This is how things should be done. Make a reasonably priced base model and leave plenty of room for people to take it as far as they want. 👍
That's how I met my wife. I just couldn't find any good upgrades and the quality deteriorated rapidly

Two wheel drive Traxxas Rustler is what got me into the hobby. Its so old it had a servo and physical resistor as the speed controller!. I still have the original chassis upgraded to brushless.
I love my Senton, it's the perfect size to not break every time it crashes and still goes to the moon.

I came to the channel to see RC cars and I stayed for the love that Kevin puts in what he does and the spirit of camaraderie who reigns there
I love the arrma boost setup but I wouldn't have expected them to be as slow as they are oh, I guess it's how they get you to upgrade it quickly LOL still great trucks and awesome video Kevin!!

I purchased the vorteks boost for my son but found it wasn’t quick enough. Brought the 4x4 upgrade and installed a brushless set up . The stock pinion gear won’t take anything above 2s on a 80amp esc . But has been fine on 2s so far , tops out around 30mph and that’s perfect for my sons skill level at the moment 👍
Which is better to buy as a full 4wd and brushless or upgrade?🤔
I gotta say: the 4wd conversion looked about as easy as it possibly could get.
Those things take a beating!! I thought they would be weaker than their 3S versions, but it seems like other than the gearing, they are almost the same. Awesome video.

I made my Vorteks Boost brushless, better gearing, better slipper, kept it 2wd, and it's one of my favorite cars ever.
Make it 4wd trust me I have one and 4wd transformed it
So much fun!

Either the 4wd boost or the brushless boost should come with a center driveshaft bearing/support at least

This shows you don't need to spend thousands making your RC all metal with fancy parts, with a basic cheap but good quality RC and some upgrades you could rip the streets no problem

If I still raced I'd have me one of those Sention boosts to see if it could dethrone the cheapest Traxxas slash 2wd for a box stock class on a clay track.. Easily my favorite class to race because damn few take it serious and it's just a freaking blast..

Love the video😂, will say upgrade to metal diffs I've been trying to upgrade my big rock to 4-6s with hobbywing max8, 4s stripped both diffs pretty much instantly 😂 upgraded to metal diffs and a slipper delete plate all metal gears was great for half a battery then sheared a cvd end off 😂repaired and same again so need to find 17mm cvd conversion now, love this hobby keeps me busy 😂
Man I absolutely love your channels. You’ve shown me how easy it is to tackle anything Rc related. I have upgraded everything I have except for my arrma kraton 6s blx and traxxas maxx v2. It would be an honor to bash Rc with you my friend. I know everyone wants a chance to win something from you. I hope and pray for the best chances possible. It would be awesome to have an xmaxx. That’s the last one I want for my collection then I should be happy until my workshop gets built. Then I plan on running my own business

Talbot. I've got a mtx hyper go brushless 16208. It's insane and indestructible. We all know where they got the idea for the Xmaxx from.😂

I have a 1/10 arrma typhon that I want to upgrade like this for a while. It came with four wheel drive, but it has the same electronics.
Couple years ago after only having 2wd for years! finally went 4wd! I'll never back!

To be honest, Arrma seems a bit all over the place when it comes to quality from what I've seen on this channel, the 4s line is really durable, the notorious and outcast seem like a solid platform and the infraction seems pretty good too. So I'm not sure how long these budget ones will last, but if its kev proof then that's good enough for me.

These senton boosts make good donor cars for the blx, most of it can be used, arms etc chassis shocks
I have the 3s version of the vorteks. It is a great little rig, but stock tires do suck

Now that you tried taking these cars apart a few times, how do you rate the difficultly/cumbersomenes ?
i wish the traxxas 2wd slash could do this, that would basically mean that different parts between the 2wd and 4wd would be the same as the motor, esc, and battery would be in the same place so a bumper would be cross compatable
And the boost 4wd upgrade only hurts the brushed motor more unless going to brushless
