I really enjoyed this Hellcat video. IIRC, it looks like you're in the Imperial Valley. I used to live in Holtville - which had a Naval Air station where Hellcat pilots trained in rocket firing and skip bombing...................before I was born. Thanks for a great presentation (and effort)
Actually it’s riverside county but the town is called “Thermal” I grew up near that field lol. Thanks for the comment, I’ll load up another video when I renew my local club membership, you can check their videos on CVRC club in thermal👍
Beautiful model!!!! GREAT FLIGHT considering the crosswind you were dealing with!!!!! Personally I wouldn’t have flown in those conditions. I’m assembling the same model right now with electric power. I have to be honest and say yours looks much better than mine!!!! Really like the scale details!!!! AWSOME JOB!!!!!
How well does the opening up of the caul flap help with cooling the engine? Did you have to open the caul flaps on the bottom of the airplane? Do you have a video showing how that you accomplish opening up the caul flaps?
Congratulations, great job. I have the same kit but have been following your progression. I really like the antenna line on the back. I will surely put that on my bird as well. Also, I got a pilot, Roberson wheels as well by following your progression. I might suggest painting your antenna line black so it stands out better. Just sayin.
Just a heads up, my first videos I was experimenting by fiberglassing and adding flaps. It turns out that the plane was to tail heavy and was not going to fly. So I scraped the plane and started a new, but this time I kept the plane stock only modifying to take the SAITO fg19r3. Happy build on your new project 👍
@@nallalib397 Im very cautious about adding ANY weight. That Saito sounds AWESOME ! Not sure if Im ready to drop another $800 on this hobby. Awfully tempting.
Few years old video but how is the FG19 temp wise? I was banging through the Snafu Thunderbolt build on RCGroups and that guy had a ton of issues with this thing overheating and losing power.
Don’t remember haven’t flown the plane since that video, right after I crashed it and haven’t put it back together. I’ll probably do another video on temp sometime this month.
Subscribing to support people who look like me for a change (and you are cool to get explanations from !) Will tune in every once and a while and see what your up to ! thanks 4 the video ! Bye the bye I'm new to the hobby and am looking to guys like you to pass on knowledge to everyone about THE BEST HOBBY IN N THE WORLD !!!
Very nice Plane ! Good flight! I've never flown a gas engine.
I used to get a lot of crap from the guys because I wouldn’t fly on windy days but then I spent much less time repairing than they did 😁
I hear yah brother, I’m fairly new to the hobby I’ve been in it a couple of years and every dollar that can be saved counts 👌
Horrible landing ? Man I thought that was pretty good for that nasty cross wind and it’s a warbird. Great looking plane and vid . Thank you.
Beautiful plane !!

I like the hellcat so much I hope I can buy a Ziroli hellcat in the future, have fun building your plane

looks and sounds great. grats in your maiden
I think you did pretty good. I wouldn't have flown in those conditions.

Thanks painting the antenna is actually a good idea
If your small broken gear cover was the only damage in wind like that youre LUCKY.
Do you have the same plane?
@@nallalib397 I do.
@@nallalib397 Its still in the box. Your video has inspired me to get back into combustion again.

For the wind as strong as it was the landing wasn't that bad.
