the Nano >>> funkey S. why? same screen type, CPU. BUT, Funkey has: no metal case, all clicky buttons, no real dpad, half the battery life. Also, the funkey clamshell is harder to hold. Funkey uses micro USB (nano has usb-c) and no headphone adapter/port. Plus, the funkey costs about twice as much ($125 vs $60). Easy call.
Agreed! Yeah I’m kind of shocked at the price of the Funkey … but if you spend that much I suppose you should defend it! Lol These are great points! If I can get my hands on one for comparison I’m using this!
sad BlackSeraph didn't do garlic os on this. Think he pretty much went to other more popular devices than this niche Nano. Would have been cool if he can hardware accelerate it by a bit just so taxing games like Tekken 3 won't be lagging.
@@RetroZoltan tekken 1 and 2 are pretty fine for this. Its just tekken 3 thats tanking (and from my exp, Bloody Roar 1 is smooth but Bloody Roar 2 isnt)
I was kind of on the fence about this, but I found one today for $30, so I decided to go for it. I'm not expecting it to be much more than a novelty really, but I'm going to keep an open mind until I have tried it out.
@@RetroZoltan It was actually supposed to be $50, but I had a $20 coupon for the site I bought it from. I don't know whether I would have risked it at $50 in case I ended up not using it, but for $30, I thought it was worth a shot
Can you upgrade the firmware by adding the update to the card by connecting the nano to the computer via usb cord? My pc doesnt recognize the sd card on its own and wants me to format. But i can access the files of the cord via the nano plugged in .
You can’t upgrade using the USB (sadly), just to transfer files. Writing an image to the SD should work, but you can’t see the SD card files on your PC because it’s Linux. If you need help making the upgrade still let me know and maybe I can whip up something?
With the audio issue you will need to have this device plugged in to the unit before launching your audio or movie software to get it to function properly and sync, Otherwise you are good to go. Sometimes if the movies too highquality I think that can also try issues try finding a movie in 240p and having the audio hooked up before turning on system/ playing the file.
Thanks! I have to revisit this. Would love to be able to push a bunch of movies on this for a trip … now there is the problem with the battery though. Lol
It is $65 right now on Amazon. That is not an audio conversion cable, it is a DAC with an 1/8th jack.
Thank you for that, i completely missed this. Tempted to pick up a few more, have a pixel now which currently has my attention.
Cool device, but a little too small. I fell like I heard something similar from a lady in the past.
Yeah it’s a bit … impractical.

Can someone help me with setting up a sd card with drum78 os ?

I can’t even imagine playing Tekken3 on this. Not that I won’t try now though, lol.

Wow what a high quality cool little handheld. Thanks for showing the upgraded software and keep up the great work!

$30??? Lucky!! I wish I paid that

This is a great handheld for gameboy games, its absolutely perfect for any gb title
I agree, GB games look great!!
I got one for $33 on amazon warehouse, I should get it in the next couple of days, thank you for the CFW info!
Great review! You can use a car key fob cover, first perfect!
Thanks! And … good advice!
Sunday night Zoltan! Any networking capability?
Not a chance.

@RetroZoltan personally would love a decent guide how to add the custom firmware, 1st time dabbling in this area
Please could you share the name of the Pico8 game? Thank you
The one with the guy running though a cave? That’s Hollow Seeker.
Looks cute; but I’d pick something else
Can't wait for the Super Pocket handheld that plays Evercade games .

Hey, I have shorts using the Nano as a keychain. Without a case or cover. Reckless, I know. Irresponsible, even.
Oh man… I really am geared up to do it, just afraid! Power to you!
@@RetroZoltan You can do it! Just take it out for a little stroll
The clock I think is because the were going to release a watch strap for it so you could wear it on your wrist
I’ve ordered one but I feel like if they were twice the size they would be almost perfect
I agree, the “GDI Pixel” will be more to our liking when it comes out for sure.
Hmm sounds like I need to do a bit of research
The cookie
Cookie for scale :)
I'm so glad this one seemingly makes you as happy as it makes me 😂
It’s got Pico-8!!
Does the Drum78 firmware have any issues?
None that I can see. Nothing serious anyway
@@RetroZoltan Great. I'll install it right away.
