Love the Sax ❤
To my untutored ears his sax sounds just fine
MARVELLOUS MUSIC---- PLAYED WITH BRILLIANCE BY THE VERY GIFTED MUSICIAN, POET AND COMPOSER, VAN MORRISON LOVE ❤️ EVELYN O'CONNOR
Great :-), nice to hear it 🥰
Gracias, solo puedo decir mil gracias, que maravilla, lo pongo mil veces y no me canso
Lucky to see him in 85 .
Astral Weeks is one bewitched mystical bit of vinyl so it is
This might be the coolest video on the internet
Wow! Who'da guessed? Van the man on the sax. He should do it more.
Morrison has been able to play beautiful sax: listen to the first cut of the album Poetic Champions Compose and be transported. (People saying he can't play based on a 4 minutes of a 38 years old video are being stoopid).
I like this! And he is good!
actually had to have a second listen...about 53 seconds in a guy runs over to the monitor to have a listen!
Van is not a great sax or guitar player by sax and guitar player standards. But he doesn't need to be, he communicates through the instrument just like the way he uses his singing voice. Its not about being perfect - its being in the moment!
i think it sounds good in the same way that neil young sounds good on guitar solos
Must have been the monitors or something! I love the way the rest of the band don't bat an eyeild
Was he having an off night on the sax perhaps? Has anyone listened to his Poetic Champions Compose album where he plays the alto sax on 3 original pieces -- Celtic Excavation, Spanish Steps and Allow Me -- all very lovely.
Van Morrison is one of my all time favorite singer/songwriters, but a sax player he's certainly not. Great clip though once he puts the sax away.... ooops, there he goes again! :)
Kaspar Galli I think your arse is talking crap. I take it your NOT a sax player
@@ronphilpott4430 You're right. He's wrong.
What's with all the sax snobs coming out of the woodworks?
To the saxers out there, is Van particularily good at the sax? Also any ideas what key it's in?
Rory - I think it's in the key of D.
Buffy Flow
Thanks for sharing, but isn't the title of this song "Boffyflow and Spike", not "Swiss Cheese"?
No its swiss cheese
It’s Buffy Flow on the Bootleg CD, titled, “If you don’t like it, go fuck yourself”, which Van said to someone in the audience at the beginning or conclusion of Street Choir. I guess Van was particularly ornery this night.....but when isn’t he?
Grins. It's pretty er... interesting!. He's matured a bit now he's 45 odd years older. The man always surrounds himself with the very best musicians. I dunno why he feels the need for these indulgences. At the Montreux concert in 1980 pee wee Ellis does a REAL sax solo.
I'm glad you have no say.
@@keisi1574 yes van is the man & he can do whatever he wants
You have a very weak mind.
