If she didn't decide to go to Santa Barbara, Abby would've died a brutal death, the universe itself gave her a brutal death and Ellie went all the way to Santa Barbara to KILL her and ended up saving her. I personally liked the entire game except for that ending.

Brilliant game. The developers were able to portray the psychopathic vigilante so perfectly. Ellie killed dozens of people and deprived Abby of all her loved ones, then, hiding behind a "sudden moral epiphany", left her broken and alive to suffer for the rest of her life. Last of us 2 was a wild ride. I felt all types of emotions throughout the game and in the end of it all found that Abby and Joel are the same in some ways. The emotions I felt after Joel’s deaths and the satisfaction and guilt after seeing her friends die. Then Abby gets to see them is just icing on the cake on how much of an emotional rollercoaster this game will give you.
I think that's the point of Last of Us 2.story. Everyone is flawed, Abby's quest for revenge cost her friends' lives to pay the price. Same goes for Ellie, she lost some people as well as her love of her life and her baby.

This game is such a cruel world. I was on Ellie side at the beginning, but after you know the truth, i realize Ellie was losing her mind and going too far in my opinion. I'm not ok with Joel death but in the same time, he did something very wrong. Abby had the right to react. Maybe, we could imagine Abby being merciful, punishing Joel but not killing him or something. But in the same time, Joel killed her father in cold blood, and probably stop the chance to find a cure for billions of people at this time. But this is also an human reaction since he lost her daughter. That's why this game is so good with his charcters, very complexe and interesting, playing with moral values, ect.....
The game missed the point from 0. If the furst gabe had a mechanic that led you play as joel and as abby then the impact in the second game would have been better and people con sympathize more with her. But since you kill the protagonist of the first game we grew to love by a complete stranger, then yes, you get the backslash that you aimed for. TLOU was perfect without a sequel And with the third to come, i can only hope for it to end.

Honestly looking back at the game without all the hatred and being parcial. Joel death was something he deserved, he got that coming and dont even feel bad for him, but abbys friends also deserved those deaths even the pregnant one. 5 people to kill one old man who clearly isnt the same person, clearly they were cowards and their thirst for revenge end up coming right back to them, a cicle that end it with Ellie.
For me Ellies campaign was great because there was only 2 new characters the story has to juggle which they did fine. Unfortunately when you switch to Abby there's just not enough time to flesh out Abby, Abbys firefly squad, Issac and WLF, Seraphites and seraphite defectors. They should have done away with the 3 day premise.

This game is such a cruel world. I was on Ellie side at the beginning, but after you know the truth, i realize Ellie was losing her mind and going too far in my opinion. I'm not ok with Joel death but in the same time, he did something very wrong. Abby had the right to react. Maybe, we could imagine Abby being merciful, punishing Joel but not killing him or something. But in the same time, Joel killed her father in cold blood, and probably stop the chance to find a cure for billions of people at this time. But this is also an human reaction since he lost her daughter.
That's why this game is so good with his charcters, very complexe and interesting, playing with moral values, ect.....
If this was a Detroit become human like game I’d miss all the quick time events as Abby
The game missed the point from 0. If the furst gabe had a mechanic that led you play as joel and as abby then the impact in the second game would have been better and people con sympathize more with her. But since you kill the protagonist of the first game we grew to love by a complete stranger, then yes, you get the backslash that you aimed for. TLOU was perfect without a sequel

Honestly looking back at the game without all the hatred and being parcial.
Joel death was something he deserved, he got that coming and dont even feel bad for him, but abbys friends also deserved those deaths even the pregnant one.
5 people to kill one old man who clearly isnt the same person, clearly they were cowards and their thirst for revenge end up coming right back to them, a cicle that end it with Ellie.
I like the direction the story took but it was too filled with plot holes with me to enjoy.
For me Ellies campaign was great because there was only 2 new characters the story has to juggle which they did fine. Unfortunately when you switch to Abby there's just not enough time to flesh out Abby, Abbys firefly squad, Issac and WLF, Seraphites and seraphite defectors. They should have done away with the 3 day premise.

Manny's one down was the best and the most joyful to me. Tommy played for fun with both of them. If Yara wasn't there, Tom would also finish Abby but yeah the game couldn't finish that fast 😄

Ah pesar de ver morir a todos sus amigos ; su perro y cargar con algunos problemas emocionales perdona a Elie y Elie aunque aun con secuelas decide ir y matarla aunque el juego no veo podia haberla matado hay colgada pero la desata y se la lleva en ultimo momento ganandole una venganza que no concluyo .
En si hay personas que no le agradan Aby y podria ser uno de ellos pero si lo examinas bien simplemente seras del grupo de odiar un personaje solo porque se vengo de las secuelas que hizo el personaje principal .

I dont und why in the game noone told ellie why abby killed joel. I think in tlous3 she will be searching for the reason otherwise how u can end this way. Ellie didnt have a talk with all abbys friends about it, only with nora small talk but nora just said that joel deserved it, she didnt say ya because joel killed abbys father to save ellie from the surgery. Yet in the game they show in the teather scene that ellie knows wht joel did to abbys dad but how she knows it??
This game is pure gold.
The true villain in this game was Ellie. She selfishly chose revenge over her friends, family, etc. I understand she wanted revenge for Joel’s death, but Abby wanted revenge for Joel’s selfishness in saving Ellie instead of letting Ellie change the world (something even Ellie was mad at Joel for)
So to anyone who hates Abby, I ask why? Wouldn’t you do the same thing to someone if they took your loved one, let alone your parent? I would.
Also Ellie CHOSE to leave Dina and her baby and get her fingers cut off, even when Abby didn’t want to fight (final battle)
