That thumbnail to video preview when browsing was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Hope to see that more. It's like those tiktoks that loop perfectly. Very satisfying.
People who don't want to be seen with a proper handheld due to their age or circumstances might relish a tiny keychain device like the Nano and not feel embarrassed.
I swear you're my favorite channel when it comes to these retro handhelds and especially back when I first saw you through the GPD WIN MAX. It's been fun seeing you tackle these devices and get into specifics from hardware specs, to even the use scenarios like one handing this device same as the Miyoo Mini for RPGs. Definitely excited whenever new retro handhelds come out just to get your take on em.
As it is I don't really like it. For me it would be the best if: - It would be a nice ipod alternative, but it does not even have a jack output? If no jack output, then at least have bluetooth! But I would trade the R-L buttons for one jack output. - I don't like the square screen. I would have gone for a 9:10 (gameboy ratio) screen, and dedicate the device for gameboy and gameboy color games (but neo geo pocket would also be enjoyable on that)! - Thus the buttons you would need are: d-pad, A, B, start, select. Nothing more, keep it simple. The fact that you can play ps1 games on it does not mean that you should. If these changes happen, then I will buy this thing instantly and keep it on my car key ring.
Consider its not very practical for PS1 or other four face button systems, i think it would gave been better off dropping a couple of buttons and going all Gameboy clone. That way the two buttons have room to be made slightly larger.
Definitely a novelty, not sure if I'd even hang it off my backpack or use the keychain if I had one, I'd be worried about it getting taken or damaged. Still, this will probably sell a decent amount just for that very reason, I could see this as a great stocking stuffer.
I really wanted the funkey-S for a while, and i'd probably prefer the funkey because it folds closed to protect the screen. But realistically, i just wouldn't use either one very often. I'm not in a position where i would really use either one. If i could get my fingies on a pi-zero2w i'll put one in a dreamcast VMU though. I really want the zero2 not the zero1, since i only need about 1 hour of game time, just enough for waiting rooms.
My wake alarm for work conveniently coincided with the launch time. I like quickly jumping in and out of simple games while biking around. This thing is perfect, I am excited about the size!
Back in the 90's Nintendo actually brought back the Game & Watch series in the same size. I miss mine so this RG Nano looks like something I'd really like.
It's a handheld that suits NO ONE. If it was smaller then yeah it would be a great novelty to have but it's far too big for my key chain and I definitely wouldn't use it for music either.
I‘m so happy you are part of the big ones in the handheld space, you‘re videos about setting up the Win devices saved my life man!
I hear this is popular in prisons. Can't tell why.
Gotta keep gaming no matter what
Prison gayming
Very "pocketable"...😵💫
Yeah it fits well in the ol' prison purse
🤨

Came to say this. Holy shit, that transition (on RUclips Android) from thumbnail to video was so smooth.
Not at 70 dollars, at 35-40 it'd be super cool
Is that an Anbernic RG Nano in your pocket or are you just happy to see me for a whole new generation
It should come with a clear plastic case for keychain use
Id love a leather wallet like folding sheeve for it.

Every joint in my hand locked up just imagining trying to play that for any length of time. I can't even play my 351P without a grip.
Imagine thinking you're getting a Deck or ROG Ally and then this turns up 😆

How rugged is it? Could it be useful for a rather little gamer?
It’s a metal device, so definitely more rugged than your typical handheld.
Consider its not very practical for PS1 or other four face button systems, i think it would gave been better off dropping a couple of buttons and going all Gameboy clone. That way the two buttons have room to be made slightly larger.
I already bought 3 haha set an alarm for last night on release. What game are you playing around 9:15?
Chrono trigger
My ally is here guess I’ll watch this while it updates

Phawx, is there any hotkey or key combo setup to add L2/R2 inputs? If not that will eliminate a lot of PS1 games that require both.
Hold Select+L or Select+R for L2 or R2, respectively.
It's kinda funny because I plan to purchase this to use it like an iPod Nano tbh. I am obsessed tbh.
The old Dingoo Devices had the ability to have FM Radio. Do any of these Portable Systems have that?
hey Cary, love ur videos, dude! btw, u said "itself" 15 times in this video ;)
My wake alarm for work conveniently coincided with the launch time. I like quickly jumping in and out of simple games while biking around. This thing is perfect, I am excited about the size!
I need it. I've always wanted a tiny Pico-8 machine.
The thumbnail to video transition was so smooth i bought premium to see it 😂😂
map the a and buttons to the shoulder buttons, NES, turbografx, and GB/C is solved
This is cool from the perspective of you could literally have this on you at all times especially for short sessions (under 30 mins) this seems aweome
One handed play sounds awesome for old those SNES pr0n roms.
does it have bluetooth?
Wouldn't the screen get wrecked if you kept it on your keyring? Why so little ram? That'd bottleneck the cpu, no?
One handed Pokémon should be pretty good. Plenty of RPGs in addition to this.
Is it even reasonable to play Castlevania and Metroid on this?
It's kinda cute! For any 16bit and lower is pretty good! I want to get it, but... nah.
If this had buttons on the sides instead of under the screen, I would had considered buying it.
Is it just me or is this crazy expensive for what it is
How much?
@@jalene150 66 usd.
Same price as a rk2023
For what's underneath the hood yeah, but the build quality is top notch, I still do agree it's too much
I'd just go for the miyoo mini.
based
How do u even play that, u need a magnifier or what?
It's so freaking cute
That's what she said.
I don’t need it but I want it 😊
Dont like that screen. Too much vertical height ruins the look :(
And the fact that it is not fully equipped and does not have a charger, do you not consider it worthy of mention? At a price of 66 dollars.
Wow small gbc android?
Honestly, didn’t know ddr2 is still made

I miss mine so this RG Nano looks like something I'd really like.
The kind of thing that will sit in a draw after 5 minutes of gimmick use.
even so as a flac / mp3 player thats actualy useful unlike all the other cheap mp3 players that cost half the price and corrupt data like no tomorrow.
good video bro, does it run or can I run Java or .Jar files or games on this by transfering java or jar files in the memory card ? @ThePhawx
Eye Destroyer Nano :D
Manufactured e-waste
This is perfect when you have to pack light in a hostile environment.
Fine! I will call it a vision destroyer or an ophthalmologist cash-cow.
I prefer the funkey
this should cost 40$ max, not 70!!
I'm sure this comes with a warning sticker - beware of dog
Take My money
Things so small they couldnt even print start & select so they did st & se 😂
believe me its not a keychain, 😂
way too impractical to actually use.
look at that thing.
How to Uncomfortably play retro games.
Why 11 minutes
It's a handheld that suits NO ONE. If it was smaller then yeah it would be a great novelty to have but it's far too big for my key chain and I definitely wouldn't use it for music either.
first
pointless
sorry mate the only reviews i actually watch are "retro game corps" russ is the G.O.A.T.
