The 325i is also lighter. So ... No chance for 325i to beat the 3.0 turbodiesel. There is not one thing at which it has the upper hand. Not to mention a rolling start race, where the turbodiesel would put even a bigger gap.
200k km's on both of them and still going strong! Cool video! Thinking of getting one of these to tune and bring to the Nurburgring. They're dirt cheap these days with many spare parts available.
Well, as a petrol engines fan i have to admit that the diesel has over 20hp less than petrol and even that won remarkable. But i think that you could make better start with 325i especially on a dry road. I like your content, so please go on making such a interesting comparisons!
@@viktorivanov1478 Turbodiesel is not exactly fast of the line. A n/a with similar power has actually quite a bit better start. Rolling start is where the more powerful turbodiesel comes above.
@@tsebehtgma6422 a 3.0 turbo diesel is quicker than a 2.5 na petrol. Why not compare it to a 3.0 turbo petrol? Oh I know, because it would stand a chance.
Is it a possibility that ambient air temperature could be the difference between these two cars. I've always been a gasoline guy but I know some diesel trucks over here are pretty fast.
Good question. Maybe a bit in the power output of that petrol BMW. But, usually, turbocharged diesel is a bit faster than n/a engine with similar power output. So 325i still would have lost, even at same temperature test. Turbodiesel just is a better engine under load and has more performance, and the way it delivers it - compared to n/a petrol engine.
Bear in mind 5.5C vs 29.5C makes a big difference in performance.

baxter009 hell yes 😂😂
325i was on live reading, the 325d was set on a global average
Yeah that’s wrong. Not a chance is the petrol using 5X as much fuel to accelerate as the diesel.

Thank You... Well, 325i is very very weak in low RPM. That's why the start isn't perfect. Sorry for that
@@muldix That''s normal for the petrol engine without turbo and the outside temperature doesn't help as well.

The 330i is so much better then the 325i for the same price you get a n/a 3l 258 Hp inline 6
human eye can see only 8gb of ram
Totally the comment I was looking for thx m8
For the petrol being a NA engine it gave the turbo diesel a pretty good run in my opinion. Not to mention the diesel having more torque.
Its actually big difference in outside temperature but well done diesel
That’s the right note!
Yes but 325d has I think more kg, I say with same weight and ps diesel is always faster
When the diesel was recorded, it was raining outside
