Used to always go to Gills' home games in this competition plus a couple of away games, but not been to a single one since they brought the premier league under 21s into it. #bteamboycott

L1 L2 and National League only
Keep groups as u get some nice local derby games
Half price tickets up to semis
I think it’s a great competition and look out for the results

Def keep it. Great for fringe players to get minutes . Keep the group stage , nice relaxed night under the floodlights watching football I quite like seeing the under 21 teams like Palace a couple of weeks ago.

It would work if it was a straight knock-out with pens after 90 mins and only featuring L1 & L2 teams. The U21s should have their own League/Cup which could be promoted on Sky. It's a win win.

Hi Matt, Without being a suck butt I agree with all you said. The cup doesn't fill me with any enthusiasm as it is. Would I go to Wembley if Gills got to the final.....probably yes because we don't get there very often......Good to hear you two talking about it. Well done. UTG.

As a Morecambe fan, I enjoy it.
Get to play some different teams.
See some stars of the future.
Give some fringe players a go etc.
Last night we beat Nottingham Forest u21 4-2.
It was a great night of football with my kid and a few friends for £9
Some much needed confidence for our players and we got our first home win of the season.
    What's not to like?

@@mattthegroundhopper9242 Yeh that seems to be an issue with a lot of people I speak to.
We certainly don't want premier league B teams within our leagues!
Maybe it's because we came from non league that I'm glad to be part of the competition?

Very enjoyable discussion. Agree with both of you regarding the U21. Who wants to watch them on a tuesday night. Also, if you look at some of the results and crowds involving the so called big U21 teams, like Man U, Arsenal or City, even the crowd interest in these games are meague. Most of these U21 players will never make the 1st team either, and most no name players end up either giving up, or maybe playing League 3 or non league. On he other hand, as Matt Boosey said, its minutes on the park for fringe or reserve players hoping for a breakthrough into the first team. Playing in front of less than a thousand isnt exactly inspiring either. Especially, if you dont see the ball for 90 minutes, as is the case against U21 teams. Doubt whether the powers that be will make many changes, but we definetely would

There is no atmosphere against an U21 team Berlin Dave because they don’t bring a crowd, just a very flat evening under the floodlights 👎⚽️

In 2008 Semi-final Gills were beaten by the Mortal Kombat Dons on penalties. To me it is a pointless competition I prefer to go and watch the FA Cup qualifier's replays instead.

My club Carlisle United has in effect won in twice!
We have been to 6 finals!
76600 saw us play in the 1995 final.
It’s a NO for me! Not happy with B teams……thin edge of the wedge. The sharks circle and are looking to see how B teams can be integrated into the league! No thanks.

Reckon if your history in the Competition is as good as yours, who wouldnt want to go. No idea if Carlisle reduce the entry prices though. As a Gills fan albeit from afar, it might just as well be a knockout, and we can concetrate on the league, because we will never go far in this Comp again. Peterborough and Palace U21 are not exactly L2 level, especially as we dont put the first team out anyway. Be surprised if 500 turn up for our last group game, unless they allow free entry lol
