I like seeing these videos and your comments that he is not totally domestic or wild and that you need to make sure he has special housing and food needs-- it takes special housing and food considerations and work to own a big cat, and you need to be the right kind of person. You seem to have all these qualities. He´s a very happy lynx. It´s also an important message to make conditions better for lynx in the wild. I do admit when I see these videos, it also makes me appreciate my domestic house cats a lot, too. It´s pretty amazing that domestic cats still have maintained much of the same look and behavior of their wild cousins, but they come in a convenient and loving home-sized model. So we can support efforts to protect wild cats in the wild, but we also can also appreciate domestic cats, because with them we have a little bit of that spirit of the wild cat in our gentle but independent house cats.

I have a black tomcat that showed up in my yard and adopted me. He looks like a miniature black panther. He is very strong, but also just a big baby. If I don't pay enough attention to him when I'm outside, I joke around that he'll beat me up until I do, HaHa! Because he does. He'll swat at me, bite my hands, or attack my feet until I start petting him again.
ToMMy, Max likes to gnaw on my hands while I'm petting his face. It's a bit annoying and something I try to discourage but he's done so since a baby. They sure do love to be petted! I have three mini panthers... lol.

I often hear, "wild animals belong in the wild." What happens when there is no "wild" left? When the wild is gone, there are two options: captivity or extinction. Education is the key to our species survival. Your statement although ending in confusion lends proof to humans being an invasive species. When an animals population has grown so much as to displace other species then that animals population needs to be reduced and controlled. Max is gorgeous you are very fortunate.

Awesome to have seen a live GH Owl in your yard! I saw one last year at a wildlife festival. It was with a rehabilitator. I was so excited that I wasn't watching where I was walking and tripped, fell and tore my shoulder. Live birds of prey are beautiful! And I agree with you.... too many people and we are destroying the land and water. So sad.

Thing is too, cats are *never* domesticated. A cat is a cat is a cat really, only real difference is size and temperament from breed to breed. A Siamese for instance is more wild and vicious than any Lynx lol.
This big kitten is amazingly purring. Something amazing is how beautiful and that she loves her master. At the end of the video, he expressed his gratitude by licking how well he had caressed his master. I love the sound of a cat purring soothing a man. There are many more such purring videos. My family owns a lynx just like him. So cute. Wouldn't hurt a fly. He plays with our pet deer and cocker spaniel too. The deer is terrified of him. Can't see why.
