    • @OfficeHanchoBoxing
      @OfficeHanchoBoxing  2 года назад +39

      He had a good trainer , idk it would've helped much . Because he did most of his learning and developing on the road fighting in sparring sessions disguised as paid pro fights . He avoided sparring at gyms because he thought that's where most damage on a fighter takes place which he is very correct. A guy like him wouldn't been able to have all these fights if he was stuck sparring guys in gyms.

    The "one Korea" approach of the boxer @13:40 doesn't really seem "edgy", and seems likely to have been a safer/less controversial option than just representing North Korea. For example, both countries sing the song Arirang, which is "sung today in both North and South Korea, and represents the symbol of unity in the region that is divided by the Korean War." There have been unified Korean sports team at various events in 1991, 2018(in the winter olympics held in South Korea) & 2019, with athletes from both countries competing together in team events. eg: the unified Korean 500m women’s dragon boat team won gold in 2018 as the Asian games.
    He became a *South* Korean citizen in early 2007(& retired shortly after), and has remained as such.

I wouldn't have minded seeing Chocolatito win their second bout, but some of the scorecards in the first fight were so bad it kind of evens it out. Also, Brian Viloria was a fun fighter to watch. And great at skipping rope. Estrada is about as fan friendly a fighter you'll see though.

      Unfortunately in the boxing culture that had been created, people would shame Buck Smith . There are fighters who are literally doing that rn but be shamed on social. Up and comers being shamed and asked to fight a "real boxer" I don't understand what is a "real boxer" . I think the whole Paul thing sorta exposed the hypocrisy in our community. He's literally fighting guys who should be sparring partners or less in high profile fights for money and gaining experience at that if silly as that sounds . He's literally fighting Buck Smith level opponents if not higher.

    • @cattycats4
      @cattycats4 2 года назад +1

      @@OfficeHanchoBoxing I agree I actually watched him fight Anderson Silva and Silva was made to pay because Paul knew what he was doing in the ring, I think the alphabet titles makes casuals think that everyone is a nobody unless they are a world champion because title fights are so commonplace with most having less credibility than a world title should, I blame Don King etc who put everyones eyes on the prize and no interest of how they got there or the battle to win, same problem with Eddie Hearn and Dana White they never boxed or fought so they push their limited perspective focussed on titles and PPV numbers and everything else that isnt what people watch it for. If I see the skills of Emanuel Augustus or Buck Smith Im sold, appreciate the video about him btw. Boxing needs to be run by boxers or people who love boxing more than money (Teddy Atlas etc)
