy back to RUclips , Im looking forward to seeing more videos soon dude . Ps massive shoutout to you as well , Appreciate you mentioning me at the end bud honestly . Hey man @@avolationindustries Not heard from you for a while are you still keeping it real brother . Would love to see more videos from ya my man . Stay awesome buddy Chris :)
Heya Chris!! Thanks for dropping me a line. There has been some major shakeups in my life, and while the dust is slowly starting to settle, it's still going to be some time before things get back to 'normal'. The dream will never die though, and I am still slowly working away on my next video. As you said before, just focus on what you enjoy, so I've tried to stay with that while everything around me is changing. I was really putting pressure to get out regular vids but it just wasn't possible, however in a few months I am hoping to be back in that position again. Until then, I am chipping away where I can, do expect a video soon, but I can't say when exactly. Keep up the great work on your side also its been an inspiration to see what you have achieved already. Big love buddy 🙏✌️
@@avolationindustriesSo basically, there's some Arduino software you can somehow get to "train" on a predifined "line" (say an articlte of clothing like a red shirt or something) & pair it to a camera so that it follows you/subject. A kit like this which is "terrain-fluent" w/ the big wheels is an ideal candidate for a Blade Runner-esque follow thing.
@@thecandyman9308 that sounds like a really awesome project! I hope you put it on youtube or similar. I want to find a way to do auto tracking with a gimbal camera or a drone - these little trucks are hard to film and run at the same time!
Thanks for the review. Super useful! I noticed in the MJX Hyper go 14210 review that you have upgraded the HBX 2996a to 3S. Could you do a video on how you did that please?
Ah yes, on both counts! I thought i fixed that. Duly noted, thank you Postal! Thanks for watching, I hope you and the fam are super!! I have missed you guys!

These come with a 2S right? The ZOP link is for a 3s am i right in saying when you swapped the battery it wasnt just a C rating upgrade you also went from 2s to 3s?
Oh yes you are right! I have linked the wrong batteries. The ones I got were 2s, 7.4v versions. Thanks for pointing that out I will remove the link. Do not run on 3s the esc is not designed for it. I managed to find the correct batteries so I will update the link!! Thanks for letting me know!
Awesome, its a great car! Fair warning though these ZOP batteries do not fit perfectly. They do work, but they are not a perfect fit. I used a bit of foam underneath to get it to sit a bit better but its not ideal. Still they are good value for the money so if you can get it to sit then you will be ok with it. I added an extra velcro strap to keep it in place. The stock batteries do not last that long, sadly.@@carlh2007
@@avolationindustriesI got the rc car it runs great still waiting on the zop battery. I ditched the t-plug and replaced with XT60 in my experience tplugs are pretty poor and have a high resistance you can feel them warm after running the rc car. My car came with 2 of those 1600mah batteries to i made a joiner xt60 plug to run them both in parallel and they fit nicely in the car. Performace is def increased it can now pop a small wheely where as with a single battery it could never get the front wheels up. Ill look at figuring out how to replace the electoronics and run 3s!
Hey thanks for the update!! Thats excellent!! It has crossed my mind before about upgrading those plugs, I think I will definitely make a point now to do that. So many of my trucks run on those deans connectors! Stoked you got some extra beans out of it, less resistance would likely mean better efficiency also, better battery life. Tho if it does wheelies now you are gonna be punching the throttle for sure. haha. Awesome dude, thanks for the follow up! Hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it!@@carlh2007
Hi there! What part are you looking for? Ali express, banggood, ebay and a new one I just found called rcbuying are all good places to check. It can also help to get the part number from the manual. If you get stuck you can try sourcing parts from the 903 cars as well they are a close match. Let me know how you go and if there is a specific part you cant find I will have a look for you! Sometimes these manufacturers prefer resellers than stocking on their own web sites. Good luck.
Great video bro! Unfortunately it convinced me to buy another dam truck. It looks like a cross between 2 of my favorite 1/12th scale trucks. It looks like an axial power pro, which is a bit to slow for me but is a great truck otherwise. Combined with a hbx 903a which has a lot more power. I should be getting it in a week or so. It's all your fault! Lol
Thank you Riftur!! Much appreciated. Well, I tend to look at it as good fortune 😁. While its not a long term or durability review, its a very positive initial impression, and I do think you will not be dissapointed. Its very well priced. Yes with the scale its only barely 10th scale, they do call it a 10xs which perhaps I should update my title to reflect. Its got a much bigger motor than the 903a, but still runs the same battery, and is heavier so I think it will be slower compared to that truck. I hope it will be more durable, its better off road for sure, and I think it comes with better stock tires too. Thank you for the comments, enjoy that truck when you get it! Cheers!!
@@avolationindustries I have a 120A hobbywing esc thats been sitting collecting dust. I will probably swap esc's at some point. always NEED MORE POWER lol.
