This explains why my life turned out the way it did. My parents just never let go. They would let me outside ... but then collect me and forcefully take me back inside their home. I begged to stay outside and learn the wild ways; but no, back inside I would go, never learning, never growing. Today, as an adult, if it wasn't for cheeseburgers ... I would not know how to forage for food.
The few times I escaped really benefited me. I'm just glad I had the chance to learn at least a few skills as a kid.

I'm glad I grew up in a time that children reared themselves and roamed freely in the wild, with no adult supervision. At least until the street light's came on. If we roamed too far from home and didn't make it back until after the street lights switch on, we had to be very stealthy and avoid the incoming verbal assaults and missile attacks.
