I’m a gringo, but my partner is Latina. you and Rick Bayless have helped me learn so much about authentic Mexican cooking. I remember making your al pastor at the park grill on one of our first dates. What a special memory. This will be my first pozole attempt, no idea what it’s suppose to taste like. I’m sure it won’t be perfect, but I’m excited to begin my journey. Thank you!
. Wow What an awesome rendition. Bravo !!! Many a time in the last 23 years I've been fortunate enough to get recovered by a delicious Pozole after a weekend of celebration. I love my Mexican friends.
I made it & it was so much better than mine . My adult daugters picky & says no ones pozole has flavor . But wen she tasted yours she said wow finely a pozole with flavor . your an amazing cook thank you so much 🥰
Nelson, I like this shooting and editing style versus what I have seen in the others. Using more of the kitchen gives you more possibilities. Rossana, watching several of these videos, I can see how your confidence has grown and your personality come out as you have become more comfortable doing these videos. Thank you both for the effort of documenting these recipes and for helping gringos like myself learn authentic Mexican cooking.
@VillaCocina my MIL is a phenomenal cook. And she's been cooking since she was 4 so long before she could read or write, so everything is by texture, taste, eyeballing, etc so it's very difficult to duplicate or come close with ratios and measurements to preserve los sabores de la familia. Which would be such a pity for them to disappear. So recipes like your help give a baseline so that I can reverse engineer hers through observation and noting some differences and nuances.
I made it!! Turned out amazingly delicious 🤤 ❤ whole family loved it!! i also added some pork neck bones that i found at walmart, the broth came out so creamy and rich.
I love the idea of using broth to rehydrate the chiles! Also, to help remove the can flavor from the hominy you can roast on a sheet pan for a few minutes.
Oh my word. I didn’t know all this was in pozole! A few minutes ago I saw a video about Pioneer Woman’s attempt. I knew it couldn’t be right. I definitely gotta make this.
That's just the recipe I was looking for! Thank you. And tell Nelson that I too always eat with my pets and they do get to sample most of the dishes. Thanks! Zk
Love your videos! Thank you for this recipe-I appreciate that you don't skip the details, but still present it in a simple way. You guys seem so sweet, too. Provecho :)
I will definitely make your Red Pozole soon Rossana!😋 In fact I have a bag of dried white corn hominy from Rancho Gordo that I'm just itching to make. Would you consider making an updated YT vlog of your delicious Apple Cake this fall, and uploading the written recipe to your website? Pretty Pleeeeeese!🙏🙏🙏🍎🥮🍏
@@VillaCocina Rossana, if you don't have time to make a new vlog for your wonderful Apple Cake this fall would you consider uploading the recipe to your website? I can't seem to find the full written recipe on your Villa Cocina website. It would be great if we could all print it out for some fall baking.😃🥮🥰

Omg i love pozole. My abuelita made it for me, and now that she has passed, eating it brings back fond memories of her. Definitely going to try!
It would be a nice tribute to your grandma for sure 🙏🏼

Pigs feet for your collagen intake, bone broth Mexican style❤
The pigs feet definitely add a lot to the pozole!

My youngest son, and I love Pozole. But I’ve never made it. I didn’t know it was this simple, thank you. I will be making it with him soon.

Never had it but it looks amazing as always!! 💛💙👍🏽☺💯
It’s a great dish! We love it!
I know nothing beats fresh but is this a soup that you could freeze or would the hominy get soft.
thanks
Yum. Reminds me of my grandma's posole.
Hello, your recipe looks great and I'd like to make it. What size stock pot did you use? 12qt, 16qt? Bigger?
I’ve never had pozole, but this looks amazing!!! Btw you and Nelson are just too cute 😊
Thank you so much 😊 let us know if you give it a try
Delicious, comfort food on cold winter day, 😂😂😂😂😂
You know it will come in handy!
This looks amazing!
God bless all here.
Thank you! You too!

Delicious had to check out the salsa video
Salsa Macha is paired with pozole for the spicy lovers
I've never had it but I'm willing to try it.
It won’t disappoint!
I love pazole! But is there something that can be used instead of pig's feet or can they just be left out altogether?
You can leave them out if you prefer.
What's the escape hole for in the blender? I've never seen that done before.
That looks awesome !!!
It absolutely does! And taste amazing as well!
Do you happen to have a video of red chicken pozole? I love your recipes by the way 😋
Really nice cooking videos.
Glad you like them!
Looks very good. Fyi I did the Pollo Loco recipe you did OMG.. 😊 took me like 2 3 times to make it good but it very good 😊
Great job! Persistence rewarded then! ☺️
❤😊🎉 looks very good😊🎉❤
My favourite......
🙌🏼 you have great taste!
For your salsa Macha can you use avocado oil instead of grape seed oil, we stay away from all seed oils.
Of course! avocado oil works well.
Hmm que bua comida
Awesome!
what can you substitute the hominy with?
Substituting the hominy would take the “pozole” away from the dish. I do have other soup recipes you can try if you prefer
I’m with Nelson oregano on scrambled eggs is great
He couldn’t agree more 😅
Your Posole looks delicious
It’s a delicacy ☺️
Looks good. Ok, I'm subscribed. Lol
Awesome! Thank you! Welcome aboard!
WOW, never had it but it sure looks like a very yummy dish. Rossana, could you email me the leftovers???
That would be convenient wouldn’t it 😅
@@VillaCocina Yes 🤣😂😅
How many servings will this realistically make? 6 pounds of pork and 2 patas seems like much more than 10 servings especially with the hominy?
Delicious 😋 from Barbara 😊
Thank you Barbara ☺️
Looks delicious I love pig feet.
Pot size in quarts???
More YUM
Pigs feet are just for flavor or did you eat them too? Couldn’t I make it without the feet?
They add body to the broth and flavor, we do eat them. You can skip them if that’s what you prefer.
Is Nelson the luckiest guy
Or what
He sure is! 😄
like the new hair style
Thank you!
Nelson you better marry that girl, if you don't I am going to !!

Not authetic. It's missing Aztecs secret ingredient
