Waylon Jennings played his last major concert at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium in January 2000. Backed by the all-star Waymore Blues Band (“the band I always wanted,” he later recalled) along with his wife Jessi Colter and guests John Anderson, Travis Tritt and Montgomery Gentry, Waylon delivered a moving, exhilarating performance, revisiting his greatest songs one last time.

Lyrics:
It's the world's gone crazy cotillion
The ladies are dancin' alone
Side men all want to be front men
And the front men all want to go home
The johnny-come-lately's are comin' in early
The early bird's showin' up late
The straight men all want to be funny
And the funny men all want to get straight
Villians have turned into heroes
Heroes have turned into heels
The dealers all want to be lovers
And the lovers all want to make deals
It's the world's gone crazy cotillion
The ladies are dancin' alone
Side men all want to be front men
And the front men all want to go home
The meek they ain't inheirited nothin'
The leaders are fallin' behind
So I'm singin' my song to the deaf man
And dancin' my dance to the blind
It's the world's gone crazy cotillion
The ladies are dancin' alone
Side men all want to be front men
And the front men all want to go home
It's the world's gone crazy cotillion
The ladies are dancin' alone
Side men all want to be front men
And the front men all want to go home

This was one of my moms favorite songs
BEST COUNTRY WAYLON JENNINGS ITS THE WORLDS GONE CRAZY MUSIC 🤠🤠👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲
February 2023, and this song applies to today, probably more than the day Weylon wrote it.. I wonder if he knew what was to come? And who the hell are our children calling heroes now-a-days? A crazy world indeed, Waylon!
A song for today I think.....the world`s gone crazy......One of Waylons best songs among many. Still sounds great
Watching this, I recalled something my brother told me about. He had been to a concert of Waylon's, and happened to be staying in the same motel as Waylon and Jessie. My brother said as he approached the elevator to go up to his room, he saw Waylon and Jessie waiting for the same elevator. Figuring that they didn't want to be bothered, my brother said he stayed back, deciding to wait for the next elevator. He said Waylon turned and noticed him, and asked if he was going up. He said Waylon told him there was no need in waiting, since the wait may be long. It was the next thing that happened that blew my brother away. He said Waylon approached him and introduced himself! Saying "hi, I'm Waylon Jennings, that lady there is my wife Jesse". My brother would say many times following that, he could not believe how humble, and unpretentious Waylon and Jesse were. He said they all talked for a few brief minutes as if they had known each other for years. My brother passed in 2011, and was always sad that we lost Waylon, way too damn soon. Be well everybody.
What a lucky man
Awesome
"Wow" what a man he was, nobody will ever be able to fill his shoes. I listen & watch him every night together with the Highwaymen. I knew he was a good man from all the interviews I've seen him give. So sad he passed away too soon.
I’ve heard how much of a gentleman Waylon was, so thanks for the story. I’d probably be so nervous I’d barely be able to talk. I was fortunate enough to have seen him in concert opened by Buddy Holly’s Crickets. Oh the miles and stories that man had! The BEST 💯
Very good voice of Waylon Jennings 🎉 really , the best from the best , that’s why I love him so much , hope to see him in heaven 🎉 😅 😊 😢
Sleep well hoss, we miss you in 2021 ♥️🙏⭐👌
Ye got that right Waylon.

Crarzy ass times 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Fits excatly
Great word a, love the melody!!
It’s hard to see him hurting enough to sit for a concert , RIP
Three cheers for the two women on this video, the singer and the one playing the electric violin.
not sure but I think the singer is Jenny Arnold, that's jessi colters daughter by Eddy Arnold. According to an interview with Barry, a Bass Player that worked for Waylon for quite a few years in the eighties.
Waylon‘s voice is much better in thi last concert ❤ , wow

I wonder if Waylon knew he was prophesying the near future when he was singing this song?
do we have any idea who that guy that comes in on the last chorus is??
I don't listen to much country music but not because it isn't most excellent! My stepdad was from Oklahoma and loved it but i didnt like him much!✌

The backup girl is, that not this daugther Jennifer.
Roll Tide
When I was a kid I loved this song, but I thought Cotillion was a woman's name.
I though Waylon was informing some woman named Cotillion that the world had gone mad.
I liked the album version better.
