You know it’s a good day when Jen and Jake upload a new video.
ALWAYS!! 🙂
Not a lot of people would think about or be curious about disassembling and repairing a relay. I hope you take pride in that! Great work.
I love that you are returning to what you do best-fixing stuff haphazardly.
You have a real gift for old bikes. The fact that you managed to fix the turn signal relay is just amazing.
LOVE YOU GUYS
Awesome investigation with the flasher relay. When I fix my electrical stuff like to do the same: open up, see how things work, tried to fix it and maybe later order a new part.
I’ll never stop saying it, this is such an underrated channel. 👍
Great video, Nice to see the KM100 all fixed up now. Its always nice to see one of your videos pop up. I really wasn't expecting to see my comment on the last video pulled up like that, Sorry I ever doubted you! Beetlejuice was the first name that popped into my head as well so I have to give that one my vote.
I've actually had better luck out of the cheaper batteries on Amazon compared to the more expensive ones. I'm on my 4th year on my cheap one, and I got almost 2 years on the expensive one. Great video team. I really enjoy watching you two. It makes my soul happy.
My father used to tell me about his 1954 BSA Gold Star 500, 6volt system, magneto. He said he'd run it off the magneto & get a "dim light at idle & a really bright headlight when revved up." This video reminded me of that story.
You know, the positivity, mentality and lifestyle of you guys is something i will never forget.
Love seeing all these videos!
You're great :)
I have the same hairstyle. It's called "balding", I think it's because I'm smart and also because I like to fix motorcycles. A lot of hair scratching sometimes. Been here long time, so I miss more frequently uploads. I'm about to install a Chinese Keihin fcr41 carburetor in my KTM 640 and I'm gonna make that into a video. I also works slow and tideous like this and enjoy the moments when it all works again. But sure, sometimes it's frustrating and hard to start on a project. Both of you are so fun watching and I enjoy the videos even though installing a blinker or fixing a relay I have done before. But I'm here to enjoy watching you two, and not to always research and learn. But you learn me a lot too. And I'm 48. Love Norway
My first ever motorcycle I owned when I was about 7 or 8 was a 90cc version. Might have been a KM90 or KE90 and looked almost the same as this bike of yours. Think it might have been the KM90 as I remember it having a headlight but not having indicators. Either way it gave me so much happiness living in the country being able to ride it around. I'm now 47. I've had many bikes since. A 1981 Suzuki TS185,1980 Yamaha air cooled YZ125 1st of the monoshocks. A 1987 FZR250 2kr was my 1st road bike that I bought in pieces as the last owner had the chain snap and it took out the front sprocket bearing and needed lots of TLC so I stripped it back to the bare frame and restored it. Then a 1990 Yamaha TT 350 which I bought with a worn out engine. So that again ended up a bare frame restoration. It was my dream bike as a teen and I bought that in around 2001. Only did the restoration after I moved about 2018. And I still have it. Only last thing I would like to do on that would be to get some nice rims and spokes done. Also had a 2006 Suzuki SV650 which I sold a couple of years back. So now in my garage I have the TT350 and recently bought a 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4APRC which I am doing a few things to before summer comes along at the end of the year.
This video brought back some good memories!!
Could you give us an update on the Shasta? Can't wait to see that completed!
Lets gooooo!! Long time no see 🤩
they’ve been posting g
Hey guys much love from Riverside CA! I love you guys! Your wife is the best!
I had a head light, no power problem, at night, on my Honda CBF250. Dismantled the head light switch on the left side, it was fine. From H/L switch, wires run across to right side, start push button switch. As when start button is pressed, it temporarily disconnects head light when starting. Cleaned up bad contacts, now working perfectly. Pays to read the wiring diagram. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺😮
Great video! Well done. I first found you guys when you were working on a small generator getting it to work. Loved the small engine stuff. Any chance doing more? Thanks for doing what you do. Very entertaining.
Dont you tease me like this.. All these videos recently and then dormant for months. Keep it up, love watching your videos.
Glad you like the videos. We'll try not to disappear.
I love that you showed us the trail 90!! I followed that series a long time ago
I really hope you are loving the new place . You’ve definitely had a lot of traveling and adventures over my years watching and honestly always still get excited when a new video pops up in my notifications 👍
THE PAN !!!! Yesss, finally we see the pan again !!❤❤❤
The pan is legendary.
When you were doing the headlight repairs I was thinking about the pan, and then 10 mins later the legendary pan appears !
Classic motorcycles can have a mess of other peoples “wiring” in them, strong work in cleaning it up sir. But what about the turn signal indicator light in the Speedo gauge?
I rebuilt a (non-running )Suzuki TS100 over 40 years ago, great fun, I'll never forget the first time it fired up!
You guys are awesome. I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel a few years ago.
That blinker unit is awesome. Thank you for sharing.
Major electrical overhaul + Beetle-like aesthetic? I dub thee 'Bugzapper'
Welcome back again... always good to see you making videos..
Yall are doing great. Keep it up!
Always good to see a new video from you guys. And you make wiring seem so simple, almost makes me want to start messing with an old bike. Almost. Cause I know I'd just make a mess out of the wiring.
so good to see you guys!
After having a bad day, then seeing a new video from the garage in my feed. Instant happiness
Great job on the awesome KM100. Love to watch both of you make a video together. Thank you from Fresno California.
I always enjoy your videos. Keep it up!
Found this video very helpful thank you, I'm in the process of making a custom harness for my wr250 to add indicators or turn signals for you guys in the u.s. I've also found the kx100 video very useful, keep up the good work 👍
Awesome video!
Another awesome video from you guys
swap terminals on brake and tail light,,you just got it
Camera Girl: "I Guess it Broke Some More". 🤣😂🤣😂🙃🥰
Lot's of video latelay! Thank you so much!
The real minibike life style !
I miss the Honda 125! Glad to see you still have ol panface
lol panface. yeah I still got it
All the blinker relay manufacturers are cussing you tonight! Lol. 😅
Roxanned 😂. I'm going to have to steal that.
God bless from Newcastle Australia 🇦🇺
I've really missed your content ❤
I love you two guys 😀
Yep I’m gonna go re watch the kdx 200 playlist again you convinced me
Yes! A video. 🙌
Idk...... you worry about the quality of your videos but I'm sure I'm not the only one that would watch you two joke back and forth about planting a chia pet.
Take care guys, love the videos
Read many comments so keep making more videos!!!! People want to see them including me!! Take care!!
Not gonna lie, I half expected the headlight to magically become a pan. Complete with handle still sticking out.

Amazing video, so much fun to work on a motorcycle. Did a custom hazard light switch install before summer with diodes. Not much good video’s about this on RUclips.
Btw high/low beam also looks reversed.
Good video
Good job . I’ve had the bulb problem before. On most six volt bikes, the battery is your voltage regulator. If you run the bike without a battery, the bulbs over-volt and blow out almost instantly. It happened on my old Elsinore.
Today has shaped up to be great! An upload and my application to adopt a dog has been approved so I’m getting my dog on Saturday! Kai he’s a German Shepard. I’m telling everyone including you guys! 😃
Thats great, congratulations!
@@jenniesgaragethanks we are so excited to get him home on Saturday
New JG video let’s go!!
33:00 Asia has put the kinks in the cable-ends in reverse. Making install upside down. And downside up. Follow me?
Thus, the spring got pinched between engine case and swingarm pivot. 🙂
I agree ideally the spring shouldn't rub like that. But it's too weak to pull the switch the other way too.
Bettlegeuse works good. Black and white like his attire in the movie.
Cool little bike. Needs some ape hangers though LOL
thanks!
40:33 This man trusts his wife's kick more than I trust myself, letting her do that right above his multi-meter lol
Rubber mounting helps extend the life of the bulbs, less vibration means longer filament life😀
Another great video you guys. They are on but do t breathe on them. Lol too funny.😂
I have been working on one of these bikes (a 76 KE100) and one of the biggest problems i have been having is getting the turn signals to work reliably. They are kind of a pain because they bolt to the chassis for the ground connection, and ill take em apart, clean the ground connection points, put em back together, and they will work for a few days, then randomly stop working. I have cleaned and taken apart just about everything on the bike, even the engine, and the turn signals have been the most frustrating ha. Kind of hard to find 6v bulb now a days also. ALSO hard to find a good turn signal relay, i have ordered 2 of them already and they were both subpar. Had to get a used one, but its not much better than my old one, but it does work, it just doesnt work the best.
If you are having that much issue and believe it's the ground, why not run a wire from the battery to your chassis ground point (essentially eliminating the use of chassis ground, while changing the system as little as possible) just to eliminate that as a possible issue?
EDIT: Also, if you are having issues with the stock style relays, have you considered swapping to something like what you'll find if you search "Solid State 6V Flasher"? Those are less prone to defects and also less likely to die of vibration.
It is great to hear from someone who has a KM100! If you are sure the problem is the chassis ground, I agree with @nevir202 that you might try a new ground wire. At least it would eliminate the chassis ground as the possible problem. Being aware of how they fail can also give clues, like if they all fail together that would suggest a bad relay, power supply or switch. If they fail independently of each other that points to something like a ground wire, or something wrong with the blinker itself. I agree the relays are fiddly, and am tempted to try a solid state one.
Have thought of running a ground wire, but there really isnt a good place to attach it to the blinker, I mean would i solder it to the bulb, or housing itself, or just pinch the wire in between the chassis and where the blinker bolts on? There isnt another wire coming from the blinkers like the aftermarkets you got. I was thinking of just buying new ones and swapping them out, and running a ground like you did, but i would really like to keep the bikes original blinkers. As for the solid state 6v flasher, i didnt know about those, so i will look into picking one up. Might help.
And im pretty sure its the ground, cause i followed the whole wire harness on each blinker and made sure each connection is good, and it seems to be all good. I dont think its the switch, cause just one blinker, the right rear, seems to be the one that gives me the most trouble. Thanks for the suggestions. @@jenniesgarage
Woo hoo another video , and a long one ......
Though gotta say , with both of you with the innuendos , get a room 😂
Great to watch you guys , working on tha bikes !!
P.s. I'd have had no hair left , having to figure that spaghetti out. Well done pal !!
@42:40
Him "I think it's the complete package"
Her "But what about the motor cycle?"
Yep, I watch these videos for the "quality content" 😍
Oh yeah, congrats on the bike work too.🤣
Im satisfied!
"The Scarab". (Dung Beetle or Jet Boat) 😂
Nice it works… Beatle jucie it is, said about the taillights being hooked up in backwards last video.
goog job guys 👌
Good 😄
The trail 90 is what brought me to Jennys Garage yesrs ago
Mad Max for the KM name.
Only yall can make turn signals fun!!
Yay!
Went to start work then I saw a new Jennie's Garage and thought,.."Work can wait!"
Switch spring wire was upside down, plus you can shorten the spring so it will work.
Nice
Thanks!
Well now that I finally was able to watch the video in its entirety, I think you should name the KN100 Ringo. You said it looks like a beetle, but I thought Beatles…Ringo is a solid name.
Y'all's videos are so well laid out and edited!
Did you verify the turn signal indicator in the speedo housing worked as well? Maybe I missed that part.
A good name for the black & white KM100 is humbug.
A name I would say Kimi great video
I had a 1990 ke100 here in the UK,it was my first ever bike and it was fantastic 😂 it would splutter in the wet though due to the plug cap getting wet and later on it kept blowing condenser's but apart from that it was my baby I could hit 55mph on it 😂
Please take the unused rear blinkers Off!!! No bueno. Great work. Look forward to all your content.
Jen and Jake are the neutral lights of RUclips (I meant that as a compliment!)
When should we expect to see a release of a major motion picture? Appreciate you guys!
Beetlejuice is perfect because his suit was black and white, just like the bike.
I’m going to suggest that the coiled wire is not causing heat and the bending of the metal tab, but causing an electromagnetic field through the tab which pulls it to the other body of metal.
I would say that's possible, but It certainly got very hot when I connected it.
It reminds me of a bike off grease 2 for some reason. 😂
Part 2? I cant see a part 1 anywhere, do you have a link for it Jake?
Call it Esc4p3, like the Beetle spaceship on the Journey album cover
😎👍
Hey man! Hope this question is not to personal, but what is it you studied for back in the day? Or what work do you do nowadays? You seem to know allot about general technical stuff, very curious!
I think the rubber / back-light was to insulate it from vibration too stop the elements in the bulb blowing so quick
Could be the case, but I'd also worry that rubber being a poor heat sink would thermally isolate the bulb, making it blow FASTER just for a different reason.
Water in the rear right turn signal housing.
How about the brown wire being the power for a tachometer light bulb used on other models ?
The Dung Beetle!
You should name it Humbug!
When you made the ground next to the battery, were you concerned about the rust on the bolt, i ask because i have ran into that problem on my honda rebel, and my honda crv, i took my small wire brush and cleaned them of rust.
What about the turn signal indicator light, next to the hi-beam light?
My god I've had that over voltage problem for ages on my XL125 with a 6volt system. I'm going to see if getting that voltage through the battery makes it work. Any clue if yours has a rectifier before the battery? Mine does and I have no idea if I can just push that 40+ volts through there.
