Yes, AC is important, I tested it before buying, City I choose because its bit better also, City VX model headlight are better and its overall more VFM in 15lkhe budget

City is a more sorted out practicle thing specially after 5 years when that 1liter motor is gonna fall apart because of the stress it went through. wagon r has 1 liter block. 😂

In india we have loads of roads which are broken, loads of breakers which are poorly designed and a lot of places with water logging. Therefore ground clearance is a big factor for any car and a sedan offering 180mm and still providing great handling is unmatched
For awareness so that you don't end up making a wrong choice based on your need here is my observation related to space between city and slavia.. Saying that City has more rear seat space compared to slavia is a bit of a myth. I couldn't disagree more with that. Having very recently driven both cars (city and slavia) with family members I can say that there isn't much between the space offered in rear seats for city and slavia. Pretty much the same. If truth be told my family who sat on the rear seats they said they found slightly more shoulder room in Slavia compared to City. For me the point where city excels is comfortable seats. The seats have more of a cushiony feel compared to Slavia which has more firm seats. While this is good for short distance travel, over a longer distance having more firm seats is actually more beneficial. It tires you less.
Why everyone is forgetting to mention the standard safety features like multi collision brakes, brake disc wiping, reinforcement on doors etc in Virtus and Slavia......laser welded roof too.......
I wont say that Virtus/Slavia have more features as compared to City. As per the latest development, both Virtus and Slavia will have 8 inch infotainment system even in top variants. Even the premium speakers and subwoofer have been removed from Slavia. And there is no support for wireless Android auto and wireless Apple Carplay in the new system. In terms of features, Slavia and Virtus in their top variants offer only ventilated seats and wireless charging that City doesn't. Having test driven Slavia, in my personal opinion ventilated seats felt useless. Airflow is very weak and you hardly feel anything. And other factor is the weak AC in new VW/Skoda cars with 1.0 L engine. On the other hand, City offers connected car features with an option to turn on car AC remotely which is very useful in our summers. City also offers auto up and down in all four window. So, I wouldn't give more points to Slavia/Virtus for features so easily.
It doesn't make sense to buy 1.0 engines of slavia or virtus. Although both of them offer a fresher design but the engine is having issues especially in summers. I personally cancelled my 1.0 Slavia and went for 1.5 DSG Slavia. And believe me I don't regret a bit. It's a perfect car. And to my surprise it offers a better mileage than the 1.0 engine. Not taking away anything from Honda City, it has proven it's worth over the years and is a very refined car. The only downside being the low ground clearance and in cabin noise at speeds of 80-90 kmph. Believe me Slavia's in cabin noise is very low and it gives a more luxurious feel.
@SARANG Yes agreed. And luckily got my car on 31st May before the increase in price. DSG is not that bad in bumper to bumper traffic and you always have an option to switch to manual mode and use those paddle shifters
Build quality city is no whare compared to slavia and virtus. Ground Clearance, looks, infotainment, bigger sunroof, bigger boot, wireless charging, boot space, ventilated seats. City no where stand near to slavia.

I have just received my 1.5Tsi Manual Slavia a few days back, my first car was a hyundai verna 1.6Crde which served me well. But believe me this car is something else completely, it is unfair to compare atleast the 1.5Tsi version to anything in this segment. This is a far better experience than cars a even a few segments above or close to twice the price and even if it is 20% more expensive than the 1.0 this is a bargain of a vehicle for the price.
apart from the engine is there anything in this car that is comparable to atleast cars in this same segment? poor cabin quality, even cheaper cars like Nexon have superior interior quality and then again the poor reliability of skoda and vw…. agreed the 1.5L engine is a gem for enthusiasts, but for normal buyers it has nothing…

The built is as good as any European car, yes thr plastics are different but none of them look cheap. You're comparing this to the nexon 😆 not even close. Even features wise (if you get the current model not the updated one it is far better overall and feature wise also). Yes I would probably want a change to the touch aircon and maybe a 360 camera which you don't get even on the competition.

@@elvis9241 apart from the mind blowing performance and the excellent mileage from the engine it has an outstanding ride quality , is better built than any competitor in the segment , has the best infotainment system(I have a creta 2020 whose screen I thought was the best in terms of visibility , touch and interface but Slavia's screen is just much better) , best in segment bootspace , outstanding ground clearance and the list can go on if you want ...I have a 1.5 mt too and haven't faced any issues till now and hope I dont have to face in the future too ..

1. Biggest issue of city is mere 165mm of GC, which further aggravates on full load. 2. Slavia sales has already beatem city last month clearly showing buyer's inclination towards 179mm of GC, coz previous Rapid was also of low GC whose sales was far below than that of H. City..
If you are buying car with 180 mm ground clearance then what is the point buying Sedan when you can get better ground clearance in crossover suv. The main reason we buy sedan over suv is because lower ground clearance with lower seating position for better handling. Sedans with 180mm ground clearance looks awkward.
The issue of City's 165mm GC can be resolved with upgraded tyres. You can opt for 205/55R16 in place of 185/55R16. It will increase GC by 11mm + Better Braking + More Comfortable Ride + Better Approach & Departure Angles. And you need not to worry about tyres touching the body etc.

Škoda slavia and Vw virtus are almost the same but Slavia has better audio system. Ride quality and mileage is also better then both Virtus and City. Both the cars are good in their forte. Overall the Virtus is almost perfect but there are some things that could have been different or better. It has potent engines but its suspension setup is on the softer side, which gives it a comfortable ride but its handling is not that exciting. Its interior quality too won't wow you and cars like the Honda City are still a step above in this regard and because of the narrow cabin, it becomes strictly a four-seater. On the other hand, Honda’s fifth-generation City sticks to the tried-and-tested formula. If you are looking for a car to be driven around in, the City makes for a solid choice. I wanted to book Slavia 1.0L AT however, recently they have hiked the price by Rs. 50,000/- and with that they have downgraded the infotainment system. This price hike and infotainment system downgrade applies to Slavia, Kushaq, Virtus and Taigun. With all the packages (RSA and maintenance pack), the Slavia 1.0L AT comes around 19.2 lacs on road! This is makes the car very overpriced for what it offers. Even honda also hiked the price of City by Rs. 20,000/- and with that they will be giving reduced spare wheel and some other downgrades. Thankfully at one dealer I got May 2022 model in stock and I booked Honda City ZX CVT. Though it offers less features, but still it's a VFM. Skoda and VW are overpriced for sure.
Their is no price hike on Slavia or Virtus. Both Slavia and Virtus are 40k more then City which is very much justifiable. Audio quality, Drive quality and Mileage of Slavia is better then Virtus and City. Build quality of all three cars are really very good but Slavia and Virtus look more up to date then City. Virtus looks more sporty but Slavia looks more stylish..

I think this time city has really upped their game especially with the petrol hybrid variant and apparently the material quality on the interior is far superior to vw & skoda. The virtus 1.5 has a very aggressive RS type interior which I did not like
I have driven new city and slavia.. but without comparison, when it comes to back seat comfort and suspension.. it's the Ciaz which is still the king...!!! Handling VW will be great...no doubt...!!! Honda City is stiff suspension and the Tyre needs an upgrade. Also need to look at the features, safety and also the price .. i feel VW is good one to pick...!!!
I have driven both the VW virtus as well as the Skoda slavia… both are pretty decent to drive but offer nothing extra over the Honda city 5th generation. The Honda ivtec engine is far smoother & much more flexible as compared to the 1.0 ltr tsi engine on the virtus & slavia.. I say this because on the city one can actually engage 6th gear at 30kmph press on the accelerator & pick up speed without any shudder… brilliant drivability. .. also above 4000rpm the city actually brings a smile to your face. As for the 1.5ltr engine .. it’s brilliant but grossly overpriced and not worth the price. In conclusion it just doesn’t seem to feel like an upgrade moving up from a city…the iceing on the cake is the fact that the Honda city V is better equipped & priced lower that both the virtus & slavia mid models.
@SARANG as a matter of fact I have driven the 1.5ltr virtus & other than bragging a slightly faster 0-100kmh fit for boy racers it offers nothing over the 1.5ltr Ivtec of the city… much better real world mileage on the city too.

I’ve been using my bmw 3 series and polo gt close to 10 years. No issues with the engine my dad has Honda city the quality of plastic is pathetic. Dashboard noise. Both VW and Honda service cost is same.

I am looking for a sedan which is a reliable family car, trouble free with good mileage. I am stuck between virtus and city. My heart goes for Virtus.. But there are too many negative reviews on the 3cylinder turbo engine.. Is it really reliable... Please help in taking a decision..
Both the cars are good in their forte. Overall the Virtus is almost perfect but there are some things that could have been different or better. It has potent engines but its suspension setup is on the softer side, which gives it a comfortable ride but its handling is not that exciting. Its interior quality too won't wow you and cars like the Honda City are still a step above in this regard and because of the narrow cabin, it becomes strictly a four-seater. On the other hand, Honda’s fifth-generation City sticks to the tried-and-tested formula. If you are looking for a car to be driven around in, the City makes for a solid choice. I wanted to book Slavia 1.0L AT however, recently they have hiked the price by Rs. 50,000/- and with that they have downgraded the infotainment system. This price hike and infotainment system downgrade applies to Slavia, Kushaq, Virtus and Taigun. With all the packages (RSA and maintenance pack), the Slavia 1.0L AT comes around 19.2 lacs on road! This is makes the car very overpriced for what it offers.
Even honda also hiked the price of City by Rs. 20,000/- and with that they will be giving reduced spare wheel and some other downgrades.
Thankfully at one dealer I got May 2022 model in stock and I booked Honda City ZX CVT. Though it offers less features, but still it's a VFM. Skoda and VW are overpriced for sure.
I think the price hike and downgrades applies only to Slavia and Kushaq
Their is no price hike on Slavia or Virtus. Both Slavia and Virtus are 40k more then City which is very much justifiable. Audio quality, Drive quality and Mileage of Slavia is better then Virtus and City.
Build quality of all three cars are really very good but Slavia and Virtus look more up to date then City. Virtus looks more sporty but Slavia looks more stylish..

Yeah, parts are quite expensive. Also service network is bad and no resale value. VW and Skoda is a L in most aspects.
This guy did a comparison of diesel sedans 2 years back and only one out of three is here after 2 years.

I think this time city has really upped their game especially with the petrol hybrid variant and apparently the material quality on the interior is far superior to vw & skoda. The virtus 1.5 has a very aggressive RS type interior which I did not like

I have driven new city and slavia.. but without comparison, when it comes to back seat comfort and suspension.. it's the Ciaz which is still the king...!!! Handling VW will be great...no doubt...!!! Honda City is stiff suspension and the Tyre needs an upgrade. Also need to look at the features, safety and also the price .. i feel VW is good one to pick...!!!
Slavia is more good for rear passengers
And even boot also is big in the segment without adjusting the back seats if adjust then no comparisons

I have driven both the VW virtus as well as the Skoda slavia… both are pretty decent to drive but offer nothing extra over the Honda city 5th generation. The Honda ivtec engine is far smoother & much more flexible as compared to the 1.0 ltr tsi engine on the virtus & slavia.. I say this because on the city one can actually engage 6th gear at 30kmph press on the accelerator & pick up speed without any shudder… brilliant drivability. .. also above 4000rpm the city actually brings a smile to your face. As for the 1.5ltr engine .. it’s brilliant but grossly overpriced and not worth the price. In conclusion it just doesn’t seem to feel like an upgrade moving up from a city…the iceing on the cake is the fact that the Honda city V is better equipped & priced lower that both the virtus & slavia mid models.
@SARANG as a matter of fact I have driven the 1.5ltr virtus & other than bragging a slightly faster 0-100kmh fit for boy racers it offers nothing over the 1.5ltr Ivtec of the city… much better real world mileage on the city too.

The Manual Petrol variant has a mileage of 19.47 kmpl. The Automatic Petrol variant has a mileage of 18.41 kmpl. Whereas, depending upon the variant and fuel type the City has a mileage of 17.8 to 24.1 kmpl.

I’ve been using my bmw 3 series and polo gt close to 10 years. No issues with the engine my dad has Honda city the quality of plastic is pathetic. Dashboard noise. Both VW and Honda service cost is same.

yeh joke tha kya.. engine reliability over time hands down will go to City which is proven in the segment! if your daily commute in within the city nothing beats the city, but if your commute is mainly highways then VW or Skoda comes into the picture.. Honda Ivtec naturally aspirated engine is the undisputed king till now! Skoda and VW have yet to prove reliability over a time period
