Fantastic !! I remember when a mustered up enough courage to call CQ for the first time I was able to have a VK station come back to me , along with Croatia . Thank you for sharing. From Florida US 👍
Excellent video and all that meticulous planning clearly paid off. When you got to the summit and the view opened up it was quite impressive. Nice antenna improvisation too and a couple of VK logged! Add to that the couple of Geocaches and I would say that everything fell nicely into place on this activation. Well done David and hopefully speak soon. 73 Chris M0RSF
That bike! 🤣🤣 Really well done Dave! Worth the early start to get these two VK stations in the log. You had a decent mix of countries in there too. You must have been smilng all the way back to the apartment. Cheers, Fraser MM0EFI
Awesome video Dave. Sounded like you had to stop & think about the additional prefix to start with! I sometimes get that problem when I go to operate in Wales.....it tends to threw you when you have to use a different call (or an unusual variation of your own call).
New subscriber here, great videos. I've been activating with the same SOTABEAMS linked dipole as you for a little while but have recently been introduced to Steve Wheatstone MW0SAW's endfed half wave antennas by a couple of 'seasoned' activators around my way and I have to say it's fantastic, covers 40-10M without having to change links, is easier to erect and functions flawlessly. As an adage, the SAW end fed and my spectral comms slimG with 10m of rg174 in a spare sotabeams bag weighs 110g less than the linked dipole 2 antennas for the weight of one😂. Keep up the good work, hope to get a s2s with you at some point. Matt de MWØKAX.
Hi Matt, Thank you! I have done a little bit of research on this antenna since reading your comment, and from what I can see, am I correct that it cannot be purchased, but you have to make it yourself? I'd definitely be interesting in trying it and reviewing it as I cant seem to find any videos on RUclips of someone using it on a SOTA activation.

Was hot 🥵!
Brilliant effort and activation! Enjoyed the video. Exciting when you got those really distant ATNOs. I may set to deciphering your Ogham...

Fab Chris!
Yeah I don’t think it is reflected in 1 point!
That was absolutely brilliant Dave.
I compelled myself to read the call signs along with you out loud. 😂
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

I sure did…
And I’m sure I left it out once or twice when calling..
Enjoyed it and am glad I made the effort to do it 😊.
Nice video! Crow✌️
Thank you Crow!
Wow! Inspiring activation Dave. Well done shoehorning that in without disrupting the clan. Congratulations! de Patrick EI8IKB
Thanks Patrick 😊..
That was the intention anyway and I was back in the apartment before they were up 👌🏻.
