- We had to take a break from youtube for a couple weeks to clean up a house, but now we've got that mostly under control. In this video I discover a possible solution to the KDX200's engine trouble. Sorry for the delay.

I've got six microwaves and eleven shoes. Can I rent your house?
Pancakey and dounuty? I love it.
I'll be using these technical terms with customers from now on.
EG: You have a pancakey head gasket, so we will need to take off the top layer of the layer cake and shave off some icing before putting on the new dounuty gasket.
Great to have you back! Time to take some of those quarters and buy a gas engine for that Barbie Jeep...and some rings for the green machine.
I highly doubt that the carb seal was the issue but I still think like many others that you won't know if you fixed it until you clean the exhaust out, there's so much oil and gas and sludge in there that even if this thing ran perfect its probably spewing out smoke and gas and oil for quite a while until it cleared..
This is the only motorcycle and whatever show I watch on RUclips. You two get along so well. She does keep you in line, though.
I got no notification. Hope you get some good tenants in your rental, you guys are real cool people.
You are so lucky to have her...... You have NO IDEA
Where you been? Thought you left us and got a life... Hope not as your videos bring a smile to my face when I have a bad day in my head.. :)
Ive watched all your videos and I have about a 70% understanding now of a motorcycle compared to my 10% when I first stumbled upon this channel.LOVING EVERY VIDEO
Holys Moly I know this is an old comment but same here I stumbled across this channel and know so much about carburetors now .. Like I'm in school or something!
i like this channel allot. i like that you show the failures too (you learn something every time so truly not a failure) but its good too see the ups and down keeps it real and honestly helps the rest of us remember things in the event we run into them as well as knowing what to look for. you guys rock keep it up!
Bravo to the camera lady...hands on training. Love your videos. You guys have a Merry Christmas and a safe and a Happy New Yr..GB.
Team Jennies Garage, not only do I get an education on small engine troubleshooting. The friendly banter and interplay between you is a joy to see/watch/hear. Cheers to you :) many thanks and continued growth and success :)
I clicked on this video (because you ALWAYS watch a new JG video immediately when you see it) and just realized an hour and a half has gone by and I've watched like 17 of your old videos that I've already watched. I love Jennies Garage ❤️
Might have fixed the problem. Most 2 strokes will shoot out that black spooge stuff”unburied premix” when the bike isn’t getting ridden hard enough. Also might want to check the packing in your muffler could be soaking wet.
You might be the most tenacious person on RUclips. A great example for everyone watching.
Have you cleaned that exhaust out? Drain the gearbox oil flush it out completely then try starting it, as long as you don't ride it there shouldn't be any risk to the gearbox, I'd put a Buck on it being the crank seal though and just go ahead and change it
I grew up too poor to pay attention. When I was 13 I worked for a guy for two months to buy a busted-arse atc 110. I learned to work on it and resurrected it and that was my foray into motorcycle repair and building. That was 30 years ago. Since then I've acquired and rebuilt many motorcycles. I rebuilt my CRF450R last year, top and bottom, and I'm currently rebuilding the carbs on my CB600f. It's kinda cool hearing the background of how you learned much in the same way. Necessity is the mother of invention, but also education. ✊
Man I really like this blokes enthusiasm and willingness to share!
A new red ruckus seat for the wife and a cool driver arcade game for the kid. No matter what you thought was the problem with the Kawasaki and what the actually problem is, you can do no wrong. :)
You need to repack the silencer before you go deep into the engine ... as bad as it was running before that silencer has GOT to be clogged with wet oil/fuel...there are really only 3 things that can cause raw fuel to blow out like that , #1 would be compression, #2 would be weak spark , #3 would be a leaking needle/seat in the carb.. good luck
Is it just me or did he forget #3?
Sorry didn't read all of the comment... or just drunk
Wow! What a great couple you are! Thanks for sharing your mechanical adventures with us!
Ive been away from youtube for awhile & have 0 reason to go on here but i love these videos. Your smart the way you diagnose thing & you give some interesting tips I personally would nvr think of working in my bikes. Thanks for awesome content & keep it up!
I really like your videos, Jennie's Garage. I love dirt bikes and your rebuilds on motorcycles make me so interested in the rebuild videos. I am so motivated to watch them. I am passionate about your videos with a sense of enjoyment. I find it a really good time to sit back and watch an amazing show such as yours. I learn a lot and find you and your family are really neat.
I really enjoy when you make your rebuilds, the Shasta, dirtbikes, trail bike etc, very nice. It really makes me happy.

Beautiful smile cameraGirl!
I've been watching for a few months now and I love your videos. You remind me of the old 3dmachines before he turned his channel to trash. These are the type of videos I love to watch. Keep up the good work!
Love your videos! Honest and entertaining. 👍
God do I feel your pain. It is always up and down working on engines. When you think you got it and ya gotta go back to the drawing board. Good luck!
I was seriously just randomly wondering if y'all would upload today. Prayers answered.

Love the channel, I learn so much. Thank You both!
Really enjoying your projects
Great videos. Happy holidays to you all!
"just trust me that this is gas, i'm not going to use the torch here"
I love your unique style man
Hey guys, I love watching your videos. Very entertaining and fun. Judd.
I too do motorcycle and scooter work out of my own home garage and would someday like a KDX plated bike. Keep up the good work. Very entertaining, motivational and interesting. In my experience, once cases are split, might as well inspect all bearings, replaced as needed and replace all seals. Seals are cheap. Good luck, and congrats on the CA plate, BRAAAAP.
Keep on going. Tis the season tat miracles happen!
I love watching you!!!! More videos !!!!! Keep going BrosiVe .....!!!! EriC from Indiana
Repack the silencer and clean out the expansion chamber.check the reed valves and make sure they are sitting flat on the cage,if not, replace them.also check the float level, the float should sit parallel with the carb body,if it's too high, your getting to much fuel.one more thing to check is the choke, look at the bottom of the plunger,if the rubber seal is bad,it can leak fuel past it also.hope this helps!!!
Well you did say you “think” not you’re 100% sure, it’s trail and error and process of elimination, I enjoy watching you guys, great team work !!
I have no mechanical knowledge to offer, but still love watching your video's you two :)
Please upload more !!! Love the videos
Ur a great teacher was missing ur vids.
Pilot jet:42
Main jet:155
Needle: Sudco CGK 017.018
This will get you CLOSE but you have bigger problems with those seals bro, but you already knew that.
I forgot about that gasket in the carb. I bought that exact same security bit set at 6:43 for doing this haha
Fixing complex machines is very emotional!
Again I was wondering where you were. Another try didn't work but keep going. You wife's voice is so pleasant to hear behind the camera. Nice that she gets something too.
I just stumbled upon your videos and I was hooked. Bikes are like water bugs it takes a dandelion and a cloud of rainbow dust to scuba dive in a cold volcano.. makes no sense lol
No one goes silent on a project like 3D machines so you’re good
Love the channel keep up the good work
The exhaust needs a good hard run to clean it up, it will shoot oily gas out for quite a while after running cold and rich. Take it out and beat the snot out of it for at least 45 minutes then rinse and repeat test.
Mine ran rich and it turned out to be bad reeds. Replaced them and it ran amazing.
You're getting it figured out. It seems as you're similar to me. When I have a project going it absolutely consumes my brain until it's done. I rebuild it over and over and over in my head. Then when I have an epiphany in the middle of the night I have to run to the garage or I wouldn't sleep anyway. Also, please clean out that exhaust and repack the silencer when you get your fuel issue fixed. I'm sure you already know that though.
LOL "shovelin shhhhhhhhh...... oes"
Love watching your Vids man
A great video series
An old Yamaha Race bike builder here. ( family owned a dealership who built Freddie Spencer's early racers before he got the Honda factory ride.). That engine is not breathing. Here's where I would go:
1. Clean that pipe out , reinstall it and run it hard until it's no longer loaded up. ( with a fresh plug in it).., 2. Probably not a crank seal. It wouldnt spew fuel if it was. Only oil., 3., Oil/fuel tank mixture too rich?? , 4., Timing?, 5., Metering Needle set too high ?., 6., Bent reed valve, if any ? Maybe. Probably not. 7. Remove air cleaner to test ( for now). I bet that exhaust port is 1/2 the size it needs to be, due to carbon. Hope this helps.
This guy is inspired me to my new hobby
Shasta 😅 dude your wife doesn't forget much does she?...lol
A little scary that way she is, Yoda quote.
love your videos man, keep them up :)
Solid video mate. Merry christmas
Man, you guys are GREAT!!! Stumbled on your channel ,again and have laughed for 2 days solid.I have seen some of your older videos but they are more " business ".However, I love the more recent ones with some goofin around, but still great info.I'm a life long dirt bike guy and now at the age of 51 still love riding and fixing up old beaters. My three sons and I have about 4 miles of trails and and track on our farm and ride often as we can.If your bored, you can check out some of our videos, low budget and not that great, but you see how we roll. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Welcome back!
Soon to be camera boy watching his girl fixing things up......Merry Xmas and a happy new year.
Its time to do a full rebuild! Do It! Do it!
Clean and repack the silencer before tearing apart the bottom end love the videos keep em coming....
Long time viewer, first time commenter. I grew up riding motorcycles and working on them with my dad in the garage (since I was 5, I'm 33 now), so I enjoy watching your videos of fixing up bikes. This one got me though, you are wearing exactly what my dad would wear a lot of the time in the garage. Ripped up jeans with grease and who knows what, dirty shirt of the same description, and the same maroon zip up hoodie. Not saying I look up to you as a father figure or something, just made me laugh. Keep it up, sir.
I think it’s probably oil rings need replacing this is so funny I really hope u get it sorted out
You gotta hate the "Pay or leave" speech but it's part of the bidness. Great video, made a lot better by the camera girl. Thanks guys!!!
great vid love the arcade machines man
I love you and Camera Girls relationship :)
My favorite RUclipsr
“Shovelin’ shoes”. Awesome. 🤣
Things don't always go according to plan, that's what keeps them interesting
muffler is stopped up.
I think he had it running without the muffler

You Have Great videos.
I can tell you what’s up with her ,
She ain’t a Honda. 😂😂 sorry mate. Love the Channel really look forward to your up loads.
A good way to check crank seals, is to remove side covers on engine, take spark plug out, then fill with mix gas, while piston is on bottom of stroke. Check for gas leaking out seals.
7:22 just trust me that’s gas not gonna use the torch here😂😂😂
You have to admit, the red seat looks good on the Ruckus!
Only thing I think it could be is that the float is no longer floating, which makes it act like a bad need valve and seat problem. So many of these bikes were made long before anyone thought they would be putting so much ethanol in the gas we buy which is very hard on the older fuel systems. I have to run Seafoam in my scooter to help prevent damage from the ethanol. In other words, either the float has pinholes and fills with enough gas to make it not float or, it has soaked up enough gas to not float if it is a solid type. Good luck. Oh, you need to give Jennie her battery back, ha ha.
This guy is great.he kicks ass All his videos his wifes wonderful
Best. Channel. Ever.
Love the vids
Mate something worth thinkn about is the fact that the KDX may well have bn running rich on fuel and possibly gearbox oil as youve diagnosed ....but what im suggesting is during this running time it will hav filled the expansion chamber and tailpipe with residual oil/fuel....so i suggest you clean the exhaust as best you can ..eg ..wash it out with solvent and/or burn it out.....then when ever you alter the carb etc youl see a more accurate tell-tail out of the exhaust....also sometimes the internal baffle tube in the tailpipe can dislodge or break essentially blocking the flow path (partially) n as a result making the engine drown in its own burnt and unburnt gases......just a thaught worth lookn into .....Luv ur videos n keep up the good work ...n please squeeze cameragirl for me cas she's just so god damm adorable...n youre lucky to have found her ..lol ...cheers
Depending on your state or county landlord tenant laws, you may need to write an abandoned property USPS certified letter to tenant's last known address and wait the statutory time to lawfully keep that stuff. This notice of abandonment may protect you from a tenant coming back and claiming an unlawful lockout. Oh and change the locks. Remember to do background checks with next tenant.
loved watching the son driving that video machine
my 98 has had that seal problem for couple years,i finally ordered one and am installing tonight and water pump seal, mine ran fine other than it smoked more than it should and lower gas milage, rebuilt top end bout 1000 miles ago so i hope it makes a difference,my kdx is highly modified and street legal and i still ride trails and sand,im also swapping 2005 kx250f forks on it tonight as well,i might gopro it and start a channel soon
That bike has an onboard oil injector, check to see if it has been turned up too high.
Also check to see if the float level is good, if the float level is high, it will flood gas into the motor.
Also take the packing out of the silencer, it has to be soaked with gas and oil.
Cheers from Tokyo Japan
Just keep making videos. You got it.. Thanks
Always good to check your reeds. If they don’t seal good it won’t run well either
Love the videos. Please involve camera girl more with hands on things. Really trying to get my old lady more into these things. Next episode: newbie wrencher camera girl splits cases lol
Wicked video !
