Think this fight have easily the most insane moment in a turn based RPG. You can use Earthbound as a whole, The 25th Ward, Undertale, all Final Fantasy games, No More Heroes 3, fuck even Persona 5 Royal as a example of doing similar stuff but I think none reachs the force of the moment when you have to break the special one of the guys are doing. Majima, Saejima and Daigo all have the same skillset as Kiryu. They chave the classics movesets, new stuff, can punch when is not their turn, etc. They are way to much to the party to handle but Kiryu even with his weaknesses can put a equal fight when he gets some of the heat back. Its more than 18 years since you know half of these character's and is the last fight with them but now in a turn based rpg until you break that and see all the memorys of those times while both fight in real time combat with the old music back. Is insane, is video game as a way to storytelling, as a way to do art and is cool as fuck. I just screamed the whole time, is insane. The fight seems to not have much emotion behind but Kiryu just speels for you what you are missing of information. They have fear to try again while Kiryu near death only gets more motivation to get shit done. They have a strong bond and the only way to say goodbye and to Kiryu says his last message to them is fighting. You dont need to fear to try again to do the right thing, the whole series is about trying to do what you think is right even when the whole world is against. Is just strong as hell and I can't even build a normal commentary about the fight for now. Way to much hype and thoughts in my head about this fight. Only thing I can say is probably my favorite turn based moment alongside Tokio fighting his own suicidal thoughts in 25 Wards and one of my favorite boss fights in general. Is insane, Ryosuke Horii is a genius when he wants to be
Zhao seonhee nanba and saeko just proved to me that they're the best squad you can ever have. The moment they said fuck it and went head on against some of the world legendary and strongest people with no fear to protect kiryu was just amazing. Such a powerful scene.
Seein’ Nanba block Daigo with his umbrella raised my opinion of his physical fighting capabilities by a good margin. That was pretty awesome. Then again, I could say the same about the parries Zhao and Seonhee did as well.
Not only is Kiryu's party skilled, but it also shows how the Tojo Clan Legends have slowly eroded over time from lack of conflict + age. Make no mistake: they are still potent, but Saeko, Zhao, Seonhee, Nanba would've little to no chance against them if they were in their prime. Especially if Daigo had a gun.
The morale between Daigo, Majima, and Saejima was probably really low given what happened to them, and it's probably been years since they had a proper fight. Not to mention they probably were holding back a little since they were not intending to kill Kiryu.
this fight felt like a sorrowful sendoff to these characters with one last grand clash between series staples and the relatively new characters. They don't want to willingly fight anymore; they are content with fishing but since kiryu kicked the hornets nest they need to defend their dignity. This song and by proxy this fight contrasts nicely with the one from the last game being this bombastic energy filled decimation of everything the enemies in the game had to endure. Sure, you are fighting beat-em-up characters in an RPG, but you are a beat-em-up character which levels the playing field.
This fight was easily one of the best, if not the absolute best fight in the game. It was an amazing way to show to Daigo, Saejima and Majima that the new legends will be okay taking their places and that they can truly rest.
@@danielbars2371 Ebina feels more like Kiryu's sorrow that because of his Chairman retirement he ruined many lives, including Ebina's. It's better to say that all fights in that game are good. Ebina included.

"A big battle with Majima, Saejima, and Daigo. What do we compose for this?" "You ever play Kingdom Hearts?" "Say no more!" Yeah, I'm getting big Shimomura vibes from this.
Even with Kazuma dying, even with these 3 being so out of it. Its impressive and almost comforting how strong the others have gotten and its just enough to use it for someone they call their friend.
I remember seeing something about this fight in a trailer somewhere and I knew right away that it was gonna be a challenge. Definitely one of the best fights in the game, hell maybe it is *THE* best. And it was definitely a challenge too, it took me a lot of effort to prevent ANYONE on my team from going down. Also can we talk about how they were fully prepared to murder their friend who has cancer just because he insulted them?
I thinks it's because, yes they feel insulted, but maybe because if Kiryu is going to die, they though it's 100 times better that Kiryu dies by their hands and not by something like cancer
Bro I don’t think they would ever out right kill him, this was just like other fights were they fight to settle things, not to terribly harm, do u think majima was gonna kill kiryu in kiwami?
The Like A Dragons series perfected the trope of introducing new characters to carry the torch of their predecessors. This right here is how you make a new cast of characters that are worthy to stand alongside their predecessors with their own merits. I'm excited to see how this new generation moves forward.
you can really tell just how much the trio is holding back, and even then kiryu has to give it his all bc of how weakened he’s become this theme is so sad - majima and saejima haven’t seen their close friend in years and haven’t gotten a true chance to be happy with him again, and the last real interaction with kiryu daigo had was him proudly calling him his son, even though the trio are angered this theme shows just how sad they are to fight kiryu
I disagree that they're holding back. They're ALL getting on in age. Kiryu is still very strong, he just has those moments where his lungs give out and he needs to rely on the others. This fight, to me, felt like we saw how the Ijincho gang had grown in strength since 7, being able to match the old legends, regardless of the fact that they're getting old. This is a passing-the-torch game, after all.
@@auhs6240 if they had a little bit Motivations, The Party wouldn't even survive at all, Majima, Saejima and Daigo was still Monsters on their own but they were also humans, they have emotions and the fact Tatara destroyed their reputations, it makes them have some kind "Mental Breakdown" Basically and weakened them, but in The Final Long Battle with them again before facing Ebina, they regain their motivations and thus they were back to their original Strength, And doubt Age is something matters here, Komaki and Joji were the example, The older you are, more stronger you are+ Gained a lot of Experiences helps a lot, The Tojo Legends (including Kiryu) still leagues above Ichi's party+Ichi itself and it's a fact and no hate, i agree about The Passing Torch game, but about The Party being strong against the Tojo Legends it's because The Tojo legends already had no motivations here and thus making them weaker, The Tojo Legends at the end when they regained Their Strength is already stronger than the party again, not including Kiryu for this one since he still had cancer... And also Kiryu is getting weakened because of The Cancer, not because of His Age, i'm sure after The Chemotherapy ended, Kiryu would be back to his original strength again and be strong af again, even though right now is an RPG gameplay... Still he Carried the gameplay hard lol 😆
I discovered the Yakuza license 2-3 years ago, starting with the magnificent Yakuza 0 and continuing until today. What an epic, what a magnificent game, Yakuza 8 makes me nostalgic when we come back to Kamurocho, which has changed a lot since the beginning, and this fight against Tojo's legendary trio of yakuzas (just magnificent) my top video game license. Yakuza will always be in my heart ❤️
For some people, seeing the new guys deflecting their attacks may seem really weird, but take into consideration that the old guard are +60 years old by this point, plus the new team aren't exactly pushovers either (except maybe for namba who's literally just a homeless man, but we love him all the same)
Even though the game told me 50 times that there'd be a fight coming, I was still so shaken by those three names is one boss fight. This fight was so cool, and I love how much character Daigo had in his scenes. They really did all of the Tojo boys well here.
Best fight in the entire game hands down. Ost slaps and seeing kiryu have one last duel with the Tojo legends was epic. Couldn’t help but feel emotional when the brawler section kicked in during daigo’s turn with for face playing in the background. Really reminded me that I had been playing these games trying to catch up since 2020 and it’s been quite the journey
Majima both being extremely happy that he's finally gonna stab Kiryu in his terminally ill face and also being one of his closest friends with a bond that formed before they even met when both protecting the same girl in '88 is a wild wild wild contradiction but hey, it's Majima! Wouldn't work with anyone but him.
I may not know that much about music theory, but I noticed that in parts of this song, it repeats itself three times, for each side of the "triangle". Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but either way, it makes me love the song so much more.
I love that the theme is called "Impregnable Triangle" but after that QTE you can't tell which triangle it's talking about. The one of Majima, Saejima, Dojima OR the one Zhao, Seonhee, and Nanba form around Kiryu to protect him from them. Because no matter what happens, none of these two triangles will be broken: The Legendary Yakuza will not relent, and Kiryu's party will protect him at all costs.
With how close the pair were, I"ve really gotta wonder what Majima would've done if Kiryu was too weak or slow to stop his dagger lunge. How wpuld he have reacted to killung his second brother?
I think the trio probably wanted Kiryu dead, not necessarily out of malice but because they thought dying at their hands was more fitting for a legend like Kiryu than for him to die from cancer.
This has the triumphant strings to it - fitting for a grand reunion and battle with 3 Tojo legends - but the rest of it is just downcast and melancholy. Having had their reputations ruined and afraid of inadvertantly being used to glamorise the Yakuza lifestyle, they're all hiding out in this crappy fishing hut in the arse end of nowhere, seemingly content to just fade away. But Kiryu - who has little time left - is the only one who has the motivation to do something about Ebina's schemes, so he ultimately insults the other three and goads them into a battle in his own way of giving them the need to get out of their funk and do something. Also, the title of the track could easily refer to the three legends we're fighting, but it refers to Kiryu's friends too: when he starts to lose steam and falls to his knees, Nanba, Seonhee and Zhao take up a defensive triangle position around him until he finds his feet again: they are literally the Impregnable Triangle in that moment. But the whole fight is awesome, especially with the Dragon Resurgance moments for when each of them is nearly beaten, to have some one-on-one time with them in the midst of old memories while their old soundtracks play. Also, you have to imagine Majima was having LOADS of fun here. Probably the first battle he'd had in four years.
Keep in mind that Majima only has the attack buff in the past because his power alone is not that high. Here, he does not need it, because his attack damage is buffed.
I genuinely think this might be the best bossfight in the entire series. The emotion, music, QTE, difficulty, and twist with the dragon resurgence fights is absolutely top notch in this fight. I do think other fights, like Aizawa and Shishido come close, but when the memories flood around you as you break the normal conventions of a turn based RPG to brawl it out like before just elevates this fight to another level.
I love that in this fights qte, Kiryu looks very desperate avoiding their attacks, not only just falling to his knee after the fact but his face in a hurting wince the whole time. He flails his body around to not get hit by Saejima and looks like he’s taking his last bit of energy to catch majimas hand, I love it, seeing Kiryu vulnerable gives a great since of desperation and fearfulness I’ve never really felt through the series.
When I first heard this track I didn't like it at all because of how different it was from the rest of the soundtrack, but after revisiting it again and again I was able to get the hang of it and it automatically became one of my TOP of best songs of this game
Man, do people not know bangers when they hear it the first time? So many times I hear people say "I didn't like it at first" or "It took a few listens" and my ass is hype the first listen.
Music is subjective, as you say you heard this song for the first time and you automatically liked it, I listened to it several times because it didn't convince me until I got the taste and now I love it. For my part I can tell you that tracks like: "Kooky", "Slugfest", "Barracuda", "Twin Machetes" and practically the great majority of songs I loved instantly, but for example I can tell you that I don't like "Tyrant of Ocean" (and I gave it several chances but it doesn't convince me, I prefer much more the fan version made by the "Mercury" channel). Because like anything else, these are personal tastes
@@myers9493he still keeps up with them during qte while having cancer. If he didnt loose stamina there he could keep it up. But ye Saejima with support>Kiryu
Kiryu is a beast and but even in his prime he is draw with Saejima, now imagine Majima, Daigo and Saejima fighting only Kiryu, nah Kiryu is losing that fighting
Saejima = kiryu and majima stalemated saejima so we can say the three of them are roughly equal and daigo's a bit weaker but still stronger than most characters so yeah them three against kiryu he ain't winning

This is where IW peaked for me. Best bosses, best music (damn?), best midfight cutscene and that one-on-one twist, everything was brilliant.
Zhao seonhee nanba and saeko just proved to me that they're the best squad you can ever have. The moment they said fuck it and went head on against some of the world legendary and strongest people with no fear to protect kiryu was just amazing. Such a powerful scene.
To be fair, Nanba, Saeko and Zhao have already fought 2/3rds of the people there. It's more of a rematch for Majima and Saejima.
Just the entire Ijincho crew is so wholesome and care about each other, despite all the goofiness, hijinks and dire situations.
Nanba said he knew some sort of martial art that utilized his umbrella similar to sawashiro in lad7

Let's be real. Most people (Including me) didn't expect the theme to be for this fight.
I thought it was ebina's
this fight felt like a sorrowful sendoff to these characters with one last grand clash between series staples and the relatively new characters.
Man this ost is good, also i love how its sounds original and not just another receive you remix, really gives this fight a different feels.
Best fight in the game hands down.
Absolutely bro, I had my jaw dropped the whole time for my first reaction.
Ebina?
@@danielbars2371 Ebina feels more like Kiryu's sorrow that because of his Chairman retirement he ruined many lives, including Ebina's.
It's better to say that all fights in that game are good. Ebina included.

Impregnable (Adj): (of a fortified position) Unable to be captured or broken into. This shown that no matter how much they have been through, their ideal will never change, and since this song play for Daigo, Majima and Saejima, they formed a triangle that can't be moved.

Super appropiate with this fight having the big friendship moment of the party jumping in to defend Kiryu
Time to reignite the fire of Fudo Myoo, reawaken the Hannya’s love for fighting and make the Tiger roar once more.
I love how in this series everyone knows how to kick your ass
This shit goes fucking hard. This fight was absolute peak
Even with Kazuma dying, even with these 3 being so out of it. Its impressive and almost comforting how strong the others have gotten and its just enough to use it for someone they call their friend.
the name/title drop of this fight was PEAK; no amount of warning could've relayed how bad I had to get ready for it HOLY SHI-
I remember seeing something about this fight in a trailer somewhere and I knew right away that it was gonna be a challenge.
@@patatayt1919 Yeah, that makes sense.
I'm excited to see how this new generation moves forward.
you can really tell just how much the trio is holding back, and even then kiryu has to give it his all bc of how weakened he’s become
this theme is so sad - majima and saejima haven’t seen their close friend in years and haven’t gotten a true chance to be happy with him again, and the last real interaction with kiryu daigo had was him proudly calling him his son, even though the trio are angered this theme shows just how sad they are to fight kiryu
I was on cloud nine when this music started holy shit dude
0:07 to 0:22 Battle for the Dream callback 🥲
I discovered the Yakuza license 2-3 years ago, starting with the magnificent Yakuza 0 and continuing until today. What an epic, what a magnificent game, Yakuza 8 makes me nostalgic when we come back to Kamurocho, which has changed a lot since the beginning, and this fight against Tojo's legendary trio of yakuzas (just magnificent) my top video game license.
Yakuza will always be in my heart ❤️
I don't know what this song is talking about this triangle is incredibly pregnable
I said it once, I'll say it again: The old men of Yakuza have the best theme songs!
When I heard this it went straight on Spotify
"Ah yes, Kiryu, my good friend. Allow me to stab you while you are struggling to even breath. It's just the thrill of the fight"
2:17 sounds exactly like the seprentine belt on my car slipping thanks for gaslighting me rgg
Nanba wanted ALL that smoke
I may not know that much about music theory, but I noticed that in parts of this song, it repeats itself three times, for each side of the "triangle". Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but either way, it makes me love the song so much more.
"Impregnable"? We'll see about that, gimme 5 minutes alone with Daigo and he's getting a new chairman.

Impregnable triangle? Just give me a few hours...
Their bussies will start dripping…
By the time I’m done, all the Jimas will be expecting….
Not listening to the musics or watching the videos was worth it, i loved this fight, i am almost finishing the game
I know the power of friendship is a trope but it gets me every time
This has the triumphant strings to it - fitting for a grand reunion and battle with 3 Tojo legends - but the rest of it is just downcast and melancholy.
Yeah imagine my horror when I realised yakuza like a dragon’s majima boss was the easy version
Keep in mind that Majima only has the attack buff in the past because his power alone is not that high.
Here, he does not need it, because his attack damage is buffed.
I thought Majima's Evasion buff was gonna be a problem, but then I remembered Scum Scraper exists and cannot miss :)
In all honesty, I thought LAD version was more difficult.
Or maybe it's just because LAD didn't give us level recommendations but IW did.
This fight really blows the pants off the Majima & Saejima fight from 7 IMO. That fight was good but this one felt so much more epic.
This theme is up there with all the legendary OST's
When the squad started defending Kiryu in that action sequence😮💨
"Impregnable" buddy I'm getting them all pregnant
I genuinely think this might be the best bossfight in the entire series. The emotion, music, QTE, difficulty, and twist with the dragon resurgence fights is absolutely top notch in this fight. I do think other fights, like Aizawa and Shishido come close, but when the memories flood around you as you break the normal conventions of a turn based RPG to brawl it out like before just elevates this fight to another level.
The amount of respect the party gives to kiryu, especially when shielding him is what the dragon deserves 🙌
Still stuck on this fuckin fight, Wouldn’t be a yakuza rpg without me getting stuck on a fight that involves majima
This gives off "its the guy from the lore!" Vibes
This might be the best track in the whole game
We're catching all the fish in the sea with this one.
Damn near 40 years of history between these characters.
Seonhee was so badass in my game fighting in a black maid outfit.
