True, this game is 18 years old, but the OP looks better animated than most modern anime OPs. Not sure if it's still cell animation or if they jumped to digital with this OP though.
@@DesMondesBlut Well most anime openings for video games look better not only because of the budget but the animators probably put more effort into say 15 minutes of animation in total compared to an anime that runs for a decade.

Part of the reason the quality is very good is that many animators in the late 90's and early 2000's had been working in the industry since the 70's (like Hayao Miyazaki), so they had a lifetime of experience, skill and honed talent to bring to works like this. Technical animation skill in Japan generally has seen a downwards trend in the past 2 decades since because many of those talents retired and there has been an ongoing recession, meaning they can't cultivate the same level of talent as previous generations nor can they afford to splurge on animation like this.
Has there ever been another trailer or opening as majestic as this? When this particular one came out, I saw it, obsessed over it, looked for it, got it, and saw it everyday. The combination between that theme song and the visuals... man, I DON'T EVEN WATCH SAKURA WARS!

That's because SEGA gone all out spending MILLIONS (not yet adjusted for inflation to today's currency) on the production on the opening animation. It was well-known to the point of almost being a meme back then.

I never thought I could love another group after Ohgami left the Teito girls. But I absolutely love the Paris group, and ST3 ended up being one of my favorites. I would kill to see a nice re-release of this fantastic series.
Yeah and 99% of modern anime music is unmemorable. I really liked when they would put effort into Thier music like Ichigos theme from bleach and the Sakura wars theme or fooly Cooley just to name a few.

Don't lose hope. We thought Shenmue wouldn't have a remaster either. Sega will probably re-release at least the very first game to promote the new Sakura Wars game.

I don't really care how much money it would cost at this point I just wanna play them in English. Its nice to see there are others like me who still want these games though :D

@Gabriel Resende Sakura Taisen 3 is identical in concept to Sakura Taisen 1 and 2, tactical grid based mech combat with dating sims element to raise the girl's status but with updated graphic and few enchancements using the new Sega Dreamcast hadrware like second screen/ Kinematron using VMU, and real time 3D movement using Dreamcast joystick the more you get points from dating sims, more you close to the girls, the more powerfull they are in the combat section
@Gabriel Resende there are many translated menus and script available, back then we used alot of game FAQs, not complete, but still very helpfull, and my friend even bought original and official strategy guide for Sakura Taisen 3 and 4 and its helps A LOT for difficult characters like Lobelia

Did watched the anime of the first Sakura Wars and hell, it was amazing to watch and the plot was great, explaining the Sakura traveled from Japan to Europe to head for the Imperial Capital to fight against the Black Sanctum Capital to follow in the same shoes as her father did. Also, to become part of the member, she must learn to operate the Kobu, perform on stage in the theatre, and get along well with the Flower Division squad. Damn, I like the anime and wish to keep going forward, but there is the first one and the movie in Kiss Anime. Oh well, guess I need to go old school to move on towards the series. 😅

This series is so good. I can't believe we didn't get one localized earlier until the last year of the ps2.

Lost technology level animation.
