If I may make a suggestion. There is a lack of ideas and directions for holiday parade props. I feel you could create some wonderful items with your skill. For example, I am considering making these boxes for the parade with a rolling bases so they can be pulled by lawn mowers. Your creativity is needed in this category. Thanks
Technically if displaying offset you can leave the back open, thus saving on plywood. So for a box you could only do two sides and the top. 😜 unless you live in a corner lot or really open space. Then it gets expensive. 😂
Those are awesome, but, if really love to see how you made the circular one. I'm in Australia and I think MDF might have to be my go to, don't think we have anything called hardboard at the local large hardware chain where the prices are bearable!
For the round one I cut a circle out of plywood for the bottom and top then used the 2x2’s around the edge. I used a thin piece of plywood I was able to bend to give the round shape. If you have any more questions let me know!
Great informative video! I wonder if 1/4" plywood would be thick enough? 1/2" just sems too thick and would cause those dang boxes to be SUPER heavy when all built. I think it should just be heavy enough NOT to blow away in a winter storm, otherwise the extra weight is unnecessary and the extra cost with today's wood prices!
Did u use MDF for the outside of the round one? And did u build it in 4 quarters as well and let the ribbon hid the seam? Surely it's not one or two sections only... But the sections are triangular in shape, correct? Good job btw! Very precise!
The ribbons are made from hardboard not MDF. I said that incorrectly in the video. You can use hardboard to to make the round gift, but I used poplar sanded plywood because it was flexible. (Bend it slow so it doesn’t break in half) The round one I made it in two halves but you could do 4. I cut a plywood half circle for the top and bottom and attached 2x2’s around the edges then screwed the side on. Yes the ribbon hides the seams. It’s attached to one side and slides in the other side.
Yes just make sure you seal it well with paint. If you use it for the round one make sure you can bend it. If you use it for the square gift boxes it will change the dimension’s because it’s not 1/2”.
It’s the same concept, I just use a different plywood so it is bendable. Feel free to email me at info@holidaylightingcreations.com if you have any questions!
Hi There, Love your gift boxes. Would welcome pricing on all 4 shapes. I would also ask can they be shipped and from which state? Thank You Very much, Chris Fernicola
Wow, That is beautiful and great job , I'm going to try making it for my school . I would love to know how to do the set for our School. Do you have the measurements ? Or how Do I go about it
Hi! I love Your video and this year I’m gonna make these gifts :) do you think that MDF would be ok outside, cause I live in Europe, so it has to be waterproof… I thought about impregnating MDF or using MFP? Or maybe You could recommend something different :)
In the video I meant to say Hardboard instead of MDF. You could also use some type of resin to coat them to make them stronger. If you use fiberglass resin, they will be waterproof.

I've watched a couple of your videos and overall I would say - these tutorials are not for the general population or average person's home. This build construction is way over the top in terms of structure, materials, and sturdiness. It would be more relevant for a permanent installation (i.e. amusement park or a holiday village at the mall, etc). The average person could build similar items will way less cost, cheaper materials, and simple tools. And another thing to consider - where would these be stored after Christmas? You can't really disassemble them easily. And even if you could, you would need a huge shed or storage facility to keep this stuff in the rest of the year. Not very practical. But thanks for the video.
This is great and all but who needs to spend all that money on the gift box I mean four sheets of plywood that's like 80 bucks as it is you're talking about 100 bucks just to make one box that's insane plus if you don't have a pickup truck to get this stuff home or the tools you're screwed
If you want a giant prop, you gotta shell out some money either way. No different than the people who spend hundreds on stupid inflatables. At least this is a unique piece, but yeah it would take a bit of effort (and a couple tools) but I think it'd be worth it.
I will be making a video in 2024! Lots of interest with the round gift box. If you would like more information for this year, please email me. Contact information is on my website in description.
Correction- The bows are Hardboard, not MDF. I stated it incorrectly in the video.

This is a great idea!! If you ever see me pulling a gift know the idea came from you😊
Great video. Ya need to do one on the round one though. :)
I’m sure he used the hardboard and the joinery is hidden under the ribbon coming down the side.
You are a magician. I can't do the math to make all the ribbons out of one 4x8 hardboard.
My dad would have loved these! Thank you!
You really put a lot of thought into making these. Fabulous job!
I did this last year with mesh an frame Yours look so much better
Those are amazing!! Great job and craftsmanship!
Simply gorgeous!!!!!
This is phenomenal. I'm in DFW and these gift boxes are the coolest thing.
I'm already started making this gift box. My box top is completed.

Looks awesome!
Amazing beautiful work !!!!

I would like to see frame work and list of material for round one
Sooooo cute ❤❤❤❤❤
Love your videos and thank you for giving the dimensions. Im going to give this a try but was wondering what is the color codes for the red and green.
I know the red was “flirt alert” from Home Depot. I will have to look what color the green was.
very cool.....thanks for the share....
Oh my wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing. But I’m very confuse about the round gift box

Yes, you should be able to use 1/4”. It would just change the dimensions slightly on the sides. The 2x2 frame should hold it up just fine.
Fantastic job. Where are you located ? I would like to get a complete set of these from you . Thanks 🙏
How much for a complete set and where are you located?
Great job. Question: what about rain, snow, standing water on the top of the gift box?
I put fiberglass resin over the top of the lids to prevent the water from causing damage.
Amazing!!❤❤❤ Love it!
How much for 2 boxes ❤love this
Brilliant! How much to make a set?
I think that's hardboard, not MDF. But that's an awesome build!!!
Yes you are correct. I always confuse the two. Thanks for catching that!
Looks great! Do you have any problems with these when it gets windy?
No, they are heavy enough to withstand a strong wind. I would recommend anchoring them down with concrete steaks though.
Hope this isn’t a dumb question but if I cut all these dimensions in half will it still work?
Awesome
you are awesome!

@@holidaylightingcreations ok, thank u! Beautiful wrk!

Where are you locate at?
They look so cool
Austin, TX!
I’m in Granbury. Would you sell these? I would drive.
What are the prices to have you build?

Sorry I missed your point
I asked that you except my apology please , thanks in advance....
How is the frame made for the round present?
How do you make the round box and bow ? Or how much does it cost for you to make me one ?

How much are they i love them
What are be dimensions and measurements for the blue gift box ?
I want a set.. How much are they
Where the heck do you store all this during non Christmas season … :/ love the idea tho
I wish you could make and send them to me!
How Are they stored?
All the sides break apart so they can be stored flat against the storage room wall. You have to take the bows off for storage so they don’t break.
How do you make the round package?
You can use hardboard to to make the round gift, but I used poplar sanded plywood because it was flexible. (Bend it slow so it doesn’t break in half) The round one I made it in two halves but you could do 4. I cut a plywood half circle for the top and bottom and attached 2x2’s around the edges then screwed the side on. The ribbon hides the seams. It’s attached to one side and slides in the other side. Also, I use hardboard not mdf for the ribbon. I stated that incorrectly in the video.
What was the cost for this box
Can you please direct me to the instructions to the round gift
We currently do not have instructions for the round one yet. If we have time this year, we will try to make another video.
❤❤❤
👍
Can you give a sheet of supplies needed? You went over the measurements so fast I could not write that fast. Thanks
How heavy?
How can I order 1 with yoy
about how much does this weigh?
Really cool and really great
but that's expensive stuff
But I guess that's not the point of this video.
Nice product!!
