I was there. One of the greatest live performances I've ever seen. Got a chance to meet Johnson tonight and got to tell him. That's Levon on the drums.
In his old age, David Johansen looks a lot more professional and settled in slightly more formal appearance. I absolutely admired his outlandish and gaudy fashion sense in his youth. But even I as an old rocker will keep my sartorial appearance soft on the eyes, at 50 plus. Much respect to everybody performing. Peace.
Jesus Christ, isn't Hubert Sumlin quite something? Those Howlin' Wolf records wouldn't sound so godlike without his outstanding, distinctive guitar work. They would sound great, yeah, but not godlike.
Agree totally. After all, he helped create the unforgettable classic guitar riff in "Smokestack Lightning". BTW he performed in this concert after just having had a lung removed. Legend.
Awesome combo of great talents to master great song
Johansen's voice an excellent choice to cover Wolf.
Best version ever of this song!
David Jo just gets cooler every year. Jimi Hendrix once told Hubert Sumlin he was his favorite guitarist.
Mr. Sumlim , I think the greatest Rhythm guitar ever!!!!
whew love this song and the way david dances,,
only johanson could belt out the song this way to the great guitar playing of sumlin

David can really move well, and Hubert is awesome.

David Johanson = Buster Poindexter in alter ego. Amazing, as is Hubert.
Hubert Sumlin is the man.
Levon Helm is really, really driving the groove here
Steve Jordan on the other set.
That is one massive groove going on.
Johansen is tearing it up...
PROPS to David Jo for this KILLER VERSION-- KILLIN FLOOR FOR SURE! So much feeling w/out fake emotion! Thanks HUBERT and DAVID.
David did that❤️

IF I'D HAVE FOLLOWED MY FOIST MIND!!!
Worst part of lighting in a bottle... Fucking wrecked this song and the movie. This should have been on the editing floor.
Fortunately it wasn’t, despite your very foolish opinion.
I love David Johanson, (especially the Dolls and his acting) but he never could sing for sh!t. LOL!
This is actually fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised.
