The cardboard box is a very important tool for stealth, I cant count the amount of Agents that have been saved by employing the use of a cardboard box.
Also this is what a boss battle would be like if you fought against either Solid Snake or Big Boss.

And that's why MGS5 enemies>MGS1 enemies. They actually have the brains to shoot at cardboxed in an alert phase, and they investigate the damn thing even if you are completely anonymous. And, uh, then they also salute a picture of a fellow soldier on the box.

We asked ourselves that on set too. We decided their goon logic wasn't too advanced... They get there in the end, Fear'll do that.
That's the best combo I seen in MGS history. Konami could learn something from you guys. The box the soldier and let another guard shoot it. Genius. I wish they would of put that into one of the games.

themeanminecraftman Reaction to this game is mixed. Some say it's a nice story to flesh out Big Boss's character and give a bit more insight into his rise. Others say it's completely unnecessary and redundant due to Peace Walker. Personally I'm in the former camp, and say that if you have a psp and can find this game you should definitely check it out.
George Sears I think that game would be the only reason I'd ever own a PSP. :P
I don't have one though, sadly.
But I have a question, if they say it's "redundant due to Peace Walker" what do they mean?
+themeanminecraftman They say that Peace Walker fills the same role (fleshing out Big Boss's character, explaining the rise of Outer Heaven, and showing off his growth as a leader rather than a follower) and arguably better since it's necessary to fully get Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain. I personally say each story does some of those things better. Portable Ops shows off Big Boss growing as a leader more since he directly has to try and turn the main villain's army against him whereas Peace Walker is mostly him following the lead of Kaz and only building Mother Base out of convenience (more guns and stuff). Both show off the rise of Outer Heaven in different ways, Portable Ops shows how he got the idea and the money for it while Peace Walker shows specifically HOW he built it. It's a tie in that regard. Lastly Peace Walker does a bit more in the way of fleshing out Big Boss since it delves more into how The Boss's death effects him but it is in my opinion undermined by the fact that it makes no sense due to it directly contradicting the end of MGS3 and contradicting PO (I could go into more detail but don't want to spoil if you don't want me to).
