Excellent tutorial! It was precise and the camera angles were truly visible! I’m new to sewing and have been doing this bias stuff way wrong! After watching your tutorial, it seems that the many others I’ve watched may be incorrect too. ? Thank you so much for inspiring me to improve!!!❤

Thank you! I'm not a sewer, but my daughter owns her own hair salon and was having trouble finding children's capes. I told her I'd give it a try and took the plastic cape that she had. I folded it in half and placed it on a folded yard of cotton fabric that I had and cut it out, allowing for a seam allowance for hemming. I wanted to use bias binding around the neck for contrast and more stability, you showed me how :)

I could kiss you. I have looked for information on the best way to sew bias binding on curves for years. This method is the most wonderful way I have seen yet. After time and use of fabric's done using other easier methods, I have found that the fabric under the binding begins to pucker up and show through to the surface through the binding. Wearing causes the fabric color to have faded out spots, and waves uncontrollably. This way...The extra fabric is cut off. Thanks so much!XXOOXXOO

I have always avoided bias binding like the plague but am faced with having to use it on an upcoming project because there is no alternative.
Just a thought for your viewers. Some people may find it easier to tack stitch the tape into place instead of using pins. Believe me I HATE tacking anything but in the case of bias binding I think that is the way I will go.

Great tutorial. I never know which part of the binding gets sewn. I.e. The raw edge of the binding or the folded edge. This helped clear things up.

Not only are you an excellent teacher but my favorite. Can you please help me attached bias binding on a "V neck" that looks professional. I can never get it to look perfectly flat. Thank you
