Great breakdown video! 🚀 🚀
Thanks, Ryan!
-Alan
🚀Cool stuff Alan! I love how if you simplify, you'll have more time to create which means cooler stuff. Hats off to the CG Boost team for creating amazing courses
Thanks Jared! 😄
-Alan
Great video! I really love the message of taking a simple approach to create something intricate. Removing barriers to achieving a inspirational vision and making your goals attainable is one of the things that can keep learning fun!
Thanks so much! And I very much agree :)
-Alan
Must admit the discover of Cubic World was the most exciting moments of my (short) life with Blender. And this video and "behind the scene" elements do match all I want to do with my limited skills. Thank you so much to the entire team, and thank you for making things possible. I can't tell you how you changed my life two years ago!
Wow... that is very inspiring to hear! Thanks, really :)
-Alan
Cool video, loved the breakdown on how the limitations helped, and seeing other people's animations. [insert rocket icon here!]
Amazing work and creative. 🚀♥
Amazing video Alan!! I'm seeing new cool little details each time I watch your animation, love it

-Alan
Awesome and Inspired. 🚀
Mission accomplished ! :)
🚀🚀🚀🚀 i will buy this course thanks for the inspiration
So cool and inspirational! Definitely gonna spend some time thinking about my own cubic worlds story. Well done to everyone who already made theirs! 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
Excited to see what you come up with!
-Alan
This looks fun! I've got to do this.🚀🚀🚀
It is quite fun!
-Alan
impressive.. fantastic🚀🚀
Thanks!
-Alan
🚀🚀....i am amazed
🚀Thank you for the mail notification and especially thank you for this amazing story and creativity!
Glad you liked it!
-Alan
amazing work!
Thanks !
Nice 🚀
My favorite part is the story-telling and the charming characters. I'm taking the course now - it is a lot more technical than I expected; much of it is review for me but I still find myself going through each video slowly and methodically because there are always these little tips that turn out to be priceless gems. Not sure I'll be able to get it all done in time to do my own cubic world afterwards for this challenge, argh! but I'm glad to be taking the course regardless. 🚀
Thanks for your kind words. We're happy you're enjoying the course and find it useful. The very idea of Cubic Worlds is to make complicated stuff as easy to handle as possible with some constraints (keeping things simple and 'cubic'). You can take this as a tip to make your challenge entry simple and thus achieveable. Sometimes less is more :)
Hey, Alan! This is really nice! :) 🚀
Also... 3:27. :)
Hey Darren haha. Good catch :)
I really enjoyed this inspirational “boost!” 🚀 I have a passion for capturing moments in time when I’m out with my sketchbook and pen. Combining Cubic Worlds and Urban Sketching would be neat.
That does sound neat! Please share it if you do.
-Alan
🚀 amazing work alan and your students are so good,
Hope there is a course on anatomy/ charcter design completely in blender would be cool to watch
Thanks!
And, taking notes on your request :)
🚀 Very nice video Alan! Great inspirational words. Thank you! 🪐🍀🐳
Thanks so much!
-Alan
🚀What a wonderful promo and heartfelt testimonial! Thanks guys!
Thank you!
🚀Cant wait to start this in the new year! New years resolution here we come🚀
🚀 thank you sir
😁
Great tutorial. Great contribution. You have my like Greetings🚀
Thank you! Appreciate it.
-Alan
🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀 man this video has inspired me a ton, I was just looking for someway to accomplish something similar to Inside or Somerville, I think this is it.
That's great to hear😁
-Alan
Hey, amazing vid! I was just wondering how you made the mountain model, and how you put the black marks on them? Thank you!
🚀nice
I am not sure who is Manuel Scheller is, but I created "Mediating in Forest" (7:24) scene. Though the idea was not mine. I got inspiration from someone, cant remember his name though but his scene was in daytime, and I created this in nighttime, which I thought would be interesting.
Thanks for the correction. I added it to the subtitles. Manuel Scheller's animation is the animation you are referencing, which caused the mix-up.
-Alan
🚀
Nice one! Hey, you have any idea when the challenges are back? I loved having a go at a few of them and looking through people's different ideas!
Really... like really soon (but shhh🤫! it's still a secret.). Stay tuned !
Working on it :), but can't confirm anything yet.
-Alan
🚀 I really like the engagement you create with your videos. It trully is alive! Amazing, thank you for showing the process!
Wow, that is very nice of you to say! Thanks for watching until the end.
-Alan
Очень красиво!
Thank you!
🚀cool to watch. I think part of the reason cubic worlds work is because it just boils the story down to what it needs on a minimum to get done.
Agreed, it helped me have more fun with the story.
-Alan
Heck Yeah!!! Lord of the Rings at the TOP OF THE LIST!!! Lets go Peter Jackson!🚀Edited Cause I comment when I saw the list
Yeah! I'm probably do another rewatch of the trilogy, soonish.
🚀 rocket hard to find until I realized I could just search for it. Helps to read as well as to take Zack's Classes!
I agree, I learned a lot from Zach.
-Alan

!!!!!!
why is there a Bloodborne wallpaper here :O just for a frame though!?
🌚
Awesome.... I took this course but never finish it....🚀
Well, you can always come back to it, when it's the right time.
-Alan
🚀😉
🍩😁
🚀not an art style that excites me but the animations were amazing
Appreciate it :)
-Alan
Zac so whats the new course about ...really excited cant wait...when you will annouce it ...
Very glad you are excited! I can confirm we are working on some exciting courses :), but no release dates yet or what they will be about. We want to make sure the projects are finished or near finished before announcing them.
-Zach
🚀🚀🚀
🌪️🚀
Wow, let's make new episode for Love Death and Robots anthology 🚀
I'm in 😃
-Alan
So I don’t know how to add a rocket icon… 🚀 oh okay… figured that out :D see how helpful CG Boost is… but all jokes aside, the courses have always been amazing. I’ve not picked this one up, but watching this makes me think I might give it a try… amazing as always :)
Thanks! Really like your comic drawings from your site :)
-Alan
hi. are u made this animation compositing in blender?
Why the animation itself is so laggy? It looks like it's made in 10 fps. Is any fix for that?
The characters are using a stepped interpolation modifier to make it seem like stop-motion animation. Zach does something similar for some of his characters for his cubic animations, I liked how it looked and decided to do the same :)
-Alan
🚀doing 2 courses, cubic and launch pad. Not a fan of sculpting but, maybe, I'll do it too. Waiting for something new. And liking the landscape, too.
We are working on some new courses (can't share the details yet), but there might be something interesting for you.
🚀One day i will make a great story like these amazing examples...
But first i need to start!
Go for it!
Sadly the hosting provider they used to host the course is blocked for my country.
Strange, can you email us at www.cgboost.com/contact. Please let us know what browser you are using, and from what location you are trying to access the course.
How long did you take to make your short movie ?
Hard to say specifically, as I combined it with other projects. But I estimate around two and a half weeks.
-Alan
How long do the renders take for these?
Since it is in Eevee, I think around 2 or 3 hours rendering on a RTX3070.
-Alan
太神奇了,我真的很想学习。立方体不怕渲染困难。当我掌握了坚硬的表面时,它很快就会到来 🤪🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
🚀honestly , I just want to see more of these compilations of cube videos , all the different creative ideas, styles and worlds are amazing. Im sure this placed restraint could really usher the creative juices of many people who could make 20 min shorts or even full length open movies in a fraction of the time and resource of a studio production. It also opens up a whole world of reusable asset creation that is simple to modify because its so low poly and simple to render on potato hardware. Its like 10 steps above creating a mine craft movie universe.
🚀loved this. I’m not exactly sure what I’m passionate about creating. but I love creatinf
Think about any movies, books, games or any other hobbies you are interested in. This might spark some more clear ideas.
🚀The limit is the sky, haha. Let's make some new cubic worlds!
Yeah! Hope you can join the challenge. Would be excited to see what scene you choose after your fisherman scene.
-Alan
@@cgboost thanks Alan. Sure I can join the challenge with one of my favourite ps game scenes. I'll share some wip with the community soon. 😎
@@prlanyi Looking forward to seeing your creation !
🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀👍
Hi zach......Is AI going to replace 3d character artist....?
It might happen someday, but not for a long, long time, I don't think. Getting a character to fit a certain style, have good topology, and contain all the elements you require is a lot for an AI to get right and so far, there is nothing even close to that.

🚀 Great video. Currently I finish writing a novel and wants to illustrate in a way of making it a comic strip. The creation of landscapes, habitions and caves make up my history. I am also interested in using Grease Pencil. I took the course of Martin and Kevin and also Master 3D Sculping from Zach.
That's a good combination to learn from. If you learn to make something realistic first, and then stylized them with Grease Pencil and Stylized shading in Eevee, you could get a very interesting look.
-Alan
Think inside the boy
I thought you ment: 'inside the bot' :)
🚀 how do people come up with ideas like that? i still struggle with that
Getting some inspiration form films, games, books etc is a great starting point for many artists! :)
~ Masha
Am I wrong for wanting to quit my 6figure job to Persue my passion for animation and 3D art? 🚀
I guess no one can answer that question better than yourself !
